Cool so good to know that I'm not the only one picking wild grapes for juicing and jelly.

Thank you for the video. We picked wild grapes so we’re going to give this a try.
Btw, your daughter is adorable. I sure miss youngsters. My grandkids are in their mid 20’s now. Time sure flies!

Thanks so much for posting your experiment with the tomato strainer - I was wondering about this. I have a big bowl of wild grapes just de-stemmed late last night and I paused after midnight to sleep on the next step. Yours is the first video I watched and I am so there with your experimenting. Well I am half way through - and riveted :) Live and learn and how wonderful to learn with others!

We're so glad you found the video when you did - I was hopeful the tomato stainer would work! It'll be good to know for next year, and I'll probably just stick with cheese cloth (and purple hands). Hope your jelly worked out!

I was very purple by the time I was done I also probably cooked some bugs lol, but I didn’t end up needing pectin I’m guessing because of the seeds and lack of water? Of course I’m watching how to videos after winging it 😅

The Weston Food Mill has 3 additional strainer attachments. One of them is specifically for berries.

Fantastic video. It helps to know if certain gadgets will work for multiple jobs. It seemed like a good idea to me also. It's my first time making grape jam/jelly from my own grapes, so I'm looking for inspiration. I've made other types of jams, but never with any fruit that I had to deal with larger seeds like my grapes have. I was thinking of trying a food mill. Do you think it will work, or will I end up with crushed seeds? Thanks for your thoughts.

The first time my daughter made apple jelly it got thick but didn't set. Our remedy, change the labels to apple syrup 😅. She actually had a couple of friends requests more 😊

I am sure someone has pointet]d this out you you already but just in case I will draw your attention to why it seemed to work and then didn't. The first time you tried it you turned the handle correctly. However, when you showed you daughter how to turn it you reversed the rotation and continued to trun it backwards from that point on.
