Hey all! There are a few scenes where it's hard to hear what we're saying and we added subtitles - if you'd like to enable those (without having captions for the entire video), please go to "Settings" and set the "Closed Captions" to "Afar." Thank you!
No worries lads. Regards from Adelaide, South Australia.
@Andrew Lin - the video game I was thinking of during the premiere was "9 Monkeys of Shaolin" on XBOX ($20 or $2 w/Game pass currently).
The combat style and terrain remind me of this hike and your Hong Kong trip and your training.
It bills itself as having "Action-packed battles, user friendly controls and an incredible atmosphere of great kung-fu movies of the 70s"
Also should be available on PlayStation 4(5?), Windows PC, Xbox and Switch.
When was this recorded? I loved the mist weather
Being disabled and therefore unable to do this myself, I deeply appreciate being able to live vicariously thru the boys 😅
I demand an 11-hour extended edition of this hike!
Andrew, "When the perspiration becomes precipitation" 💧🗾🚶♂🚶🚶♂🚶 This one really pushed everyone's limits! Good job guys! Japan never fails to impress! ⛩🗻 Thanks for another great adventure! 👍Thanks to Darrell too for helping you guys with this trip!
ngl, andrew stopping to gleefully explain all the mushrooms he sees and talking about the different plants while everyone else is being eaten alive by leeches made this so much goofier and more enjoyable than it already was. also, i just love getting to see so many views and sites i never could on my own, so i'm really thankful that you all took the time to capture that. loved it!
also, i'm glad robby got his stamps :D
Love all the conversations among you four climbing that steep incline 😊❤
Yay! New adventure video! 🤗 Though this one looked properly exhausting 🥵 But I love the contrasts you see during this trail, from wilderness to vending machines in the middle of nowhere to ancient shrines. It is really beautiful and interesting.
If you guys ever want to experience brutal but extremely beautiful nature trails with unique views and landscapes, come visit us in Norway sometime! 🫎 I don’t think you’ll sweat as much as in Japan but you may get rained or even snowed on 😝And in a foggy morning in a Norwegian forest you will definitely find out where the troll legends come from 🧌
The contrasts in terrain on this leg are incredible. You all had seperate and joint experiences to share. So enjoyed seeing this. Taking a first trip to Japan in September. 🥰
Astonishing mountain ridges and mysterious drifting mists captured with perfect cinematography! The struggles and joys of backpacking through a unique environment combining the natural with the spiritual with the perfect music to set the mood. The crew undergoes it all with their own brand of humor and perseverance. And what feasts to reward the weary! What a fantastic video - thanks for bringing us along! - Sue and Ton
Otherworldly, completely in awe . I hope you know the inspiration you provide your followers. Thank you
I found this channel a couple of months ago and can't get enough of the videos. Been waiting for this one!
I love how you combine hiking with spiritual selves. ❤❤ it’s make the journey even better and more rewarding
Adventure Archives Yosemite Hike will always be my favorite Vlog !!! 🙌🏻
thats OG Adventure Archives!
Thank you for coming Japan😊
I like your gentle atmosphere and beautiful images in your videos.
I’m Japanese, but I’m learning many things about my country from you.
ありがとうございます😌
ぜひまた遊びに来てください‼️
Your videos are so insightful, and the interaction among you is a breath of fresh air!
This video was so well done and narrated, it was almost like I was immersed in some sort of hybrid novel with unbelievable visuals. Thumbs up.
Hi guys. My husband and I visited Kumano Kodo a couple weeks ago.
I enjoyed this video so much as we know some parts of town.
By the way the bells you wondered around 16minute is a nell for 5 o'clock.
Throughout the country of Japan , there is a tradition to let people know at 5 pm.
I am from Japan and this bell just remind me to go home because it's 5 o'clock.
Life back there is so different from here the States and now. Kids are playing outside freely after school is done.
We've been waiting with anticipation. Kind regards from Adelaide, Adelaide, South Australia.
I’m totally speechless. This hike was beyond epic! Thank you all for sharing. I’m blown away by the cinematography. Amazing!
I unintentionally laughed at the bath moment. I love your way to censor it.😆
What an amazing trip! Loved all the beautiful shots. Never even heard of this Trail until your video. Would love to go to Japan one day such a beautiful country! Thanks for taking the time to make the videos we appreciate them!
I was going to watch this yesterday, but I knew this needed to be an event. Sat back with my dinner and a drink ready for this amazing video!! Super inspirational!!
I receive a lot of peace watching your videos. I feel like I am hiking with you all. Thank you
thank you for part 3! I just did the Kumano hike with 2 friends two weeks ago and parts 1 & 2 served as great references for us! unfortunately two of us had to sit out both Kogumotori-goe and Ogumotori-goe due to thunderstorms and illness so you have released part 3 at a perfect time for us to finish the adventure along with you and to "see" what we missed along the way. great job team AA!
Konbanwa, gentleman! ( I lived in Okinawa for a very brief moment in time 52 years ago!) This was an amazing experience that made me laugh and cry, a true mark of a great story!
Come to Australia, guys!
We have some amazing hikes out here. I did this hike / walked across the southern Kansai region back in 2017 :)
Bryan is such a mood here, I love it.
LOL I also love it, when he was dragging the poles, LOL. I love Bryan's sense of humor too.
"If everything goes according to plan, it can ruin life's experience." wow - what an amazing quote.
These guys are talented in so many ways the custom soundtrack mixed with each scene comes alive with each rewatching and you realize the layers and layers of thought and detail and organization and commitment that has gone into these episodes simply amazing work.. I don't think any other TH-cam channel can produce this type of quality content with such a small dedicated team.
Wonderful evening today, a hike with the adventure archives Boys! Thanks guys! Awesome trip!
This is the first time coming across your channel, but from the intro, to the dialogue, and the way it’s filmed even reminds me so so much of the wonder that I had as a kid watching PBS and all the naturalists that made their own educational and adventuring shows on there. Those shows still exist in some capacity, but It’s really cool knowing that TH-cam kind of makes it possible for the next generation to find stuff like this and get inspired to explore the world around them. Thanks for doing what you do :)
another great one from the AA team, glad to know that there are more Japan trips coming along. really enjoyed this style of video.
Thanks for sharing this adventure. Making it goal of mine to hike part (heck maybe all) of this trail. Thanks ahead of time for inspiring me!
Well done as always. Music and scenes perfectly done. Bravo.
Thanks so much for sharing.
God Bless. 👍🙂🙏
Loved it! Andrew, you're one tough cookie! I can't imagine how miserable that must have been with your knee and tailbone!!
Any chance of going on the Nakasendo Trail? I've done it in May 2023 for two weeks. Best time of my life.
Very very interesting Channel and nice Video. Thank you for the great entertainment. Greets and respect from Potsdam, Germany.
Thank you, I had a great time. If you ask the inn the day before, they will make you rice balls instead of breakfast.
From Japan
Been savoring this video slowly one half hour at a time.
This has to be my favourate video. this is so surreal experience .This is heaven . Keep it up gyus . Best of luck .👍
been looking forward to this since the release of the last two parts!
Incredible episode - the last portion of the trail seemed like a full-on sufferfest in the tropical storm! Your meal at the hostel looked incredible and I know what you mean about a good shower at the end of a long trail - gives you faith in the future
Do not eat the mushrooms!! You have me screaming this as I watch! I so love and miss Japan. You did an excellent job of capturing the countryside, which many don’t often get to experience. I miss the vending machines in the unexpected places, something magical about them.
This three part series has been so fun to watch. I love the dynamics of your group, the filmmaking and storytelling. It has a nice pace to it and is equally relaxing and interesting to watch. Hope to see more like this. Good job guys keep it up!
This was a terrific three-part series and epic journey. I especially enjoyed the music especially the uplifting flute music at the end.. honestly better music and composition than most movies
What an Amazing Adventure ❤ Loved every moment you all pushed, pulled, with stood Accomplished your Inner strongest you❤
Hats off to the Yakuza sound bite at the end, truly cultured boys!
Amazing landscapes and nature you hike in here😊😊😊
I really liked your chatting together as you walked. Vert interesting.
Thank you for giving us this series, I really do appreciate the effort and everything you do while hiking those beautiful mountains, specially this ancient trail, its just so magnificent. Thank youuuu. ❤ Keep up the good work guys, 頑張ります!!❤ 😊
46:10 the jingle is the "time to go home" music for kids. Most towns in Japan have them
I love this Japan series! hopefully you guys have a chance to explore all interesting Japan trail in the future 😊
I LOVE Japan and AA videos!! and it's 2 hours! I'm so excited to watch this
In Washington State we have this trail called Mailbox Peak Old Trail with a mailbox at the top, 4000 feet of elevation gain in 2.2 miles, I welcome you guys to try that one.✌
Robbie I’m surprised that you said that may be the longest uphill in your life. How easily you forgot the climb to Mt. Kahtadin on the Helon Taylor trail! Just over 3300 feet elevation gain in just under 3 miles!
Now that was one beautiful and green landscape. So wet and slippery along the way. I was feeling your exhaustion. You guys did so very well. Thank you for showing us the incredible beauty of this country, Japan. It was amazing! 🙏
I am hiking the kumano kodo myself, and watching the videos along the way in the hotel. Tomorrow I will test my luck against the big mountain. Thank you for sharing this experience.
thank you for showing us the journey through kumano kodo
Such a fantastic series! Cant wait for the rest of the Japan adventure!
So beautiful, thank you!
Great hike. 3 days of hiking does take it's toll. The after-hike meals are worth it though.
Epic,well done guy's,what a pilgrimage
You guys are just the perfect amount of nerdy! Thank you for letting us follow you along this journey.
Now I wanna do this trail!
The chime that plays around 5 p.m. is broadcast to encourage kids to come home.
Loved it! I felt so bad for you guys on that big uphill, though. That had to be so brutal. I said, their next trip is going to be to like, the Salt Flats and they'll ride in air-conditioned golf carts, with huge tubs of lemonade and iced tea. 😂
What scenery! You nailed it when you said you could imagine seeing a dragon flying over the misty hills and mountains. It totally looked like a scene from a fantasy genre videogame or movie. So cool!
Congratulations guys! You earn those views, both the ones you see on your adventures and your videos here on TH-cam. 👍🏻
Hello, doing this hike in October and super excited. Can I ask what month you hiked this?
Loved this series, can't wait for the next adventure :)
10:31 that shot is absolutely stunning
46:39 That's the chime in small towns to let school kids know it's time for curfew :)
one of your best series yet, great balance of nature and entertainment. Cant wait for the next adventure
These videos are amazing. We loved watching them. Thank you for sharing and for all the effort hiking and editing. What time of year was this in 2023? It is like I could feel the heat.
Hey! This trip was late August into september
Gosh I discovered your channel with this saga and it was SOOO good, congratulations for such an amazing channel!! Can't wait to see the other Japanese adventure.
Thank you!
Andrew, how do you manage to bear this wet glasses all the time😂 I wear glasses too and can't handle contactlenses but hiking in the rain means a cap for me so I can see through my glasses and you are sitting there with a cookie and dont give a damn about your wet glasses. Phenomenal 😂
Thank you for filming this in such a long format. I'm planning my Komono Kodo in November and these videos have given me the conviction that I can do this (I'm trying to do more hiking as I love it but I have knee issues so have to make sure I'm capable) - Though I'm glad I'm only walking the first two videos worth as the (well named) bone breaking slope looks a bit beyond my injured knees! (I'll be finishing up in Yunomine Onsen to soak off the hike and then bus to the other shrines)
This series has been amazing. Seriously, how many batteries and SD cards did you guys carry?!
I was planning to do this hike for Golden Week and you guys finished the series just in time!
A Golden Opportunity.
This was great. More Japan
What an awesome adventure + series, thanks boys!
yes i have eaten a banana on the trail. I have a video of me sitting under a coat as a tarp in the rain :) and had a good think about something i could bring instead of my rain coat to use and settled on a small tarp instead. left my peel on the trail as its compostable.
Thanks for this amazing content, it helped a lot to prepare the hike !
I'm guessing that is way the trails go up the steep sides of the mountains, to put you into that meditative state.
Thanks!
I laughed at your dad's friend from France. We always say that weak coffee tastes like sock water! Lol
We also say it tastes like donkey piss!
What’s the song 1:27:55 ??
Love it and don’t see it on your music site.
Btw you have something special. Being able to share this experience with your buds.
Awesome adventure!!!!
This is my first episode that I am basically viewing "live" lol. All the others its from the pas t as I recently found this super great channel. Lots of positive vibes, professional guys, fun, strong friendship....Released 19 hrs ago, 1st April, 2024
Amazing series guys! Absolutely gorgeous! Part 3 made me rethink if I could do it!! 😂
Top three waterfalls I went to in Japan, beautiful
love from sri lanka
Fantastic series ❤
i would like to join you someday
Subbed.
Can’t help but to wonder about electrolytes. Do you put them in your water? That much sweating you lose electrolytes. Plus all the sugar consumption is not a great stable energy. More protein and fat would be better but harder to carry. It would keep the blood sugar more stable. Love this channel. It’s my life line to sanity in our crazy world. Thank you.
Is there any way to get the song from 1:29:00 or so? It's awesome!
soooooooooo f good
What rain jacket is Andrew wearing?
I always thought DAN VALKENS was a made up name whenever the guys did their skits at the end of the video. until today when I saw a thank you was dedicated to him lol
One day!
