As a combat veteran, one who struggles with Combat PTSD. One who struggled with the Lord after what I saw in Afghanistan. And walking back to the Lord when I held my own son. I struggled with this because I had 6 of my brothers take their own life. Some I knew had faith and loved the Lord, some I knew didnt. My mind is a little at ease now for the ones who trusted in him. I still weep that I lost my faith, and I couldnt have ministered to them. But my best friend besides my wife, who thought I was crazy, has returned to Christ himself!! A prayer I had prayed for 8 years for him to know Him again. The Lord is Good and his Mercies are never ending. Thank You Sam.

Through our Lord Jesus I met another Veteran in Cascade Idaho and I had an honest to goodness encounter with the Holy Spirit, and since that day in July 2019, I have seen almost a complete healing. And I say almost because I can still get triggered but it never lasts. It’s been 6 years since my last hospitalization and I have now lost my reliance on THC therapy! I was leading my father to Christ and got him to come to church with me. Such joy! then my brother died by his own hand and my father asked the pastor to officiate at his funeral. He refused saying that he could not bury a person who committed suicide. When he needed comfort in that moment he was kicked in the teeth by someone who should have shown compassion.
Respectfully this is actually a common tradition. While suicides are not assured of damnation it still does not look good for them and we ought not lie about that.

I actually have testimony to this. My father was bipolar and he ended his life. He had drank drano. They couldn't save him, and when they pulled the tube out of his mouth, he said Jesus told him he was saved before he passed.
He was sick. He had a mental issue. Our Lord is most mercifull. I believe that if he was in Christ, this tragedy couldnt seperate him from Lords grace. I will pray for you and your father.
Very well could be the drugs he was on if any. See, I had some minor anxiety due to my marriage. Anyway went to the Dr and the rest is history. The drugs they prescribed caused such horrendous harm and CAUSED unalive feelings so strong that it happened, I nearly died. So definitely check into that. Meds the meds.... they CAUSE SI

Remember, god knows all you're sins you have or will do when you accept him as lord and savior and ask him for forgiveness for your sins. My mother, a believer all my 42 years. It was rare to not see her in His Word or in prayer. August 6th 2016 she took her life unexpectedly. I was overseas in Ukraine on vacation when I got that call. Mind you, I know she is my mother, but even still, I've never known anyone that loved Jesus like my mother. I believe she is with Jesus. My mother was struggling with thyroid issues, was on serious medication. From what was told, there was a particular medication that interacted poorly with another medication, that threw my mother into a storm of mental anguish and hysteria. I was told that my mother was attacked day and night spiritually. She fought and prayed, but on the afternoon of the 6th of August in 2016, she sent my father to the store for tea. Once my father left on that errand, my mother opened the Word, knelt down and shot herself in her chest with my father's 38. I'm sorry that all I can share. I trust my King Jesus, and I give it all to Him.

Is Ending One’s Own Life an Unforgivable Sin? NO Because the majority of people who commit suicide are severely mentally ill. Normal people do not commit suicide. These people are not mentally sober and cannot be fully liable for their actions.
This is a four years old video. I am sure Sam Shamoun has changed his views on this. As I understand correctly, a lot are damned, as Jesus told Himself ( a few only will be saved, else Jesus was incorrect ). As per Catholic catechism, only a repentant sinner ( I mean those who repent from deep down their heart ) are saved. But a person commits suicide in unstable state of mind, provided he had no mortal sins, he is thought to be saved. I hope Sam Shamoun makes a new video.

I have read accounts that all Golden Gate Bridge jumpers (suicide attempts) who survived expressed deep regret during the 5 second fall. Even at the last half second if someone repents God hears.
If they survived their attempt at suicide tgey didnt commit suicide. But they did attempt it. Because they lived, they had opportunity to repent while they LIVED.

Go read 2 Cor 5: 18 -20. The Father forgave ALL sin at the cross and no longer imputed those sins to the person. Salvation is based upon believing 1 Cor 15: 1 -4 trusting that for salvation.
No one has been judged yet so no one is in heaven. Besides, heaven will be on earth after the judgment day. Earth will be rearranged and the New Jerusalem will be formed. Your grandpa will wake up from sleep on judgment day.

Good teaching. I lost a good friend 2 years ago to suicide it was tramatizing and he was of the catholic faith so his family thought he went to hell which made the situation much worse.
The Lord Jesus Christs mercy is infinite. It's not just about how evil someone is. it's also about the scoreboard between souls in heaven and souls in hell. Think of how pissed satan get when he is about to devoure a soul in hell, and it's snatched away while the soul repents to Jesus and the link to the body is not broken yet.
The Bible is clear, if you die in sin, you will be condemn. Once you die, you cannot ask for forgiveness. When blasaphim the Holy Spirit, you are making a conchoice choice. If we die and not repent of for every sin, God knows your heart. Suicide is the lack of faith in God. That is a very serious sin.

Christ died for sins past, present and FUTURE, He is God outside of time space and place and forgiveness and judgement is given outside of it as well. When you ask Christ for forgiveness ALL is atoned for. What you did, what you may do, what you are currently doing, paid in full by the blood of the lamb. Romans 6. Why worship a God if the terms of salvation are of such an anxious nature? Did I ask forgiveness enough? Did I ask soon enough? Should I ask again? This anxious plot is not of the Christ in scripture or heaven but of the devil in this world

Some may suffer an incurable disease leading up to their eternal life ad they still repent and secure their name in the book of life. Paul rights that he wishes to be dead, but that he suffers on for the sake of the church and for those that he loves in Christ. He says to die is gain, and yet he doesn’t kill himself. @ I’m a disciple of Christ and a preacher of God’s word. Show me book chapter and verse that states that a murderer can go to Heaven who dies in an unrepentant state. Just because the answer is a difficult one to hear doesn’t make it any less true. Can God make exceptions? of course he can, He’s the judge. But I wouldn’t want to stake my eternal life on God making an exception. It’s a sin to abuse your body, it’s on loan from God. Murdering that body is a sin. Suicide is very much a first world problem. We have people offing themselves who have never known a day of hunger, and have never struggled through a cold winter because we live in a world where food and heat are abundant. I don’t mean to trivialize the trauma people are going through but suicide is not the answer. If you read this and you’re struggling, get help. Don’t take your life. Get right with God and then live for Christ going forward, dedicate your energy to serving the Lord and the God of heaven and earth will take your life at the appropriate time.

Jesus told him he would be with Him in Paradise not Heaven. Jesus didn’t go to Heaven on that day. He went to the grave which is also known as Hades or Sheol. Paradise is a place in hell that’s not a place of torment. It’s a peaceful place that those who are in the Lord go after death to till Jesus comes back.

Talking about "rewards" and "rank" in terms of salvation and eternal life is hard for me. It feels icky. Dare I say, even if in complete ignorance, I care not for a reward or a rank, only that I do my best to please the Lord. I have never and will never have my actions be motivated by an eternal reward in heaven. I can be least in the kingdom of heaven, so long as I am present to worship Jesus for eternity. I care not for a reward, for eternity praising God is reward enough.

"Straight to hell" was how i understood it for a long time. Listening to Sam here, my understanding has shifted. I need to eat humble pie with one or two people I know.

I battle with this all the time My year without god was the hardest i had to do everything bad thing happened. What i understand is that when you are dying, for some poeple that die slowley, and the bond between you body and soul is weakening you are slowly entering the spiritual realm Jesus can slow time to a stop, really there is no time in the spirit. I know one girl who committed screwicide with pill, she said as she was dying her spirit left he body but was still tied. and she had a long conversation with the Lord, and he gave her the choice to come back or not. My brother was shot multiple times as it was happining he had the choice to shoot back, and the Lord said if you pick the gun up and shoot, you will go to hell, son, trust in me. My brother died, and the gun was left at his feet. He trusted in the Lord and is with him now. I believe.
@kennytinker6480 so I had written my brother off as going to hell. He was a mess up, and I was ready for when he would die. I didn't even cry when he died. When his girlfriend came over and said he had started to change 3 days before. He wanted to stop fornicating and get married. He stopped doing the bad things he had been doing. She said he changed. And when she was saying these things, I said lord is this true? Is he with you? And I heard yes, and the actions of that night were transmitted to my mind, kinda like a Bluetooth update, and I shed the first tears since his death.
Those who are thinking of suicide...please be patient and see a an experienced professional. Do your own research too, have good friends , eat healthy food and exercise. Praying to the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth and ask for forgiveness and guidance . Miracles happen all the time, miracles can happen instantly but can take longer time. Sin is forgivable if one repents, how can you repent if your already dead. once dead, the sacrifice of christ is no longer available. God said "I give you the Gift of Life, If you kill your self, YOU seperate yourself from Me." There must be a line where yes blaspheme is unforgivable while you are still alive. All other sins can not be forgiven once dead. There is no purgatory, you can not pray for the dead, you can not give money to the church to buy them out of purgatory or hell. Christs blood can only be applied while we are living. If you committed suicide, UMMM< You are dead and can not repent. So summary, DO NOT COMMIT SUICIDE< Simple. This makes no sense. I do not separate myself from God by dying, even at my own hand. If it wasn't my time, I might get sent back anyway. If I kill myself due to unbearable mental issues or grief or painful illness, it is my free will to do so. There are enough NDEs telling about suiciders getting sent back after a "pep talk" with Jesus. No condemnation.

People who do commit sucide does that when they don't live in the Spirit of Christ. However, I can't outrightly say what their judgement is going to be since we don't have a straightforward scripture on it as far as I know and I am not quite sure if it falls under the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

Murder is covered for a believer. Christ’s perfect performance is credited to the believer and the believer’s sin is covered by the birth, perfect life, death, and resurrection of Christ. There is no such thing as venal or mortal sin. ANY sin s Condemns us to hell, without the intercession of Christ. Trust in Him alone, not your performance, or your works.

@@Nevertroon Repentance requires a body, it's a movement, not a pure intellectual ascent to a proposition or mere regret. After death, you are "locked", in some sense. It's still very much a mystery though, and people have been saved after death. However, implying they "go straight to hell" is false. It is a horrible act, but there is no epistemological certainty on their ultimate fate.
Brethren, please hear me out. We all agree with the Word of God that the only unforgivable sin, is the blasphemy against God's Holy Spirit. But what does that even mean? Shouldn't we define it to some extent? Personally, I know that our bodies are the Temple of The Holy Spirit, so terminating God's dwelling place, where the Holy Spirit dwells, being sealed with us until the day of redemption.. shouldn't that be considered blasphemy of The Holy Spirit? If we don't define what that sin is. How do we know when it's committed or not?
My pastor delineated unintentional sin and a 'lifestyle' of sin. Christ told the adulterous woman to go and sin no more. I think he was saying don't live a lifestyle of sin (indulgence).

I went to a catholic school, i remember from our religion class that suicide or helping someone to die to cut short her suffering from an illness is a mortal sin for your soul. That's one of the reasons why i'm an atheist. I think you'll have many christians that won't agree with your analysis.

When you take your own life. It is murder. Your very last deed on earth was murder. So there is no means to ask forgiveness. The Bible is clear that murderess won't go to heaven. As a combat veteran, one who struggles with Combat PTSD. One who struggled with the Lord after what I saw in Afghanistan. And walking back to the Lord when I held my own son. I struggled with this because I had 6 of my brothers take their own life. Some I knew had faith and loved the Lord, some I knew didnt. My mind is a little at ease now for the ones who trusted in him. I still weep that I lost my faith, and I couldnt have ministered to them. But my best friend besides my wife, who thought I was crazy, has returned to Christ himself!! I was leading my father to Christ and got him to come to church with me. Such joy! then my brother died by his own hand and my father asked the pastor to officiate at his funeral. He refused saying that he could not bury a person who committed suicide. When he needed comfort in that moment he was kicked in the teeth by someone who should have shown compassion.
Respectfully this is actually a common tradition. While suicides are not assured of damnation it still does not look good for them and we ought not lie about that.
That’s why we serve Good not a man. People believe in religion instead of in Jesus Christ.

I actually have testimony to this. My father was bipolar and he ended his life. He had drank drano. They couldn't save him, and when they pulled the tube out of his mouth, he said Jesus told him he was saved before he passed.

Very well could be the drugs he was on if any. See, I had some minor anxiety due to my marriage. Anyway went to the Dr and the rest is history. The drugs they prescribed caused such horrendous harm and CAUSED unalive feelings so strong that it happened, I nearly died. So definitely check into that. Meds the meds.... they CAUSE SI

My mother, a believer all my 42 years. It was rare to not see her in His Word or in prayer. August 6th 2016 she took her life unexpectedly. I was overseas in Ukraine on vacation when I got that call. Mind you, I know she is my mother, but even still, I've never known anyone that loved Jesus like my mother. I believe she is with Jesus. My mother was struggling with thyroid issues, was on serious medication. From what was told, there was a particular medication that interacted poorly with another medication, that threw my mother into a storm of mental anguish and hysteria. I was told that my mother was attacked day and night spiritually. She fought and prayed, but on the afternoon of the 6th of August in 2016, she sent my father to the store for tea. Once my father left on that errand, my mother opened the Word, knelt down and shot herself in her chest with my father's 38. I'm sorry that all I can share. I trust my King Jesus, and I give it all to Him.

Because the majority of people who commit suicide are severely mentally ill. Normal people do not commit suicide.
These people are not mentally sober and cannot be fully liable for their actions.

I have read accounts that all Golden Gate Bridge jumpers (suicide attempts) who survived expressed deep regret during the 5 second fall. Even at the last half second if someone repents God hears.
If they survived their attempt at suicide tgey didnt commit suicide.
But they did attempt it.
Because they lived, they had opportunity to repent while they LIVED.

Go read 2 Cor 5: 18 -20. The Father forgave ALL sin at the cross and no longer imputed those sins to the person. Salvation is based upon believing 1 Cor 15: 1 -4 trusting that for salvation.
No one has been judged yet so no one is in heaven. Besides, heaven will be on earth after the judgment day. Earth will be rearranged and the New Jerusalem will be formed. Your grandpa will wake up from sleep on judgment day.

The Lord Jesus Christs mercy is infinite. It's not just about how evil someone is. it's also about the scoreboard between souls in heaven and souls in hell. Think of how pissed satan get when he is about to devoure a soul in hell, and it's snatched away while the soul repents to Jesus and the link to the body is not broken yet.

You don’t have the right to off yourself. If anyone had the right to off themselves it would’ve been Job and he didn’t do that. Paul rights that he wishes to be dead, but that he suffers on for the sake of the church and for those that he loves in Christ. He says to die is gain, and yet he doesn’t kill himself. If you’re still breathing, then that means God still has a purpose and plan for you, if God wanted you dead then you’d be dead.

Just because the answer is a difficult one to hear doesn’t make it any less true.
Can God make exceptions? of course he can, He’s the judge. But I wouldn’t want to stake my eternal life on God making an exception. It’s a sin to abuse your body, it’s on loan from God. Murdering that body is a sin. Suicide is very much a first world problem. We have people offing themselves who have never known a day of hunger, and have never struggled through a cold winter because we live in a world where food and heat are abundant.
I don’t mean to trivialize the trauma people are going through but suicide is not the answer.
If you read this and you’re struggling, get help. Don’t take your life. Get right with God and then live for Christ going forward, dedicate your energy to serving the Lord and the God of heaven and earth will take your life at the appropriate time.

Jesus told him he would be with Him in Paradise not Heaven. Jesus didn’t go to Heaven on that day. He went to the grave which is also known as Hades or Sheol. Paradise is a place in hell that’s not a place of torment. It’s a peaceful place that those who are in the Lord go after death to till Jesus comes back.

Talking about "rewards" and "rank" in terms of salvation and eternal life is hard for me. It feels icky. Dare I say, even if in complete ignorance, I care not for a reward or a rank, only that I do my best to please the Lord. I have never and will never have my actions be motivated by an eternal reward in heaven. I can be least in the kingdom of heaven, so long as I am present to worship Jesus for eternity. I care not for a reward, for eternity praising God is reward enough.

"Straight to hell" was how i understood it for a long time. Listening to Sam here, my understanding has shifted.

What i understand is that when you are dying, for some poeple that die slowley, and the bond between you body and soul is weakening you are slowly entering the spiritual realm Jesus can slow time to a stop, really there is no time in the spirit. I know one girl who committed screwicide with pill, she said as she was dying her spirit left he body but was still tied. and she had a long conversation with the Lord, and he gave her the choice to come back or not. My brother was shot multiple times as it was happining he had the choice to shoot back, and the Lord said if you pick the gun up and shoot, you will go to hell, son, trust in me. My brother died, and the gun was left at his feet. He trusted in the Lord and is with him now. I believe.

@kennytinker6480 so I had written my brother off as going to hell. He was a mess up, and I was ready for when he would die. I didn't even cry when he died. When his girlfriend came over and said he had started to change 3 days before. He wanted to stop fornicating and get married. He stopped doing the bad things he had been doing. She said he changed. And when she was saying these things, I said lord is this true? Is he with you? And I heard yes, and the actions of that night were transmitted to my mind, kinda like a Bluetooth update, and I shed the first tears since his death.
Those who are thinking of suicide...please be patient and see a an experienced professional. Do your own research too, have good friends , eat healthy food and exercise. Praying to the Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth and ask for forgiveness and guidance . Miracles happen all the time, miracles can happen instantly but can take longer time. Sin is forgivable if one repents, how can you repent if your already dead. once dead, the sacrifice of christ is no longer available. God said "I give you the Gift of Life, If you kill your self, YOU seperate yourself from Me." There must be a line where yes blaspheme is unforgivable while you are still alive. All other sins can not be forgiven once dead. There is no purgatory, you can not pray for the dead, you can not give money to the church to buy them out of purgatory or hell. Christs blood can only be applied while we are living. If you committed suicide, UMMM< You are dead and can not repent. So summary, DO NOT COMMIT SUICIDE< Simple. This makes no sense. I do not separate myself from God by dying, even at my own hand. If it wasn't my time, I might get sent back anyway. If I kill myself due to unbearable mental issues or grief or painful illness, it is my free will to do so. There are enough NDEs telling about suiciders getting sent back after a "pep talk" with Jesus. No condemnation.

People who do commit sucide does that when they don't live in the Spirit of Christ. However, I can't outrightly say what their judgement is going to be since we don't have a straightforward scripture on it as far as I know and I am not quite sure if it falls under the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

@@Nevertroon Repentance requires a body, it's a movement, not a pure intellectual ascent to a proposition or mere regret. After death, you are "locked", in some sense. It's still very much a mystery though, and people have been saved after death.
However, implying they "go straight to hell" is false. It is a horrible act, but there is no epistemological certainty on their ultimate fate.

Brethren, please hear me out. We all agree with the Word of God that the only unforgivable sin, is the blasphemy against God's Holy Spirit. But what does that even mean? Shouldn't we define it to some extent? Personally, I know that our bodies are the Temple of The Holy Spirit, so terminating God's dwelling place, where the Holy Spirit dwells, being sealed with us until the day of redemption.. shouldn't that be considered blasphemy of The Holy Spirit? If we don't define what that sin is. How do we know when it's committed or not?

My family history is plagued with suicide and attempts. For myself at my ultimate place of hopelessness, rather than choosing death, I called out to the lord to give me a reason to live and he did.

I went to a catholic school, i remember from our religion class that suicide or helping someone to die to cut short her suffering from an illness is a mortal sin for your soul. That's one of the reasons why i'm an atheist.

When you take your own life. It is murder. Your very last deed on earth was murder. So there is no means to ask forgiveness. The Bible is clear that murderess won't go to heaven. When you are dead, you can not repent from your sins. When you kill somebody and go to prison, you can still pray for forgiveness. Ones you are dead only judgement remain..

Also when we REJECT salvation through Jesus Christ, to the moment we die, we condemn ourselves to hell. God desires that NO ONE perish that ALL come to salvation.

She was a kind soul with deep psychological pain and couldn't take the fear that was being pushed upon us all. I have worried about her soul being in hell.
