Wasn’t a carb problem. Just needed to turn the idle screw down on the right side of the carb. This model bike has a plastic knob to make adjustments for idle convenient.
Used this bike to take the MSF beginner course. Great little beginner bike. Not sure what it’s like to live with, but even for a big guy like me (6’1” 250lbs) it’s a hoot to drive
Gotta take off the wind screen on 250s because they'll shake when they hit 60mph. It's scary. Once it's off the wind pushes the bike down and it's like the rock of Gibraltar
I dont allways use my choke but when i do. . I leave it on dor the whole ride. Not only have to listen to someone straight abusing a litrle motor but then the wind...Done

Hi I was reviewing for a friend with less experience, and that makes me qualified, because i was helping him in his decision process. he too is a big guy and I was sure he would have wanted more fun and capable.
As someone who owned this bike myself, I would find it very hard to talk about this bike without pointing out how small and basic it it. Every other bike I've ridden has felt like a Cadillac compared to this. It's not a bad bike per say, but his review is perfectly fine and definitely honest

I rode a GZ 250 for my MSF course, it’s a perfect beginner/learners bike!

I bought some used bikes with wind shields during 80.s, but took those off. They are like sails when there are wind gushes.
The owner mentioned that carb needed adjusting, and even after closing the choke it still idled high
It's a good motorcycle, you can't ask for more from a 250
Every comment was about the idle. What about the wind noise? Jesus, why do people upload videos when there's more wind noise than content?

this is the bike my dad got me and I'm so excited to ride it. cant yet cause I dont have either of my licenses but I'm training on a dirt bike

1st gear is so hard for me on this bike.
You should probably stick to a 250, my friend just got an 01 and it's the easiest bike I've ever ridden.
