Hell yeah. its getting there....I felt that 3rd gear change against the 7.5. I was like nnnnnnoooooooo. I noticed when you stay with the burn out a little longer it seems to be gripping abit better then previous. maybe lift the back just a tad bit more as well.
That 3rd gear shift screwed me over big time. lol. That would have been an epic run. The burnout still has me puzzled. I haven't cracked the code yet. At the next event I should alternate runs between a burnout and no burnout to see the difference because I can't see it right now. The rear is raised up all the way right now. I could try a helper spring to stiffen it up more or go with a stiffer rear spring all together.
Lorenzo you car is hard Bru....what I've noticed is that you run much better times when you wheel spin first gear full out against any car. The moment their power is out in first you ahead....change on your first red flash of the limiter and you constantly running a 13.2. well done bru. I have been watching your car go from strength to strength. Moerse fan of the MK2

Appreciate it. Those adjustments made a big difference. I missed a shift and still went faster than I did last week. That's says a lot. Now I just need to keep tweaking it.

It's technically still a 16v. No one needs tor know about the other 4 🤣 thanks a lot. I wish I could make it look like a sleeper even more with stock looking wheels.

It's not looking good for the next event weather wise. I'll have to do my Dragy runs in the street to run a new PB. Its usually easier to go faster on the street but I wanted to do it at the track. So early next year I'll be back at it.
With the amount of tire spin that you have isn't boost by gear better than boost by speed? I normally use boost by speed on all wheel drive cars and boost by gear on front wheel drive cars.
My gear scaling isn't working correctly so boost by gear isn't working as it should. BBG should work better because I would just be setting it to gate in 1st and 2nd and all of it in 3rd. What I like about BBS is that I can ramp in the power instead of hitting it hard like BBG would. I'll probably go down in wastegate spring and continue to use BBS because of the ramp.
Now that I'm starting to race AWD cars, I feel like I'm making progress. Before I wouldn't even waste my time. Now I actually stand a chance, im super pumped to go faster now. 😬
Less chassis flex should help. Tried finding a strut bar for a Mk2 for a while with no luck. I'm not too sure how much the chassis is flexing now but I'll be curious to see if it makes any difference for a car going in a straight line.
It's an experience for sure. Thankfully It no longer feels sketchy now that I've raised up the rear. The week before it was all over the track. I wish the videos could do it justice but the way it goes to fetch cars should say a lot.
Hi. I like watching your videos. I've never driven a car that hits the limiter like yours does. Could you explain to me what the benefits are of hitting the limiter in 1st and 2nd? Keep up the great work.
I'm glad you asked. Alot of people are confused about this. What's happening is that the wheels are spinning faster than the car is moving. I hit the limiter to allow the wheel speed and vehicle speed to catch up. If I shift before the limit, I'll fall out of boost. For example, my 2nd gear goes to around 110km/h, if I shift at the first limit, I'll shift to 3rd gear at 90km/h. I'll be hitting 3rd gear at 3k rpm and I'll be out of boost. This only applies when there's wheel spin. When there's traction, I shift normally. On the run against the 335i I shifted to 3rd a little to early and could feel the car wasn't in the powerband and suffered a little lag.

Damn good luck. The only turbo car I ran down the strip was my Golf R...and that did everything on it's own! lol! I do miss that car...another car I regret selling. 🤣
@@mazdamadbrad grip is key. Right now I need to work around my current grip level. Less power in 1st and 2nd is the next move. A 0.4 or 0.6 wastegate spring will help. And as I go up in grip, I'll add power accordingly.

Once u hit 3rd that golf just has legs for days. There's a red mk2 with the big bumpers like yours laying around the corner from my place just chilling, if u need some spares its been there for quite some time. Was thinking of swapping my tazz for that car, buuut uhm i don't trust the uncle to trade what i have for that car thats just laying. Its in one piece though
@@randups you've got my attention with the Mk2 just standing there. Check with the owner what he wants to do with it? It's probably rusted badly if it's just been standing like that.
Suspension definitely needs work. My coilovers are busted so there isn't enough absorption in front, the tyres are doing all the work. So that's on the to buy list. It's a very long list. lol.

I can't run less power than I currently am in 1st gear. I'm leaving on wastegate. But I agree, less power and more rpm should help.

Strut brace setup you should have a look at it

It has enough power to run decent times with prep and slicks. Godwilling I'll be able to try that out next year.
