Your best to keep the heater on for much longer. Short periods can clog up the heaters with soot. Keep it at a medium flow/heat and then ramp it up before turning off to burn any soot off. Just speaking from experience, jealous of your rig!

Girl, you need a back window cover!!! Asap, why haven’t you invested in those window covering all van lifers use?? And probably something to separate the cab to the back also a curtain. Something to keep your heat in the back area where you both sleep. 😊😊😊❤❤❤

Hey so I’m a HVAC guy and if your air intake is under that floorboard I suspect you run a much greater risk of the heater going into high limit shut off mode. I at least suggest that you move the cold air return to an open space. Not a small enclosed space. Love your channel. Stay warm up there! Sending love from Ohio!
I lived in Alaska for 10 years. Keeping warm is very important. Do you have a carbon monoxide detector?

You can get auto tape to put over the cracks on the sides of Poe on the inside. Also get some insulation strips to put around your back door.

Sometimes she misses the signs I think the dog was reacting to a new smell. This is why she should have run the new system maybe 10 minutes way earlier, in the day. Remember they smell things u can't see.

Why don't you get a step bumper on the rear of that thing, and for the love of God, please get a more stable burner, jet boil makes a folding 2 burner unit, go and buy it now...cuz every time you cook now I'm waiting for that pan to dump in your lap or splash in your face because its so unstable and high off the counter...its actually orange so it will match your pan...😅

Put some Rain X on your windshield , I had a friend that had no wipers and the Rain X would make the water just bead right off . It should help some with the snow .

The heater has a thermostat and a setting which is just past the reading on the control of 720 . If you set it on that it will cycle on and off automatically when the heater drops below your desired temp.

I use a small fan to blow the hot air around, you could direct it up into your bed loft, pointing it from the where the heat comes out of that small vent put a fan on the floor pointing up into the top of your Papa. You won’t believe how hot is gonna get up there👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Awsome heater. I Live in van expediting. I have chinese diesel heater installed. I have the same buddyheater as backup. Then of course I have a second Chinese heater packed away as a backup to my backup. I tear mine down once a year to clean it. Easy peasie. Your relationship and loyalty toward blue is overwhelming. ❤

You stayed the night up in Hatcher's Pass... that's awesome! That place was like my 2nd home when I lived in AK. That area is usually a good spot to see the Northern Lights too if they're active. You and Blue have a safe trip! 😊

Put some directional vents in the wood instead of just wholes.
@9:15 I would feel much better if you would continue that heater exhaust pipe further out and half way up. so that the wind doesnt blow the "deadly" fumes under the chassis.
heavy overnight snowfall could build up and block off any feasible escape route for the fumes and the fumes could build up inside your sleeping area.
you can buy flexible exhaust pipe to do the job I think.
Get some adhesive insulation strips to fill the cracks in the doors. Also, consulate bubble/f9il insulation to cover the interior walls will do an amaz8ng job keeping exterior heat/cold and noise down.

Diesel heaters usually take on low gallon for about 30 to 36 hours on on high 11 hours per gallon.

Just a small piece of advice on running a 300TDI diesel in a Defender.Idle it for at least 3-5 minutes before shutting it down.These engines are turbocharged and oil cools the turbo-when you shut it off-oil flow stops dead.The turbo is cooled by the oil flow from the oil pan and when you shut it off-you cease the oil flow.Turbochargers run 4 times hotter than your water temp-so the coolant may be 200 degrees,but the turbo can get over 1000 degree pulling hard-Idling will save you a turbo.
Have u seen the salad kit hack. buy a salad kit. buy tortillas. and a protein like chicken. then ya just cook up in a pan your chicken and toss on a tilla. then add the lettuce from your kit and add the dressing that comes with and bam ya got a dank burrito and didn't have to cut up the fixings. i saw it on you tube fishing n more. mav and merta made them. ice fishing. anyway just a good easy meal.

I read The Power of Now about ten years ago - I really wish that book had been around when I was a young man, I could have gained much from a book like that. If you have difficulty allowing yourself to be in the moment or your mind feels like it's running away with past or future thoughts all the time, The Power of Now might be for you. This book was also a good launch off point to begin A Course In Miracles, which I believe Tolle may even reference in The Power of Now. Lot's to unlearn and learn!

Glad to see your diesel heater is working. I came across one of your videos where you and Blue was supposed to stay in the Urich in the mountains for a few days. I hope they gave you back your money, leave wet wood. That one video had me hook and I fell down the rabbit hole and have watched at least 7 tonight. I loved the video of your dad and brother visiting, you such have had them bring you some ranch dressing 😂. It's always a good idea to have a second source. Heat when you're dealing with cold temperatures the diesel heaters are awesome. Nice i'm not the only one living in the back of my truck

There are some wipes that are meant for utensils & washing dishes, however most people don’t realize they exist & don’t exactly look for those. You also gotta use whatcha got. Can’t exactly complain when one needs to eat or just cook/clean in general.
