I’ve watched your videos for years now. I have finally built my first gaming PC. Growing up playing the MX vs AtV franchise and reflex being my favorite of them, seeing Mx bikes has made me build my first PC. Yesterday I played Mx bikes for the first time, being really good at Reflex back in the day I figured I would pick up quick… mistaken 😂 game is very challenging, but sooo great at the same time. It makes me feel like I’m really riding the bike. Thank you for making it look soooo easy. I appreciate it 😂
The best way I've found to think about direct lean is this: your bike will lean EXACTLY proportional to your stick position at 100%. So wherever your stick is, that's exactly where the bike lean is, instantly. This is equivalent to having extremely quick steering response. At anything below 100%, there is a delay between when you move your stick & when the bike gets to that lean position. So if you suddenly move your stick halfway left, it will take a sec before the bike gets to that position (how long it takes depends on how low your direct lean is - a lower direct lean = a longer delay. Low numbers are generally good for people who are too twitchy imo). This also applies to how quickly it returns to upright at zero input. That's why so many people just say it's how fast it returns to upright. But it's more than that. I could be completely wrong but my testing seems to point to this being true.
I dont think direct lean has anything to do with how far u can lean ur bike over, thats what the gain slider is for, direct lean only controls how fast ur bike is able to return to upright position, ex: if u had it set to 100%, coming out of a corner ur bike will return to upright very quickly compared to if u had it at 0% you would have to manually return it to upright postition with ur analog stick
That's true, but a higher direct lean also lets your bike lean over faster as well as standing back up. If you play at low direct lean you'll notice it takes longer to get leaned over
interesting video troy I'm curious what everyone else uses too. and if i should try going higher idk. I'm a decent rider at this point i have about 450-500 hours in game and iv played on a direct lean of 13-15 i use a xbox one controller my best lap was a 1.45 roughly might half to do some testing after this video see if i can get closer to that faster 1.40 . Great video and keep em comin...
I can't get the leaning in turns no matter what I do. I played for 20 hours with a leaning aid and now I'm trying without it but I crash in every turn. Can someone help me?
Damn an on screen indication or tinestamps with the different direct lean percentages wouldve been nice. As much as i like your videos I dont always have time to watch a full vid

Love the video Troy. Can you make a video on a basic setup of suspension etc and what you look for? No idea how to start with bike builds
it’d be sick if you did a challenge where you race with 0 direct lean!!
If anyone wants to learn about Jesus Christ reply
npc 😂

comon jannn we a bunch of moto boys dont use scary words brother ! haha great vid from the jan once again
It seems like my prediction from a few videos ago saying deeg and LK was correct
Lean help is the most important setting. Turn it on and see how slow it is lol. Direct lean makes a difference but not near what lean help does
well nobody runs lean help
