I like this unit as well. I have an old 1995 that didn't come with this creature comfort and was pleased to find your review on this helpful and worth the price!

How is the communication distance? Any issues with them dropping out going down the road?

Thanks for the video - I’ve been shopping for an inexpensive TPMS which actually works! Question : how does it work to fill air with the sensors on the valve stems? Do you have to use the tool to take them off in order to add air?

    • @christravels360
      @christravels360  ปีที่แล้ว +3

Thanks for asking! This TPMS system uses valve cap sensors. You need to remove them to fill the tires. The tool is there if you decide to use the anti theft system, but I didn't use it. It is basically a nut that tightens against the TPMS sensor. Hope this helps!

I was shocked to find mine didn’t come with tpms so I actually bought the same unit. Why did you need a shop to install it? How much did they charge? Thanks

Hello, I didn't need the shop to install my TPMS. I was having an issue from the shop who installed my tires. They didn't tighten the lugs all the way and it caused a horrible shaking and grinding issue, and we brought this motorhome to 2 different shops! I was told everything from my steering system to my driveshaft was breaking. I had the shop who actually fixed my issue, which was the loose lugs, install my TPMS since they already had the tires off.

Consider that this system essentially adds a small wheel weight to the wheel which could be a minor problem but that additional wheel weight is now at the end of your RUBBER valve stem! It is easy to find youtubers who have tried these and ran into tire pressure failures due to leaky valve stems. Change to metal valve stems and you will not see this problem.

Hello! Yes, only use these on metal valve stems. th-cam.com/users/shorts1yuQ_WzvRV8?feature=share

I have the same system and when I tried the first tire I had a display with the air pressure showing so I continued installing the others and now I don't see 1 display of any tires so I'm not sure why , I click on the set button for 6 seconds like they say to do

Oh no. Sorry to hear that. There is a video on the Amazon product page that goes over a few things that may help. You can use the link in the description of this video to get there. Also, maybe try a full charge with a USB cable and see if that helps. My display went completely dark when the internal battery was depleted. I gave it a quick charge, and everything started working as if nothing ever happened. I press the up arrow to cycle information from PSI to tire temperature. Let me know if you get everything working again! If you are still having issues, reach out to them. Maybe they can set everything straight. Hope it works out for you!

No. When I had my motorhome’s tires serviced, I had them install it for me.

Hi Chris, awesome video. I'm getting ready for a cross country trip in our travel trailer and will be buying one of these for sure. I'm also buying new tires, since mine are about 7 years old. One thing I was told, is when I get new tires installed, is to insure that I have metal tire valve stems installed if I'm going to use a TPMS kit. I hear that if you put them on rubber valve stems, they can actually cause the valve stem to break from the force of the wheel turning at high speeds down the highway. What's your thought on this? Again, great video!!

So glad you enjoyed my video! Thank you! That trip sounds incredible! So glad you are having such a wonderful trip. I firmly believe in TPMS systems, and metal valve stems. I have heard horror stories about rubber valve stems tearing themselves apart from the rotation, so I say metal. I did a short video on RV tires as well if you want to give that one a watch. Another tip is if you are getting brand new tires, get a lug check by 500 miles of the new tires being installed. There is a short video about this one my channel as well. I hope you have a wonderful trip, and please stay safe. I hope this helps in some way for you. Thanks again

I have a system like this and my concern is that I have observed people on you tube claiming that with rubber valve stems the sensors weight on the valve stems via centrifugal force causes premature valve stem failure and left them on the side of the road
I have rubber valve stems so I am removing mine
SO… do I want ongoing knowledge when I drive and have valve stem wear…or do run bare so as not have valve stem failure
To solve the problem I guess might be better

Hello, glancing over the owner’s manual. they recommend replacing rubber valve stems for metal valve stems for this reason. My RV had metal valve stems, so I didn’t need to change them.

This unit only has two digits so won’t do higher tire pressures like 110 like many large RV have.
