My husband did this! Then found out you are supposed to spray AT NIGHT when they are in the nest resting. During the day they are much more active. Wasps are so mean.
Mmm. Humans are worse.
My thoughts exactly!!! Lol
ALWAYS AT NIGHT
Agree, at dusk I heard. And if you kill them they won’t make a nest there again. I use a spray that you can spray from more than 10 feet away. Kills on contact. And Philip, don’t get stung again. For a good long time. Too many stings too close can be deadly. I know someone who died getting stung twice within 2 weeks.
According to where I live, it's either right at dusk or early morning. But, yea, strange tip, may not work for everyone but if I have to work near a wasp/hornet, I think plant and they collectively ignore me....
Best remedy for wasp sting is dampened tobacco plastered on sting site. Works like magic.
I've been watching TH-cam as my single source of entertainment for the past 10(?) years. Not very into chateau's or DIY at all - However, this is the first channel of which I've watched every single video in a go. Took me 3 days. Pure entertainment. Nice work guys!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I did the same thing when I first found the channel!
😁
@@uppityupshaw So did I! It's just the best combination of DIY and humor.
I have binge watched the “All our videos from the beginning “ playlist twice. I still enjoy the projects & Especially enjoy Philippe’s sense of humor 😊
This man has so much time on his hands so he decided to be a writer, actor, cameraman, producer, and director
And I’m here for it 😂
ADD CARPENTER , ELECTRICIAN , PLUMBER AND COMIEDIAN TO THE LIST.
ADD: DAD HUSBAND, GARDENER, WASPHUNTER AND DRYWALLINSTALATOR
The running around in the background in the bee getup...pure comedy gold. We love you Phillip!
I laughed so hard to see that in slow mo and the dog chasing him…priceless!
I thinks his serious face it what made me laugh more
Yes it's Philips straight face😐 that has me in stitches 😂Love to all from Rosie O 🇬🇧👏👏👏👏
"Hello, I'm the electrician, just here to change the lightbulb"...don't mind me. 🤣🤣Philip & Anna, you are an amazing team. Hugs from Maine, USA.
Taking lessons from Winnie the Pooh, just substituting “electrician” for “cloud in the sky”.
Phillip and Ziggy running in slo-mo set to classical music was 10/10
I literally laughed out loud when Phillip came out in the bee suit. Thank you so much it was PURE entertainment. 😂😂😂
Same🤣
Me too!
I haven't laughed so much in a long time! The wasp chase scene was hilarious Phillip! Sorry about the destruction by the wild boars, you've both worked so hard to make your lawn beautiful. 🤗🤗
Spray wasp nest at night when the wassps have returned to the nest and are not as active. There's a foam spray that you can aim at the nest from four meters away.
For the wasp nest: special wasp killer foam spray; for the bite: dab some vinegar
I laughed my head off 😂😂😂😂
Living in Normandy with a very large garden for more than 30 years I can tell you: normandy soil is very heavy but also very forgiving. Your lawn will be back to normal in no time.🥰
The running scene in the bee suit…fantastic!
Let’s not forget to acknowledge the HARD work Anna and Lilly put in, though! Those wild boars can do a LOT of damage in a very short time! My legs and back ached just watching her work! 😩
A Dad got to do what a Dads got to do. Good job
That was the most hilarious vlog I’ve seen in ages. I suppose you didn’t deal with the wasps at night because you wanted to video the process. Now I understand why Anna needs therapy.
As I read all the replies, this one is making me laugh until I have tears!
🤣
ME TOO🤣🤣🤣
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂👍
That's funny 😄
Philip, with his sidekick Ziggy, are action stars.
Philip you are the best at turning a potential disaster into humour. I am sooo glad you made it through the haze of poison that could have harmed you, by donning 'the suit' and running across the huge lawn accompanied by such lovely music. What a trooper you are to save your girls from harm. I do hope the boars decide to move on Anna, you did a fantastic job putting back the sod.
I once got a lift from a British guy while hitch-hiking in Austria . He told me that he build a conservatory and was disgusted to see some ants inside. After taking some measures that didn't work, he thought of the drastic measure. He got hold of a butane fuelled blow torch. Went inside and like you with the wasps - took action - unfortunately he forgot that the insulation was flammable ...the whole conservatory went up in flames. For weeks after his neighbours would poke fun "Look an ant - get the flame thrower!" The moral of this story? I think you will work it out. :-)))
😂😂😂😂 @ Phillip and Ziggy high-tailing it across the front lawn. I needed this comedic relief today, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it
Oh my God, this video had me all over the place emotionally. I was upset about the boars ruining your beautiful grass and laughing so hard at the slow motion “escape” from the Killer Wasps (with Ziggy running along having fun thinking it was a proper game) that I was laughing so hard I cried. Having said all that - congratulations to both of you being so successful in completing your challenging tasks! So impressive!
'We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air.... what ever the cost maybe... we shall never surrender'... was you playing in head while you irradiated those evil wasps! Love the channel!
Who wants to join me and start the gofundme for safety googles for Philipp? He needs our full support in this mission to eradicate his lack of eye protection on these projects.
One way to keep wasps out: fill a brown bag with crumpled newspaper; tie a string around the top to close it up; and hang it from the ceiling. Wasps (and other bugs) will see it as a hornets nest and won't invade the space.
Really?! Such a cheap/free solution so it's well worth a try!
If that works, it’s brilliant!
YES, place several around, they're territorial and when they see the nest they'll go find another place. I make a simple solution of about a good tablespoon of dawn dishsoap, a few drops of spearmint oil and lukewarm water in a spray bottle. Now, do NOT shake it, we don't want suds, gently swirl to mix. Then early in the morning spray those nests and wasps, that soapy solution suffocates them😦
I hung one out by our hummingbird feeder. It didn't work. I saw the agony of a hummer getting stung. It was horrible.
Very Clever !
Philip you are so hilarious.... honestly your antics and humour is second to none 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ziggy, happily, running after Philippe was absolutely too funny.
Bravo for making the playhouse safe again.
Next, put screens on the window & create a screen door in order to secure the playhouse 😊
Phillipp running around and away from wasps was epic, could have been from any drama movie with potential for an Oscar or any award. I just love it, and this channel, you guys are awesome.
Lily’s an actress in the making 😂
LOL!!! Your contraption to spray the wasps was hilarious, but your electrician impersonation was even better! Hope your second spraying was successful. Your running in the bee suit was impressive, however no match for Ziggy. He caught up quickly. LOL. Poor Anna and the boars-such a shame. Hope her hard work stays in tact. Have a good week and thanks for the laughs. 😂
You need to hang a small brown paper bag with a little stuffing in it. Wasps will not build a nest where there already is one and they think the brown bag is one. Its worked beautifully for us for years.
Always spray wasp nest at night. They are less active and more likely to all be in the nest so you don't have strays looking to get even when they return home angry.
I laughed so often, and so hard, during this video! If I could subscribe a thousand times, I would. Thank you. Forgive me for enjoying, while you both are feeling the painful and full reality of post-vacation.
As I said in the chat to prevent wasp, take brown or grey paperbag, fill with some more paper and hang in our out side the play house, It looks like a waspnest and wasps dont nest together, so they will not set up a new nest when one is allready there.
You are a riot! This was pure entertainment. I can imagine how disappointing it is to leave your lovely lawn in good shape and to come back and it's all torn up. I lived on 1 and 1/3 acre before and the dear never left my garden alone. If I didn't continually spray it, they were back to eat it as a salad. It is so frustrating trying to have something beautiful when wild animals are around.... And the work never ends.
Anyone can see the mustache gave you the strength you needed to conquer the wasps!!!
It’s like Samson with his hair .
You're a hero Philip. Mustache or not 🥰
A hero and a great comic!
Not all heroes wear mustaches. Most don't.
Great shots of you jumping out of the playhouse and running across the lawn with Ziggy in tow. Keep the mustache, I think it makes you look like you can run faster. Well done.
I spray the wasp nest at night when apparently they are all asleep. I spray, run away, come back and spray some more untill the nest is saturated. This has worked really well for us. In the morning you have to come back to clean up. Good luck! Love your channel.
Exactly what I do.
O intrepid warrior, Philip! Thou art so brave in the face of terror. My heart stoppeth at the sheer heroism you displayed! Not to mention the gazelle-like running you did to escape the angry wasps in their furor. What a guy! I, too, hope that the boars did not return that night to add to the destruction of your lovely lawn. Thanks for always being so entertaining! P.S. The musical accompaniment was spot on!
Present danger with the enemy wasp and foraging boars. Under attack as the animals take their toll. But family recovers and renews. Great video and hopefully the boars find another lawn to uproot.
Philip, you are an absolute hoot! Thanks so much for the laughter today. I needed it! I love and look forward to all of the posts! Hopefully the boars don't come back.
Just adding another comment to thank Anna for speaking for that sponsorship. I think it’s great when people in the public eye bring some attention to mental health issues that are affecting so many. 👍
My dear Philip, apart from absolutely heroic (I would never ever dare), that was hilarious!! And my dear Anna, poor you. Having to restore the lawn sod by sod on your knees.... Just as heroic!!!
😂😂Crying laughing over here! Your wasp misfortune is our gain!🤣
Thanks for the fun! I do hope the yard recovers as well as Philip!🥸
My loving suggestion for the playhouse is to put screens in the windows, screen door. Consider sealing between each board. Look in your trees for wasp nest near the play house. ❤❤❤
Thanks for the tips!
What are screens so rare all over Europe? Screens people, enjoy bug free living😃😃
@@cwatson3495 I mean in the summer it's annoying but it's not that crazy over here. Like it's probably going to get worse with climate change but there's just been no necessity, especially if half the year is cold. But more and more people have window or door screens, it's not that uncoomon
Lol... funny vlog in spite of the boar and wasp infestations.
When I've had wasp nests on my porch I spray carefully at a distance with diluted ammonia and water soaking it and them as they fly around and it kills them and they don't return. They don't like ammonia.
I truly love your channel, and do not need the intense video titles to click on your videos. In fact, it actually keeps me from clicking on them. Not sure if it’s only me, but in my opinion you’re way way way above the clickbait game! Thank you for bringing great videos to us ☺️
This vlog is one of my favorites! The title drew me in a few years back and they just get better and better! Love the imagination, love the humor, love the music, love the filming, most of all love the people on this channel! Thanks so much! ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love your humor Philip! That was some hard work Anna!
In the U.S., you can buy wasp spray that shoots out a long stream, like a good 6 meters. I hate using stuff like that but when the nest is next to the door to your house....plus when I was a kid, I got stung by a wasp on the eyebrow. My eye swelled shut. Subsequent wasp stings have not been so bad. I think you build up an immunity. I still don't want wasps by my front door. You are a brave Dad. Why do your children have homework in the summer?
I don't know if it was the vacation days, but you guys came back inspired. One of the best videos you ever made, A MASTERPIECE!
There is no shame in a tactical retreat. I solute you, brave soldier!
Awesome Vlog, love your sense of humour! 😂can’t believe the amount of damage that the boar caused!
Sorry for laughing at you Philip but that was so funny watching you running away from the bees 🏃🏻♂️🐝 😂
With Ziggy close on his heels 🤣
It was precious! Especially the dogs running after him too.
I laughed out loud and I live on my own so it feels odd having a good shout and laugh at Philip running around the garden in his Wasp kit. I wonder were he found it? 🍷🍷🇬🇧🇬🇧
@@neenmachdogs? There is only Ziggy.
@@jacobavalkenburg9308 ha ha typo. And I couldn’t remember Ziggys name at the time. My TH-cam autocorrect it awful.
The running in the beekeeper suit, Ziggy even running after you... I could've watched that for another 10 minutes and it would've only been funnier and funnier! Your videos really keep uplifting me, thank you both
Ziggy and this white astronaut running in front of a French Chateau in slow motion (with classical background music), absolutely hilarious!
Wasp issue: I’m in the southern US near Atlanta, Georgia. Here in the south, it’s common to see the ceilings of porches painted a sky blue. I’ve been told it deters the wasps and swallows from building nests because the paint color mimics the sky and they don’t feel protected. Since painting ours blue over 5 yrs. ago, we haven’t had any wasp nests. It works! Perhaps you could paint the ceiling in the playhouse blue?
Best one yet. That was hilarious! Phillip's future career in stand up comedy is right around the corner.
Philip, your filming skills, your choice of music and your sense of humor especially when filming your third wasp attack are perfectly wonderful! 😂 I couldn't stop laughing 👍
One can see the amount of time you spent on making it,thank you😊
I hope you didn' t get problems because of killing the wasps...Nature protection....🤔
You guys...I'm 26, just finished college, unemployed, no family...who would've thought I'm in the target audience? I love the content so much, I've been following you guys for a year now !!! I'm always so excited to see an upload, it's my serotonin boost
So, go volunteer to work and live on site.
Same lol I’m 20 and still in uni
TO Kill all the wasps that live in the nest, you have to wait until it is dark when they have all returned to the nest for the night. Then clobber the nest with spray and the next morning you will have 100 percent dead wasps. A sting on the ear is very tender. The wasp suit is a good idea even with small paper nests.
Great tip!
Never laughed so much, 😂😂😂thanks… fantastic episode ❤
I needed that giggle. Philip is very funny ❤
Phillip running around the yard with Ziggy in tow, the scenery, the music, what a cinematic masterpiece! 🎉
In Kentucky as a kid and as an adult, mom would take baking soda and a dab of water and made a paste and put it on my stings and it works to bring down the swelling and pain. It does work. It’s a wet thick paste then added to the sting, put a bandage on it to keep the paste in place. This is a southern remedy and it does work. And as for the pigs, you need to shoot a couple and smoke a few hams for Christmas and bacon for the family. You’ll need plenty of help as it’s a big job to process a hog. But, be aware of them in your yard. They will attack you and and really mess you up badly or even kill you. So, be aware of them and stay outside with your kids when they go out and play. I’m a southern lady and I know this. Take care.
I was attacked by hornets and did this and it worked I never had to use anything else ❤
I also made this poultice and it works . Also knew to attack the wasps at night like others have said
Same remedy that my Mom used and I still use myself. I am Southern too… Georgia.
You are priceless….in a good way!
Must be a northern thing too because I was born and raised in Alaska and we did the same.,👍
We did the strongest wasp spray you could buy, had to get the professionals in to spray in order to kill them! Good Luck! I sure hope the boars do not come back, what a job repairing that lawn Anna! Strong work both of you!!!
Such a brave man!! All for the Glory Of France! Benoit must be so proud that you have befriended him.
😂❤
Pretty much laughed all the way through that, apart from Anna fixing the lawn!!
So funny 😂 how Phillip is handling the wasp situation 😂😂
Your RTWKD invention is freaking BRILLIANT. While I requested slate roof tile offerings in your merch store, this creation is just the ticket! Be sure to offer your 🤓moose-tache disguise accessory. Look, Anna's wallpaper artistry, green paints, candle creations and beauty have been helpful, but you are on the precipice of sheer domination of this channel. RTWKD to the top!!
Brillant Ideas, thanks! :)
This vlog is straight comedy! I laughed so much!! And oh my gosh, the slo-mo running and the music---GENIUS!!!
Try getting rid of the wasps at night, they’re sleepy, and less prone to attacking. Plus they’re all inside the nest so you’re sure you’re getting all of them 😊
Mustache or not, that was one of the funniest videos I have seen👍🏻
The slo-mo bit with the violin music 😂😂😂😂... Absolutely hilarious! Pure comic genius! 😂😂😂😂
Philipp, Normandy’s comedic genius, thanks again for another wonderful video.
Years ago we had wasps on our porch, so my dad set up the shop vacuum in front of the hive entrance and left it on for a while. Their instinct to enter the hive was so strong they couldn’t help themselves & got sucked up by the vacuum. It’s not a perfect extermination method but it was pretty funny! 😂😂
Loving the tache! When you came running out of the play house there was a definite Tellytubby vibe. Great running style, even better in slow motion. Best Chateau videos on TH-cam.👍
I have to say, I was blown away by your confidence when you sailed away in someone else's boat, and when you conquered those terrifying alpine trails. So it was a nice equalizer to see you so trepidatious with the wasps lol. Baking soda paste works well, and spraying at night while they're more lethargic is always a good tip. We usually let wasp nests be, but in the last week my husband has been stung 4 times, so now it's game on for us, too. Glad y'all are home and healthy.
Kid's playground doesn't mix with wasps either.. sorry insects.
Here in Australia I get the videos in the morning, a laugh is always a great way to start the day, however I do feel sorry for Anna after such a relaxing holiday, thanks for the entertainment.
Mustache or no Phillip, you are a mighty force for your little women😅❤❤❤
Thank you Philip for some fun comedic relief. By the way, your cabin is beyond amazing. How blessed you are.
We just dealt with three wasp nests ourselves, so we totally related to this. Take care!
We are with you!!
Thoroughly enjoyable! Thank you so much!
I like your mustache Phillip! Hope you can finally get rid of the wasps!! Don't give up!! You're so funny. Have a good week everyone! (from Sandi)
Phillip makes me laugh SO much!! One of his most hilarious videos!! That sting looked painful; glad you survived the ordeal!
I love watching your chateau journey but Philipp is just the best and is too funny. Love your sense of humour :o)
Hi gang !! We also have boars in my county in Sweden. One of my friends also had a visit, and he put up three metal strings with one close to the ground, and put an electric box, that sends pulses. Boars dont jump over fences, but burrow under, and they are properly grounded with four legs, so the electric shock seems to keep them away....A relatively low cost and banging rebars as poles, or maybe they should be plastic?? Ah, well, check it out, since lotsa pipl use electric fences for sheeps, cows, horses, etc....
Allda bestest from mikke in sweden....;-D
I think you are suppose to spray the nest at night, when all the wasps are all in their nest…Good luck !
Yup that's what we do here. We have an empty trash can with a lid under the nest so they fall into that then we cut it down into the can and spray again.
How could I be mad at you. Don't tell anyone, but you and Ziggy are my favorites. Glad for the beekeepers' suit.
Thank you for a good laugh. I needed that!
I like how this slowly becoming Philip’s personal vlog
Philipp, you are quite the sprinter, even when hindered by a bee keeping suit. Ziggy makes a straight horizontal line when he is running straight out; beautiful. He was probably wondering what the fun game was!😂 Condolences on the boar damage Anna. I can’t believe you put all that turf back in one day. Epic!
This was hilarious! Thank you, for the fun video!!!
I love how Ziggy was like : “I don’t know why we are running but I want to participate”
You are a brave man!
What a HERO OF GREAT PROPORTIONS & CHARM you are ( and ultra modest too)… More please!! ❤️from Montreal
Yesss..mostly the modest part hahaa
Anna, I am so proud of you for creating a game with the girls and flipping over all of the grass that the wild boars head dug up. And even though they may have not stayed with you for very long in the process, I’m even more proud of you for not giving up till it was all done. It was remarkable how you made your lawn. Look beautiful in just a days time. You definitely earned a day at the spa after that hard work.
Philip, you bring joy and laughter to my day every time I watch your videos. I get your sense of humor, and I truly love the satire of your actions in conversation in the skits. I can tell you that I have had incidents with Wass in a vehicle that I had and there was just something about the chrome on that vehicle that drew the wasp to it. I parked it in the shade when I would come home in the summertime, and it would be cool in the morning when I went out to go to work. I didn’t even notice the wasp were making nest behind my rearview mirror on the outside, as well as the back chrome bumper until they had made quite large nest in those areas. And as you found out Philip, they will swarm you very quickly if you come near their nest. What you will have to do once you have managed to kill all the live wasp, and the larvae in the list, is knock the nest down and take it somewhere where you can burn it and then also treat the wood with, the gasoline or creosote or something that you would have that you might clean your outdoor paint brushes with. You might talk to your hardware store about that because things are different in Europe than they are in America and there are different laws regarding the sales of those things. But basically you want to change the smell of where they build their nest so that they don’t come back to it. I’m sure the girls are so excited that you were there hero and fought the mean wasp. It is very serious to be allergic to bee stings and you should have some Benadryl and an anti-inflammation medication for bee stings on hand just in case so that you don’t go into shock. I have a sister who is deadly allergic to bee stings.
I want to go back to the issue of the wild boars tearing up your yard. You might have to talk to a professional gardener as to why they’re coming to that particular area of your yard and what it is they’re digging for. I already mentioned that I am from the United States of America, and in states, such as Oklahoma and Texas, they have a real problem with wild boars running in packs, and they have to be trapped in these huge cages, and then a professional comes and gets them out of the cage and put them into their truck and I can only guess that they are taken somewhere and slaughtered. they are truly a menace to the landowners and particularly if you’re raising horses and cattle because these wild boys dig holes in the ground and then the animals will trip in them and break a leg and therefore have to be put down. You may have moles in your yard that the boys are coming to look for or wild mushrooms underneath the grass, which I found out in one of the yard that I had, there are certain types of mushrooms that go clear back to the dinosaur era, and it takes a professional to get rid of them. Anyway, it’s gonna take a gardener probably and probably some other people to take care of the wild boars (or ferret pigs as I’ve heard them called also). I do know their tasks are very long and very dangerous to humans. You can go on TH-cam and watch videos of people who catch these wild pigs, and it is very frightening how strong they are and how even the babies can throw their body up against the big cages that have dropped down and trapped them, and managed to still get out of this incredibly large trap. I would really talk with the girls about if they ever see them or hear them to come into the house quickly and let you guys know. I remember very vividly as a child a summer afternoon when my mother was hanging out the laundry and my father was off to work when I heard my mother holler hurry up and get in the house quickly run her a fast don’t ask questions just get the little babies off the swingset and out of their playpen‘s and get in the house quickly. it turned out there was a wild badger coming out of the tree forest line that was on the edge of our 640 acres of land. Another time there was a wild cougar and it could be very frightening to a child when things like that, show up at your home. Anyway, I don’t want to freaking you with my stories. I love your channel and I appreciate all that you guys worked so hard to do and you do such beautiful work and I just thank you for bringing humor and joy into my home. God bless your family until next time, 😊♥️~V.
Oh, my, your poor grass! Something digs in my yard from time to time. Haven't figured it out yet.
Had yellow jackets move in under my shed. They started attacking anyone who came near. Yep, got stung. Over the counter sprays did nothing. A couple of them chased me into the house. Finally called an exterminator. Always call an exterminator. Love your channel.
This may possibly be Philip's finest episode. I belly laughed multiple times during this one.
Ditto!!!
Me too
I went from “oh, my Goodness, ouch” to laughing over the heated fork and the wasp mustache. Between the wild boars and the wasps, this was a wild ride.
I had a wasp sting me right in the nail bed, Excruciating pain for 24 hours. Had to hold ice on it continuously, no sleep. I went on a rampage and sprayed every nest I could find. Evil little buggers, I hope they are gone and glad the kids didn't get stung.
Love your sense of humor, always enjoy watching!
This one was really well done, very funny and what happens when you return home from vacation. Hope you ended the wasp problem!!😂🤣
To prevent wasps and other birds from nesting in the playhouse, you could try painting the ceiling a sky blue. People do this for their porch ceilings to mimic the sky and trick the animals into not thinking it’s covered/protected
It doesn’t work. We just painted our porch ceiling blue, there was a wasps nest within a month. However, I sprayed the nest with dishwashing soap and water, killing off the wasps. I heard if you leave an empty nest the wasps won’t build another near by. So, I left the nest up, far so good. LOVE THESE VIDEOS!
