Dude, (if I am aloud to call you that these days) you are amazing! I really appreciate you taking your time to make this vid to teach everyone this process.
I wanted to use my ready player me avatar with obs and I’ve been looking for solid tutorials for what seemed like an eternity. Then I found yours! It’s so clear and easy to follow. Got my Vtuber avatar setup quickly. Thanks so much!
I wish I could say the same. I found this video a complete and utter NIGHTMARE - there was far too much taken for granted, far too many assumptions that people already understood the infinite number of preliminary steps required to get anywhere near this far. I spent literally hours watching other peoples videos to fill in all the endless blanks and even as I sit here writing this now am still trawling the internet to find yet another aspect of this that appeared absolutely nowhere in this extremely flawed narrative
I knew that this kind of method will also work using Ready Player Me! I just learned how to do this using Vroid and got me thinking about doing the same thing using Ready Player Me. And you explain it very nicely in this tutorial! Thankyou.. i will try it soon~
Hey there! I appreciate all of the comments! I'd like to address two common questions that come up regarding this tutorial. 1 - Some of you have reported that only a GLB option is available in ReadyPlayerMe. The FBX option is only available if you create a VRChat avatar first. Here's a screenshot: imgur.com/a/8iysBEL. 2 - I also get asked how I got the arms to move of my avatar. I use VRChat in virtual reality to produce my videos, so the joysticks with my Quest 2 move my arms. I recently created a video that walks through my production process for those of you looking to learn more: th-cam.com/video/JAOgDAVT5bQ/w-d-xo.html
Greetings, I need help, the textures of the avatar do not load and I have already tried everything and I do not know how to solve it, it only looks gray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is cool but can use an update, as I tried this today and nothing was where or as you show it. There's no FBX d/l, Unity package names / numbers have changed, when you go to start the project you click on a single 3D option, now there's like six of them and none of them seemed to show me this next screen you have (infact they all say 'doesn't use this unity version' and yet it's the newest version. I've downloaded a ton of stuff and can't get past this single step. :/ (And still don't know how to make the FBX, even though I did go into the VRchat website and try to start it up there. I'm reaally realllly lost right now.)
Not sure if you still respond to comments on here @ExploreXR but I followed all the steps perfectly, created my avatar in VRChat, imported it into unity, got the same VRM version as you, and did everything up until the blend shapes. However when I adjust the blend shapes on my character, it completely messes up the model, stretching the entire face upwards out of the screen. This happens even if it is set to 0.1 instead of 100. Could you please help me out with this? I'd appreciate it.
So, the file I get from Readyplayerme is .glb and none of the screens look like yours! this might as well be magic, any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? thanks!
@@J0C0EURTV I actually have the same issue. Searching how to fix it. Actually it seems Blender doesn't find any attribute when you wantto save your avatar as a .fbx, that's why it turns grey
LOL. In Ready Player Me go to "My Avatars" and create a VRChat avatar. That should give you an option to download as FBX. At some point in the future Ready Player Me will allow users to export as a VRM file so that will cut down on these steps.
@@ExploreXR No Sir. There is no .fbx file option in Ready Player Me. I also used blender to turn it into dot fbx file. But unfortunately it turned out to be grey. The texture folder is empty when extracting.
@@awoula-racontesmoilhistoir8639 I think we need an alternative of Ready Player Me which provides us the Avtar directly in .fbx Do you guys have any suggestions as I am stuck. Thanks for the tutorial, but I am having a hard time generating the FBX format. I tried to do what you said but even so he generates the GLB format. Please I would like a solution.
For VSeeFace, you need to purchase a Leap Motion. When I record myself for videos, I do it in VRChat, so I’m just using the joysticks that come with my Quest 2.
Is there a way to automate this entire flow? I see lot of manual hoops going through 4 softwares. In other words, can you use iPhone pro and convert video stream to avatar stream (hosting these softwares on cloud)?
I logged in last week and saw that it was missing. I will be releasing a new version of this tutorial in the next week or so. Looks like it's been missing for some folks for a while, and the change finally hit me recently.
@@ExploreXR how are you tracking your hand movements? I understand that this is a basic tutorial on facial tracking with the software, etc. But, I have gotten all this finished and would also like to track my hand movements. I assume you'd need to buy additional things for that?

hi what steps did you do after dragging the avatar. mines never showed up which got me confused
here's no download option to fbx file. here's only is gbl please guide sir
You have to create a VRChat avatar in ReadyPlayerMe to have the FBX file option: imgur.com/a/8iysBEL
The facial expressions were missing on mine.
Me too
Will not let me extract textures.
Thank you but my unity is very different you show on the video. I import the avatar but not appear similar you show on the video.

Yep. You can have multiple avatars.
Any advice for using a chromebook
I wish I did. Unfortunately, the Chromebook is basically web browser and is very limited in what it can do.
