  • Tools don't need to be expensive, especially when they're used for emergency purposes. In this video I show you 13 tools to get you started in building a kit for your Jeep for around $100. Sometimes the best tool is the one you have access to!

A lot of good ideas for someone needing some basics for the trail. They also have come-a-longs there that are a good value. It never hurts to have one in the vehicle especially if there is not a winch on the vehicle. In fact they have snatch blocks, tree straps and tow straps. I've literally used a come-a-long to winch out a full sized truck once. I never thought it would work, but it certainly did the job like an electric winch, just a little slower.

The come alongs are definitely a workout! I've used them to get a Jeep onto a trailer including a vintage Grand Wagoneer recently! Harbor Freight has a ton of tools that are very very usable for whatever you encounter and you don't have to worry about losing your expensive tools on the trail.

I'd avoid that 1st socket set you mention, the 40pc. Pittsburgh. Unless they have updated it, it has a MASSIVE flaw. The wrench is a 3/8", but all the sockets except one are 1/4". While it does come with an adapter, it is notoriously weak and breaks very easily....go check the reviews. You'd think they would just include a 1/4" wrench or change all the sockets to 3/8".

Ah makes sense. Probably better to put together a socket set. Thank you for watching!

I think that is a fantastic idea! I think I need to make a Facebook and have it where we can all communicate things like this easily. I think I now have a weekend goal! Thank you,,
