    Hands down the best build series for our loved SCX10 III. This is exactly what I was searching for.

    You certainly did a better job of keeping that black grease off your hands than I did...LOL

      LOL! Yeah, I should probably just start building with nitrile gloves.

    Sweet looking axles

      Yeah they're not bad. I'm usually not a portal guy, but I think these look pretty decent.

    some people are visual learners, so this is a good idea. my only advice is to give the screw/bearing sizes for the peeps that will be building from flea market parts.

      Yeah, sometimes I forget to do that. I've done it before, but I forget what build I did it for. I just need to remember to do it everytime!

    Nice job, i like it when you build the cars like this you get so much info from it 👍👍👊👊🔥🔥

      Yeah, I try to make sure I cover everything, and any parts of the build you need to watch out for. I've already found a bunch of errors in the manual for this build on top of the ones that have already been discovered. The diagrams also don't always show the clearest indication of how things go together, so I try to show those parts while I build as well.

      Kurt's RCs... You COULDN'T be more Right!! 😎👌
      I've been in the Hobby since 1984, and I've only bought ONE RTR - only because the TMAXX never came as a kit. 😲

      It is a lot of work! Totally worth it though when I get comments that it actually helped someone with their build, which is why I make these. The goal is to share and get more people into this hobby!

    How long it takes to completely built? From this part 1 to 9.

    • @RevolutionX
      @RevolutionX  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Much quicker if you are not also making videos at the same time! Normal time to finish is probably 2-3 hours not including paint and depending on experience.

      Yeah, now that Axial's under Horizon, they seem to have their feet under them again. Capra and the SCX10.3 showing that Axial has a lot of promise under Horizon ownership.

      I don't know for sure. I'm sure a small RC shop probably made one before. I'll have to look into it.

    I missed this first one...
    I want to throw something CRAZY at you.......
    PORTALS are a me too gimmick that only adds about 11mm Pumpkin clearance!! 😲
    NO Jeep ever came with Portals! 😁
    Everyone who's tested it so far, thinks the COG is too high, and the rear Shock Oil is too thin.
    PLEASE form your own opinion!! Not trying to sway you, much. 😜
    See how YOU like it as built. Then, for a hoot, throw on a pair of AR-44s from the II. (You'll have to change the Transmission Gears to the Straight Axle ones)
    Also remove that useless Roll Cage! 😖
    Then take it out on the same lines, and see how it does.....
    Up for my challenge? 😉
    IF you like the results, those Portals SHOULD have gone on the Unimog in the FIRST place!! THEY came with Portals.
    When you're Retired/Disabled, you've got a LOT of time to watch Videos!!
    Please stay SAFE! 😷

      I will almost always build it as intended first before I start doing anything. It's only fair to see where the rig is at that way before doing anything. Yes portals on Jeep was a head scratcher, but I see where Axial's coming from. It's like Traxxas with the TRX4 Bronco, Chevy, Defender with portals... The features sell, the bodies sell. I'll tell you right off the bat. I have problems driving portal rigs. I can't drive them as well as my straight axle ones because of tipping. That being said, I'm sure the portal rigs I have can be tuned to be as capable as my straight axle rigs like the Enduro, but I probably need to adjust the way I drive with them too. I will most likely leave the Jeep body with the roll cage as is. If I want to tackle more difficult terrain, I'd probably use a different body on it, and leave the Jeep body for trailing. The AR44 and AR45 axles seem to have enough differences that it might not be a simple swap as far as link mounting points. I'm not looking at it right now, so I can't say for sure. I may just leave it as is, since Axial have said they are coming out with straight axle pieces in the future anyway.

    • @CarminesRCTipsandTricks
      @CarminesRCTipsandTricks 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RevolutionX It wouldn't be a simple swap... The Front Axle has an offset Pumpkin. I would just be curious. 😉
      There's nothing wrong with Portals.... In fact done right, they're quite an advantage. But you're right about them being different to handle! They do give nice gear reduction and extra low weight...
      I would always run first as-is. Like I said, just curious. 😁

      Portals reduce torque twist. That’s the main thing they are useful for with rc. Full sized trucks have weight to them. Tenth scale trucks do not
