- This year, I sold nearly all the baseball cards in my top 10-20 list and completely transformed my collection. In this video, I’ll break down the moves I made, the cards I traded for, and how my collection has evolved by the end of 2024. Also did this before the pandemic. Took me two years to sell about 100 cards in my collection. In 2021, I used all the proceeds to purchase just Ohtani and Curry cards. Now my collection is only composed of 16 cards from those two guys. I feel like by consolidating, it cured my collecting addiction. 😅
I think I'm going to do the same . I'm sitting on a few thousand + autos, numbered cards and short prints and various parrelles. Too much to even enjoy because going through it all is a pain now. I think I'm going to sell it all and just collect a few players big cards .

I love that Judge RPA, I saw it and almost bought it. I like the Soto Bowman 1st auto. Everything else I don’t at all. I like Betts but I wouldn’t invest over $1k in him. All the other cards I would sell and rather have a big Ohtani or rare vintage. I hate modern cards with autos from vintage guys like the Aaron Mays. Occasionally I like a game-used on card auto of a vintage player, but not many. I generally don’t like PC-ing guys who I can’t consider in the 20 ever all time. Even if it’s in my own head that’s fine. For example, RIP, Rickey Henderson. I consider him a top 20 player all time easy, but many would not. As long as it’s debatable I would collect a player like that. And with new guys I have to believe that have a trajectory to be top 20 alltime.
I like some of these, don't like others, but love the red Goldschmidt you picked up!
I'm impressed with your ability to move off very rare cards of guys you PC, to pick up other rare PC cards. It's tough to ignore the emotion to look at the bigger picture.

I extremely think that judge rookie auto logo man is the best and to me one of the top ten favorite cards to whay I look to collect. All the other ones like Soto and Mookie Betts which I know you have been collecting his cards for a while now since watching your channel were amazing and the red gold Schmidt is fire man.

Oh man, this brings back memories. When people ask what my biggest selling regret was - I tell them the purple /10 Lindor 1st bowman auto. Sold it for $70 back in the day. Who knows, it may be the very card you now own!
The best thing about your collection is you cn move it with straining your back, I like the concept of a small collection and mine isn't giant, but could do with further consolidation. My collection is in twom parts... about a crate of baseball and a crate of vimntage non sport from 1930-1990. Most of my non sport is complete sets from the 50s to the 70s.... so I think they should be easy to move when the time comes. I have my eye on getting a big card by my standards next year that I want to pay for with card money just like hyou did.

I think this is a good idea to do every year so you can look back like a historical document. It's fun to see the cards that come in and out to keep things in perspective.

Love the Mays/Aaron dual auto, two of the top 3 players ever imo. Giving up the Mays rookie for a Lindor I would never do, but it’s your PC! I’m curious if you thought about an Ohtani this last season, guessing because of how much his cards rose it might not have been a good time.

I love that '90 Fleer sheet on your wall. '90 Fleer was the set that really got me into collecting. They were 50 cents a pack in Canada. I remember buying $5 dollars worth of them (10 packs) during lunch break in grade 6. That was a big deal back then.
I remember stealing 36 packs of them at one time from a store. 😂

I love that Aaron/Mays dual on-card auto. This is a great example of a truly rare scenario card. I’d imagine these two didn’t co-sign many cards. In an age where we have an over abundance of “One of One” cards which are generally the same, it’s the rare scenario cards like this that are exciting. Bravo on the 2024 card moves. 👍🏼
I was just about to put something similar, I love the dual auto, I love modern numbered cards featuring players from the 30's to 2000, it's like the best of both worlds modern and classic!

There are only three sets ever to have dual autos of Mays and Aaron.

There are probably a total of around 200 total ever made and even fewer with a good auto!

I have always wanted the arron mays dual back in the day I bought a single pack the last from the box at my local shop and the guy gave me a deal because he said all the hits were gone well I opened it and hit the dual auto of the only other cosigner card made it was 2 Japanese pitchers

It is from 2018! Definitely from the 2018 Fourth of July series against the Red Sox. It’s fun to go back and watch how he did in those games and knowing where it came from.

I both like and almost hate your pickups at the same time! I think thats the beauty of it. The one thing that is inarguable is that the Mays Aaron is an absolute grail and worth consolidating for. The Judge is by far your riskiest add and I'll be interested to see how it turns out for you!

I didn’t want the focus of this video to be all about prices, and people I made deals with asked me not to share. So instead of including some, I tried to just exclude all prices and make it about the cards. Thanks for watching, guy!
its important to diversify your investments and to never put all your eggs in one basket, trust me on that, lol. guys love to talk about trading up to one card through multiple cards. be careful guys. baseball players are still human beings
What you say is true regarding baseball players are human and that carries risk if they do something (example:Wander Franco). I don't look at cards as investments. I am a pure collector and I think Scottie is too looking for mainly PC cards. It's nice knowing that if you buy certain cards, you're really not throwing away your money if you buy vintage or HOF players. Worst case is they don't appreciate, so low risk overall. My PC is Nolan Ryan and been collecting him since 1988. I know his cards will either hold or go up, so that's the only risk I'm willing to take 😂

What? No, not at all! Mookie is my favorite player. My collection value was essentially 80% Mookie so I am just getting other players in my personal collection and keeping the Mookies that I love. I am proactively trying to buy other rare Mookies as we speak. I decided I’d rather have 3-5 really big Mookies instead of 10-20 medium sized Mookies. This video doesn’t show my mid to low tier pc with all my other stuff
