What size anchor did you use and did you use two anchors or one? I just bought two of these systems for my 14 foot flat bottom I'm getting ready to install and not sure what size anchors I should get.
I bought an older 12 foot v-hull boat that I love and have been upgrading, 1 thing that I am missing is an anchor pulley system. I can't seem to find one anywhere, I have to drop the anchor a lot in the lake that I frequent and it's a pain having to pull it up full of sediment every time I want to move to another spot. Anyone know of any other system that's still out there for sale?
I'm not sure why you can't buy them any longer. (They were available for purchase at the time of uploading this vid) They are a great product. I would search your local swap shop/ marketplace for a used one. The only other option I know is an electric but most of those are slow

I just installed the same winch on my boat and it won't release, it cranks but won't release, I can pull out some rope but it's tough and yes I'm using the release knob lol is it supposed to be installed on only one side of the boat, any thoughts?
Are you sure the rope hasn't gotten wrapped around the reel where it meets the base itself? I've had that happen a few times and it took me forever to figure it out. Hope this helps
It shouldn't as long as the the rope is running in guides. I keep watch of the reel as I wind up and make sure it stays on the reel. Winding fast will sometimes get it to jump off track and get caught
@@BeardsAndBowsOutdoors I took it apart , they apparently had the nut way to tight , I loosened the screw under the cap 1/4 turn and now it realases perfectly. Thanks for the help

Yes you can go up in weight. I have a 10lb on mine. If it will slide into the holder and your rope is strong enough if should be fine. The 10lb has room in the holder for a bigger one
You keep it short and sweet. Other TH-cam guys give TMI. Are you in ZZ Top? Haha just kidding. My boat is a V-hull. I hope there's room and the angle of the receiver will work. Thanks for the great video.

Not sure if anyone else is having this issue but I've gone through TWO of these that have failed in less than 30 days! Total POC! Your setup looks great and I hope you get good use but I can't keep them working. First one failed with internal screeching, second one LOCKED up and release, wouldn't 'release'. Absolutely and completely disappointed in this product.
I have 2 and the 1 I have had for years. Both still work great. However, I've had issues with mine when my rope jumped the spool and got wound up behind the spool.

For the most part yes. I usually fish lakes or river sloughs.. if in strong current, I'll use another anchor

That's a good question. I haven't noticed it myself but I will the next time I'm in current
Does it all bind up at the bottom from being at an angle like that i just cut one off my boat all rusted up but was thinking about getting a new one
It hasnt so far, I've tested it quite a few times. My old one on my other boat wouldnt ever bind up either
