    I had the same reaction to Amouage when I first got into niche fragrances. Interlude Man, Epic Man, and another one I can't remember. I thought Amouage just wasn't for me. Now I'm coming back around to them and am appreciating them more. Now I can't get enough of Silver Man. I guess, like you said, I just wasn't ready for them at the time.

      This is good news for me @Seth Johnson, because I thought I was the only one. So many people love Amouage straight out of the gate that I was worried 😂 I'm going to have to sample Silver Man...haven't tried this one yet. Thanks mate!

    Amouage and Initio are my favorite Houses; niche or designer thus far. I’m glad your olfactory receptors started to embrace Amouage’s take on fragrances.

    • @TheNicheFragranceCollector
      @TheNicheFragranceCollector  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep, big love for Amouage. Here in Australia we've only just obtained access to Initio so it's a House that I need to explore further on....any suggestions on where I should start (I'm guessing Oud For Greatness is the first, but any others?)
      You might be happy to know that I'm about to start a big conversation on the Amouage House....want to explore this from a male/female point of view and so planning to co-host this. Should be fun.
      Thanks again Shiva for your comments, very much appreciate your support my brother!

      @@TheNicheFragranceCollector You are greatly welcome. I’m new to the Niche snobbery and happy about it. When it comes to Initio, it’s Side Effect that actually took my mind and wallet places. I’m a few years retired so I don’t have the office environment to deal with. I am partial to heavy scents and especially those that evoke childhood memories.

    • @TheNicheFragranceCollector
      @TheNicheFragranceCollector  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@shivavereen7824 my friend, not "snobbery" but in fact "elitism" 🧐😂 nah, in fact I'm finding that Niche perfumery House's take it really serious. It would be like a fast food joint versus a restaurant with a chef....you just know that the chef is going to care more about the product than the 15 year old part-time kid.
      It's the artistry with the fragrance that I'm in love with and love to share about.
      I'm going to order some Initio samples and start testing; I'll check out Side Effect. As mentioned if you like the Amouage, then I think you'll enjoy the series that's coming up. Planning to kick off in the coming weeks
      Great to hear from you Shiva👊🏼

    Love the stories you tell when reviewing perfumes and how you can end up to the story you have behind the fragrance. It must be great to have a wife that gives feedback on the scents and is also interested. Mainly because of your channel I got into Niche Fragrances ( my wallet hates you 😝) and I already ordered samples thanks to your videos of Nishane (the 21 sample discovery set), Meo Fusciuni, Xerjoff, Clive Christian, Mancera and Roja Dove. Now Amouage is also on my wish list for samples. Keep up the amazing videos, I see that you did earlier videos like this one in 4k which I really enjoy. 💯🙌

    My personal experience on this scent is just the same as your one. And I think this has a warmth, alluring, some kind of mysterious side in a way that if you sniff this in street, you'd like to smell again and then you turn and look around where the smell comes from.

    Absolutely nailed it with the story. Your nose has to evolve to understand a lot of the fragrances out there. That's why they make all of the "mass appealing" fragrances because they are so easy to love for the amateur nose which is about 95% of the people out there. But, if you stick around long enough with fragrances then the niche world will finally open up to you and you will begin to finally take pleasure in what the niche fragrance is actually doing. Pretty incredible that transformation haha!

    I have and love Jubilation XXV, Honour, Memoir, Interlude Black Iris, Boundless, Reflection, Overture and Journey. I'm on the fence about Imitation right now. And there are those I just cannot stand: Myths (urinal), Gold (ladies salon during use of hair dryer) and... Meander (some dry vegetable). No amount of story is going to make those scents any better for me, I'm afraid.

      Funny you should say this about Interlude, because you're right. When I first tested this fragrance it was instant....repulsion 😂 I really didn't know what all the fuss was about. Way too intense, incense, fruity, resins....was too much for my nose.
      I now own it😎 and it's still all those things, but I love the power and unique scent that this fragrance is. When I'm wearing it, everyone can pick up this perfume! And I'm always getting compliments; always.

      Good choice Fred. I would sample Meander and Enclave together (one on each arm). Their scent profile don't compete one with the other, if anything they support each other....this will give you a chance to smell the difference with those classic Omani incense notes that they use in the base

      It's funny how this has happened to all of us. I recently had a friend (who has just gotten into niche) wanting to jump into Amouage and I actually steered him away..."you're not ready for this awesomeness yet" (he didn't believe me.....I then let him smell Jubilation XXV😂....admittedly I made him jump in at the very deep end, but I wanted to prove a point😬)
      I always say, give your 'nose' a year to develop before moving into things like Amouage/Nasomatto/Orto Parisi....that way you can enjoy properly these amazing scents.
