    Lord, lord, lord!!! I'm so happy to see this! Thank you so much for uploading this, on here. I'm so sorry they parted friendship for so long; but, I'm so glad they've shaken hands, in time to still make their beautiful music together. It would have been too sad if either of them had died without forgiving each other. Thank you both for the memories your music brings back.

    I love Fats, he's the only piano player who influenced me as a bassist (especially when I played Black Gospel music). He always had a swing that many of his contemporaries lacked, songs like: "I'm Walkin'" come to mind. There's no way to listen to Fats and not dance, It's impossible!

    The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame should have opened the induction ceremony in '06 (after Katrina) with the opening chords of Walking to New Orleans, curtain opens with Fats Domino at the piano. That would have been amazing.

      I feel the same way and thought of this - I think Jerry Lee was the 2nd choice if not the 3rd ( Im sure Chuck was asked but it’s said he was very difficult to deal with and never knew how he would perform). I think Fats just didn’t like to travel anymore. I read an interview in Rolling Stone when Fats was in NYC in the early 2000’s how uncomfortable he was out of his element that he cooked his own food in the hotel room.

    Isn't "Rocket 88" by Ike Turner the first rock'n roll song ever?

    • @devonmoors
      @devonmoors 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      llSoAmusingll So many recordings made especially during the forties both within the Blues field and Hillbilly field that could have been called Rock 'n' Roll if this term had been 'invented' back then.Try 'That's Allright Mamma' , a 1948 recording by Arthur Crudup,'Chicken shack boogie', also 1948 recording by Amos Milburn or even a 1938 recording ,Roll'em Pete', by Big Joe Turner plus many more.All could have been called,'Rock 'n' Roll!

    blues and boogie woogie music, nothing like the rock and roll that buried them.
    if you call this rock and roll you might as well call Louis Armstrong rock and roll
