- "And Then There Were None" (1945), directed by René Clair and based on Agatha Christie's novel, is a classic mystery thriller. Ten strangers are lured to a secluded island under different pretexts, only to discover they are accused of past crimes. As an unseen presence accuses them through a recorded message, paranoia and fear intensify. One by one, the characters succumb to a series of murders that mirror a nursery rhyme. With a stellar ensemble cast and clever storytelling, the film keeps viewers on the edge of their seats, delivering a suspenseful and memorable cinematic adaptation of Christie's masterful whodunit.
Please before giving a thumbs down, most of these movies are in terrible condition, so don't expect miracles! I use a lot of electricity to enhance them as best as I can. I hope you enjoy what I do. Thank you for watching, you are appreciated greatly!
If you have any requests, please comment and I will do my best for you. As long as the requested movies are in the public domain, I can convert to colour and upload here for you to enjoy.
This movie took 10 hours to convert to colour at HD resolution. I first removed as much grain as possible with de-noising.. After that, I upscaled it to HD followed by AI colourising. I hope you enjoy the end result!
This movie is in the public domain. There are also many other uploads of this movie across TH-cam channels and the archive in it's original black and white form.

Please be kind with the comments. I do my best and I know it’s not perfect. Each film takes between 8 and 20 hours to enhance, burning through a lot of electricity in the process. You get to watch them free and if you don’t like them, there are millions of movies you can watch on TH-cam across many other channels.
I work from home, a single PC doing all the work. I appreciate that you have come to the channel and hope you enjoy the movie. I know some people really don’t like colourisation and I did decide to do the entire collection in enhanced black and white (4k 60fps), TH-cam removed my monetisation so I cannot earn back what I've paid out in electric and equipment. I have had no option but to remove all the black and white enhanced movies, I don't think TH-cam understands the work I put into them and feel I did what other channels do, download from the archive and upload them to their channels without any work done.
In the colourisation, I understand, there may be some grey ears, some of what looks like blue eyeliner on actors and some parts of colourisation that doesn’t turn out as good as I would like. I am doing my best and hope you appreciate the effort, thank you for watching :)
If you have any requests, please let me know. As long as a film is in the public domain, I can enhance it in 4K and colourise it in HD.
Thank you so much for your patience and hard work. Enjoyed watching the movie
I didn't realise you did the colourization yourself!
I will take that into consideration and think again. Must be painstaking work. Thank you.
Thank you for uploading 🙏🏻
Thank you for all that you do!
@@SimonWard1 your comment truly touched my heart. You are one of the few, unique good people in today’s selfish world. Thank you 🙏
It’s embarrassing how many times I have seen this movie love it
@@Hypnobunny1 yes, I’ve seen every version. It’s Shakespearean in its scope and depth of perception. I can imagine so many post modern adaptations across so many cultures and situations - at bottom it exposes the bottomless depravity of mankind, and two women. lol.
Best colorized version on this channel. I was bowled over how appropriately it was done 👍
Glad you like it! Thank you for a wonderful positive comment :)
Thank you! I used to read Agatha Christie at the beach on my summer vacation as a teenage, trying to find out who the criminal might be. The acting is good, too.
You are very welcome, thank you for watching :)
I LOVE EVERY ITERATION of this classic Christy tale!
The brilliance of Lady Agatha Christie.
Ten little n***** boys
This was actually preceded by a Sherlock film, 1933 Study in Scarlet.
She was made a Dame by the Queen so she was Dame Agatha Christie.
She was Lady Mallowan by marriage to her husband Sir Mallowan, a British archaeologist.
So, she wasn't Lady Christie (the surname of her first husband)
@@winonamassingill7895 I believe Sir Arthur Conan-Doyle had a story he wrote in 1892 or so that this story was inspired by.
I chose to watch this version because it was colorized. I've seen this movie, and all the remakes, more than once. It has an experienced, talented cast, excellent production values and Agatha Christie's stories never bore you. Her stories are like operas. They can be viewed many times w/out tiring one's imagination. I also like seeing the dress, the furniture, the sky, et al as it was when I was a child. You see, I'm older than the movie. Thanks to the poster for the colorization and the work performed to get this flickering shadow of history here for you to watch.
Great colouring ❤ I can and have watched this movie again and again. Thanks 👍
I'm glad you like it, thank you for watching and for your positive comment, thank you :)
seeing this in color was nice , thanks -- love this movie
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you for watching :)
@@thomasmayk Then watch a different version. Some people prefer color.
Anyone criticizing the color can watch it in b/w instead of being cruel. I am enjoying this one. Thanks! 👍
Thank you! I am currently converting all the colourised movies in the collection to black and white in 4K :)
Thanx! This is such a classic.
Fantastic! Love the B/W but this is also great to see! 🏆
Glad you enjoyed it!
Roland Young as Topper, one of the funniest films, in my opinion.
WOW the color is beautiful! I’ve watched it so many times in black and white since high school and envisioned what colors they would be wearing. Very nice! Love classic murder mystery
Thank you for watching and glad you liked the colourising. Always nice to have a positive comment, thank you :)
The best version of "And then there were none". I have a DVD copy in original black and white. I love the color version of a timeless classic.
Wow thank you :) I'm really glad you enjoyed the colorisation, it makes it all worthwhile when I get positive comments, greatly appreciated :)
Ciao Simon. Just loving your perpetual cinephile research, indeed! G.
Thank you for watching, more to come :)
Worth watching if just for Barry Fitzgerald at the very end. "Never should trust a woman".
Amazing job!
Thank you :) I do my best, sometimes not great but always nice to have a positive comment, appreciated :)
I didn't think the color was bad ? I liked it ! And the movie is a favorite 🥰
Thx for the links to the b&w original.
Magical. I tip my hat to you, Sir 🇦🇺👍🫶
Thank you so much for watching and glad you enjoyed it :)
Thank you for your wonderful job!
My pleasure! Thank you for watching :)
From: Omaha Ne. thank you for having this old movies ready to see from a color perspective "they are great" . I just finished watching "Fatty". If I may ask, if you can colorize more of his work, thank you.
Thank you for watching and glad you enjoyed it. If you can give me any requests, ie, movie titles, I will try my best for you, thank you :)
Oh my gosh, there are so many, but if I can only pick one. If you can, it must be "Fatty's Plucky Pup." Luke is the star in this one. Thank you again.
@@alexanderrazuri967 The only one I can find is this one here archive.org/details/silent-fattys-plucky-pup would that be the one?
Dear Sir, Yes, that is the short. It's a funny one. Thank you again.
I'm working on it now for you. The process is a long one. I have denoised the video, I will now convert to 60 frames per second followed by upscaling to HD and the final process will be colourising. It should be ready within the next 6 to 10 hours. I will post the link to the TH-cam video here for you.
Murder most foul. 😱😱😱😳😳😳
😮😮 color picture..😢😢 I love black and white movies
It does clearly say colour in the title and the original black and white version is in the description.
There's a lot of work went into colourising this.
It can be stressful and time consuming but this one was actually quite straight forward. The one I'm working on now has taken 72 hours so far, which is a record! I'm glad you appreciate the work I've done, thank you for watching :)
I don't know how this all works. Once you colorized this film couldn't you have just taken the colour out to make a black and white version. I love the B&W you just made but I'm curious why you couldn't just hit black and white and there would be the copy. A brief explanation if you get around to it. Also I've been looking for this particular version on disc only to find out it's your own talented version.
I have started to do both on the later downloads but the older ones that I uploaded, I colourised but storing them was impossible, each one being around 40GB, I basically ran out of space so the only copy is on TH-cam and can only download in HD max. If I knew back then what I know now, I would have started with both colour and black and white and also bought a couple of storage drives, which I have now. The process starts with upscaling the original to 4K / 60fps that gives me the black and white version, I then colourise this upscaled version. It has been a massive learning curve, if I could go back in time, I would do it the new way and make sure I had plenty of storage :) I would have saved a lot of time and have hard copies of all the work I have done. So you are 100% correct and I am a little bit silly for not thinking things through from the start lol.
@@SimonWard1 this just fascinates me. And as any of us do something new don't we all learn along the way. Perseverance has certainly helped you discover perhaps faster, cleaner and more efficient ways of doing your craft but isn't that the difference between an amateur and a professional. And you are a professional. 👍
I like it but in black white it was more spooky
For those who want the black and white version, I have restored the original black and white version to 4K at 60fps here th-cam.com/video/9UcLT72eBPA/w-d-xo.html it took over 30 hours to do, I hope you enjoy it :)
Fact. Fact. Fact. Lol

You’re very talented and I’m sure patient trying to restore these old classics. Well done as always!
Thank you for your kind words, greatly appreciated. It does get quite stressful sometimes when a movie doesn't turn out and I have to trash it after 8 to 14 hours of enhancing but eventually I get there with almost all the movies I try. Some take 3 or 4 attempts, others I am just very lucky with, they turn out as I hope. I will do as many as I can until I run out of movies. I have a new project planned, time lapse videos, camera is on the way, looking forward to it. I will mix up the channel a bit :)
@@SimonWard1Very exciting! I can’t wait!
@@SimonWard1 Looking forward to the time lapse!!!
Thank you SO MUCH for all the time and energy u donate, and all the frustration u endure, to provide these classics free of charge!
@@Bernacide Thank you so much for your kind words. Currently have another 6 movies for the weekend, re-enhancing all the colourised versions into 4K black and white at 60fps. Also waiting on a red pepper to completely disintegrate for a reverse time-lapse, it has taken 24 days so far, I think I need more heating to make these time-lapse videos take less time :)
I ❤ when I can find a classic b&w film that has been colorized...it only adds another layer of interest!~imo
Judith Anderson played Mrs. Danvers in Hitchcock's "Rebecca".
She was an experienced, talented, superb actress in every persona she assumed.
What happened to the cat when they all left the Island?
😲
He feasted on all the mice and rabbits and enjoyed having that great big house and the island to himself
Brilliant
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it :)
1974 they brought us into the auditorium at school and showed us this movie, the only time they ever did that, better than sitting in class and I liked it.🇺🇸
Loved thiscolorization has a nice warm look to it. Like story so much epecially ith louis Hayward would watchin black and white or color. I like thi endg better than the true one on PBS.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. The enhanced black and white version I have done is waiting for a copyright removal, it should go live soon. Thank you for watching :)
Good grief. I’m nearly getting sea sick 🤢 myself from watching the first of this movie. 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢
There are several colorized versions of this movie out there. This one is the best. Good job.
Thank you so much for your positive comment, greatly appreciated! It makes me very happy when I get good feedback. Glad you enjoyed it, thank you :)
I love this film but only watched it in black and white.
Thank you
You are welcome, thank you for watching :)
Wonderful colouring and an excellent movie ❤
I've watched this movie many times. In B&W. Even though the ending is quite at odds with Christie's story, it is well written, has great atmosphere and excellent acting. Echoes from a time before Hollywood became a debauched anti-White clownshow.
very enjoyable Rene Clair American film in B&W
i got the dvd in b/w
I really enjoyed this colourized version tremendously. Thank you for making this possible. Great job.
You're very welcome!
The best movie version of the novel.

Oooo these thriller mystery crime tv shows and movies aga t h a Christy my mother and i abousely loved them ❤❤❤😢😢😢 the real who don it mystery shows 🤗🤗🤗☺☺☺🙏🙏 they dont make them like that any more 😢😢😢
I think the acting in this one is outstanding, especially when we consider that back in the day, there was limited effects and no CGI. Actors and actresses from the past were truly amazing. Thank you for watching and glad you enjoyed it :)
Oh sure! After I just watched this film on TH-cam in black and white, you post it in color. Bad timing.
I uploaded the colourised version back on February 8th. I enhanced the black and white version to 4K at 60fps on March 8th. I get the movies mostly from Wikipedia or the archive before enhancing them and uploading to my channel. You most probably watched the black and white version in it's original form on another channel before this version was suggested to you, as a guess?

We had a friend who got stung by a bee and she died of anaphylactic shock before her husband could even get her into the car 🚘 to take her to the hospital. He later married a single woman who lived in our town and they had our Sunday morning meetings in their home. 😊
Dear Mr Simon Ward, THANK YOU for uploading a Colourised film version of Agatha Christie's "And Then There Were None". It is considered her most popular mystery novel written in 1939. I have this original 1945 film version (B&W) on DVD, which is considered the best as there have been many film versions to date of which I have seen many. I am a keen reader of novels & viewer of nostalgic films; particularly the mystery / thriller / suspense genre. I will peruse your other uploaded restored films within your Your Tube catalogue. Keep up the good work as it is very much appreciated as per the other comments listed by viewers. Many Thanks again - TOM D.
