Fd rx7s have amazing suspension from factory, you literally just spend good money on coilovers and align it right and that's it, Mazda truly hit perfection when they designed and built it.

20b turbo plus sequential is a heavenly combo. That thing rips through gears and looks like sooo much fun to thrash. Makes me want another rotor

Ever since I saw this car at WTAC 2010, I have loved it so much. Good especially when it is racing at the local track days. Can testify to the MCA mentality of softer being better.
I did notice that the turbo mount, bolted to the water housing is cracking the alloy.

Drew's gotta love hearing that kind of glowing feedback, it made me happy and it's not even my car! What an incredible machine they've built, really glad they've kept the rotary heart as well. :)

It looks like that thing rotates so well on throttle! Settles down real nice. Wonder if that's something to do with the soft set up he mentions early. Looks really fun to drive!

The way MCA setup suspension is drastically different to other suspension brands for example the fujita engineering and re amemiya rx7s in japan run 16kg front 18kg rear springs for track focused cars, if you look at ohlins coilivers they recommend matching spring rates at 11kg front and rear on their street coilivers and 14kg front and rear for track, where as MCA recommend a much softer rear at 16kg front 8kg rear for track duties and a softer 14kg 8kg rear for street cars... The FD seems to handle well with all different types, it really is an amazing platform.

Till this day when I'm going to a track day and plan on going 9ths or more I take my fd. As much as I love my Porsche 911 turbo even with the suspension upgrades I still feel more connected with my fd. I left the Porsche at pretty much stock power levels. Just did the basics exhaust and tune. But the steering feel I get in the fd still feels better than my Porsche. But this summer I'll be able to see how the lotus emira compares with the steering feedback with the fd.

Nice car a lot of time and work and money has gone into that you dont see cars built that well very often. An i work on these things on the daily we make that sort of power or even more upto 750hp at the wheels using 13b semi pp setups though. But that thing is a well oiled machine by the looks one of the nicer looking cars to drive iv ever seen well done from me at High Performance Rotaries NZ. I do know a guy building a rx3 circuit car from an old Perkins v8 supercar and 20b le mans engine thats possibly the nicest rotary circuit car iv ever seen as well hopefully see that finished in a few years.
