    Thanks for the last 5 secs, I was about to ask you to show moving the pedals! lol

    Thanks for the review. I just plan to use this for washing my bikes and basic maintenance. And I got it today on Prime Day for $55. That's quite the Frankenstein Trek 6700......Road handle bars, hybrid tires, mountain bike fork. WOW.

    I also bought the CXWXC bike repair stand ,it cheaper and worked really well.

    Mine has strted to collapse. The 2 bottom legs slide up he main tube and bike falls forward no matter how tight I do the locking mechanism.

      That's a bummer. Have you contacted the manufacturer? Mine's still holding strong and I use it daily w 20-30 lb bikes

    Is the clamp ok for carbon bikes and seat posts? Also , what if the seat post is flat like the specialized roubiax ?

    • @JoshTaylor
      @JoshTaylor  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a great question. I use the stand with my carbon XC bike that has a carbon seatpost. No issues that I can perceive. I think this would work with all seatpost shapes, as it clamps down with rubber pads.

    Thanks for this nice review, and will appreciate your answering a question. When folding this stand for storage, can the bike holding head (arm) be dropped down to a vertical position or has to be detached from the stand?

    • @JoshTaylor
      @JoshTaylor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, sadly

      There is another reviewer (TheRwmods) who has a review of this model also. within the first 1:30 you can see that he spins the head unit up and over into a vertical position .. sorry I don't know how to link but you can search and see it

      I just posted a live video showing the movement of this stand. Please check it out!

      If you mean the horizontal arm with the jaws that hold the bike, yes, I recently bought this identical same model (only difference I can observe is colour) and when I fold it up I rotate the arm and jaws backwards into a downward vertical position against the main vertical column. No worries there! The whole thing folds very compactly indeed and fits most conveniently into a small cubbyhole in my flat. I'm extremely pleased with my purchase so far.

      Unlike in the more recent live video Josh made demonstrating this (see his post above), I *do* remove the tool tray when folding (easy-peasy to do) so I can rotate the horizontal arm right back to a vertical position and make the whole fold super-compact. He seems to think there may be a problem with this, but I have encountered none so far (I've used the stand three or four times).

    As with all so far that I have seen, the hardest issue is lifting the bike to the height. Is there any on the market that have a hydraulic or gas strut lift like a office chair so a person doesn't have to lift a bike?

    • @JoshTaylor
      @JoshTaylor  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed! Haven't seen one like that and if there was, would probably be expensive.
