Just bought two from the Odenwolf website. You have not steered me wrong yet, Doc. From the Higonokami to the weird Svord friction folder, and of course a dive into the Moras. Thanks for showing you can have fun collecting on a budget.
Good W- Mini scandi review. These are super tiny, woodlands fixed blade EDC knives along with the necklace and fire starter kit. I bought both W Mini blade styles. I can see these being in every "knife guy" Christmas stocking. Fun channel liked and subscribed
@@Xdriftninjax it's a carbon tool steel. And I have a video where I've tested it again... Wait for it... 1095. Now with a 12% chromium content D2 is considered a high Chromium steel, but that doesn't erase the fact that a carbon content of 1.5% places it square in the high carbon category. "semi-stainless" is not a metallurgy description or category of steel. It's a term made up and used by people who don't fully understand what "High Carbon High Chromium Steel" really means. D2 was developed following a line of steels to replace tungsten, as people were looking for something that could withstand heat and had a similar hardness, but would be more economical in tool and die settings. The combination of thr Carbon & Chromium content makes it exceptional as a high speed tool steel. But Yes, due to the a carbon content as high as 1.5% Leave it out and wet, and it rusts. It's been proven. Lol.
I mean cool knife, seems INSANELY sharp and seems really comfortable in the hand. But man i think that blade is just a bit too small for an outdoor/survival/bushcrafting knife, i feel like another 1 1/2" or 2" would make that a GREAT outdoor knife.
almost looks like the sheath can be worn scout style. And I'm surprised you didn't mention the lack of jimping. If I was looking for a backup bushcrafting knife...this would be it.
my guess would be there in no jimping due to blade length. with that short of a blade, jimping would make the flat striking area of the blade a whole lot smaller

i mean what i got out of this video is i saw docs toes so thats cool i guess
Nice knife, i would carry that one.
D2 is semi stainless, it doesn't rust/patina as quick as a true carbon steel. You made it sound like 1095...lol

@@grimbo73 good catch on the skimping. With all the grip on the handle I don't think anyone will miss it. You get a pretty snug hold.
