I was afraid the VW would look like a watermelon with red seats and thought the leather color is what I would want in a real one. Thanks for the feedback and for watching!

I like that you stuck close to the original colour on the exterior but I love the choice of tan (or Taupe) for tjhe seats. the seat colour really compliments the look. Pastel-ish, subtle...great choice.

The three most classical where the two tone: White for the upper part from the roof to the logo and Red, Orange or Turquoise for the lower part and the side, so your was a good choice.
Personally I'm going the White/Red for my Revell Kit, anyway great restore I loved it from the start to the end, my best compliments this and Herbie are my absolute favs. ^_^

Vinyl dye works really well on certain plastics. It sinks in and doesn’t obscure the details. Nice job as always.

I wouldn’t touch the lights or handles. Every time I see it done….no matter how carefully…..it always looks messy and painted on. The original didn’t have it, so leave it original.

White over a darker shade of blue, we’re as I remember the standard colors for that model VW van. Although you choice of the lighter blue looks great.

Maybe red. But the turquoise looks really nice.
I would've chosen orange and cream colour scheme!
As for the lower body color, having lived through the 1970's-and living where hippies fled to (New Mexico) I remember orange and sort of a reddish/orange. I also remember pure white.

Other than the rust looking like it was applied yesterday with some steel wool and water, good video.
Never saw one with a VW emblem on it, usually have a round sticker with a B in it on the nose of the Bus
I was surprised it was a metal emblem considering all the plastic on the bus. I think it was a nice touch. Thanks for watching.

LIKE IT, but 2 things-when seats R down, the backs should B white 2 match interior. 2nd- the side door tops should also B white 2 match the outside. Then its the B E S T on the internet!!!!

What bushings are you referring to?
@@SilverHawkRestorations the little black rubber bits on the axles to keep the wheels from rattling.
@@jjryan1352 When I received the truck I realized the back of the frame where it holds the rear axle had broken and was way oversized now. The bushings had also broken off the wheels as you can see in the video. The front wheels and frame were in tact and the bushings were able to still do their job. I opted to not put the rear ones back on since they were broken off the wheels and would not have worked even if I had used them. I hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching and good catch. I had already forgotten about it. There is probably a more elegant solution, but at the time I could not come up with one.

Imagine converting it into bluetooth remote control..
If this was a real vehicle, some may choose to clearcoat the bus for a "patina" paint job. I prefer new paint myself.

I don't understand why you would use sand paper, even that fine, on the windows because no matter what you do the marks from it are going to stay there.
When the windshield is in bad shape, the only way to improve it that I know of is to sand it down and buff it back. I haven't seen any replacements windshields for this vehicle anywhere and I thought the final result was quite an improvement from where it started.
