Great video I love newts ! Found out smooth newt in my living room once ! I guess the cat bought it in ! But was unharmed and I released him into garden :) I used to keep Japanese fire belly newts when I was a teenager! I'm 39 now :) keep up great work on your channel.
I dug my pond out 2 years ago and this year as with the other too I cleared the top weed as it was taking over a bit. I removed a couple of old apples in the pond and as I did I saw a newt swimming past....omg! I can't tell you what this meant to me! I never thought it would happen
In the process of re-invigorating an old pond and, today, found a newt. Currently unsure if it was a smooth or palmate newt. I'm very impressed with your videos.
If you like, send a photo to the email found in my 'about' page and I'll see if I can identify it; google might be of help too of course, but regardless I'm happy to help. Thanks for the kind words too by the way :)
Omg and when I tried catching them from my grandma's pond as a kid I had no idea what they were so I just figured they must be a frog development stage between the tadpole and the final frog form 😅
Is it usual to have smooth newts in a pond so late in the year (mid to late November)? I currently have at least three Smooth Newts in my tiny (1.5 m2) pond. Great video.
A wonderful watch thank you and my dog seems to find them and show me he has not harmed them yet just licked them ... dummy . So I decided to search and this vid came up great video all round 👊🏿.
That’s adorable. I had pet newts but they were master escape artists! They managed to climb out of a closed tank, travel down 4 flights of stairs, where I found them crawling around the kitchen.
Hey I have a question me and my freinds put about 100 goldfish in a large pond and there’s a lot of newts there were afraid sense we can only find so many goldfish and we think that the newts ate them please help!

Nice story! I have found many newts in the house who have crawled in from the garden, but unfortunately they dry out.
Really enjoyed watching this, ever since I got two eastern newts last summer I've been obsessed with newts! Keep up the good work 👍
Newts in my opinion, are probably the most curious and the most humble residents you'd find in your surroundings.
Great content
Appreciated :)
Clever little chap bless him. Very educational
