Say what you will about the commercialization of competitive gaming and the amount of money pumped into these events, I’m still glad it exists (tbh it was probably inevitable) because it allowed people an alternate avenue to get into sports without the physical aspect. Which is ok by my book, the most important thing is the community aspect and interaction with other people via a screen or otherwise. I for one am a big fan of fighting games and love to practice strategy and compete in them.
