Salah and Virgil have to get renewed. They are 2 of the best players of a generation and they just get undermined for their phenomenal service. Letting them go for free is bad business.
I have a thought that Klopp knew he was getting to the point he wanted to leave WAY before he told the club, otherwise why hadn't the 3 lads currently on their last year had their contract talks started a year before, when they had 2 years left. That's how we've normally done it, but for some reason not this time 🤔 I think Jurgen couldn't in all conscience ask them to sign new contracts, knowing he was unlikely to be staying.
I think the wildcard is the rumour of the Saudis wanting to buy the club. If I were advising VVD, Mo and Trent, I'd tell them to wait till that situation becomes clearer. Why negotiate with FSG now, if more generous owners are just round the corner?
We have to remember even Salah was up and coming guy when he joind Liverpool. Honestly people knew he was good but nobody thought he would perform that insanely good on his debut season. These things are natural and I won't be surprised if FSG buy someone who has potential instead of "overrated" in-form player and pay ton of money. This is my personal opinion but I think we should give Ben Doak more regular chances.
Let's not forget that ( roughly ) about 15 years ago, a player over 30y old was " approaching the end " of his playing days. Now the situation is a lot different and players are still going strong at about 35y.
Salah wasn't a big name when Edward's brought him to the club especially as he brought him against Klopps wishes. Also we have invested heavily look at the academy Doak, Trey, Stef, Danns, Kumas, and a whole load more so why do we need to spend if we've already grown our own.
In fairness growing your own talent would be the smart business if your able to consistently throw out quality players, imagine producing your own version of salah from the academy rather than spend 100 mil on them
@karlharvey4806 you mean like young Ben Doak or young Rio this what FSG stated from the start was what they were trying to do while Gobshites are shouting spend spend spend when we've ever needed the monies always been available VVD ALISON NUNEZ are prime examples that went through Caicedo chose Chelsea not because of money but because of N'golo Kante
FSG know exactly what they are doing. They, as a unit have proved time and time again how to recruit and buy talent for next to nothing. They are on the case and if all three go it will be known and planned and catered for. My guess is two out of three will stay.
Until they sign or don't I think it is a waste of time debating the issue. I also believe that, whatever they decide, there will be good enough reason for what is ultimately decided.
Matip & Thiago retired. Ox was worth nothing because he is constantly injured (like the other 2). Nobody was going to buy any of the 3 mentioned for any real value. No disrespect to them, they served the club well!
We don't know the situation behind closed doors, it might have been the players and their agents the reason no contracts have been signed yet. There was a lot of change this summer and maybe the players wanted to know what our situation would be before committing.
Just when our club became really good, and we are experiencing a version of Liverpool that can actually win the premier league and champions league, the club owners are trying to destroy us and get rid of our best players , Liverpool is like " I'm still standing"
They need to sort this out soon... it could lose us the momentum and a good chance at winning the title! Plus letting them go for nothing if contract not extended is crazy..... sort it out LFC.
Vvd and Salah must sign would like Trent but if he doesn't we have immediate replacement of Bradley. That lad is very very good and has massive potential to become a top level player
I have my Suspicions that Mo is gonna end up leaving (Pray he Doesn't) and Maybe Trent... VVD Might be the only one who resigns. This is why we keep hearing about Marmoush coming to Liverpool. I hope I'm Dead Wrong but if we Sign Marmoush, Salah might be Gone!
Details matter. What has each player been offered and is it reasonable. That is ALL that matters. Then you can say if anyone is to blame. If you offered Trent five years at 800k a week and he said no, isn’t that Trent’s fault?
Its always the management. The higher ups in the Liverpool management are more to blame than the owners. Thats why they hire a management team. Its they who do the SWOT analysis or other analysis. But we cannot blame Hughes or Edwards but the people before them are to be blamed.
Yes of course. I am just saying that just like any other big organization, LFC is a business and just like any other big organization its the management that is involved in any job related negotiations. But yeah as fans we are completely ignoring the player factor and putting the onus on the owners and the management because for us as fans, the players cant do anything wrong.
FSG are in this game for profit, Liverpool is their cash cow. FSG have always been buy cheap and sell for big money which is their business model. Mo and VVD are on the wrong side of 30 for another contract given the business model used. What does make me scratch my head is the contract (or lack of) for Trent. He fits in with the business model so unless Trent has already said 'Im off' I dont see what the hold up is here. With Trent he didnt cost us and if he leaves on a free its still a zero balance on the books, yes its profit lost but that blame can be placed with FSG for not fighting harder to keep him. Im still hopeful he will sign before Chrismas 🙂
David Lynch isn’t like mystic Meg come on, gotta get a grip here, he may be well respected like yourself but unless he is personally speaking to people there involved in contracts then he knows nothing it’s speculation
Nothing to do with Schmatke and Klopp generational talent shouldn't be allowed to go into 2years left we always lose players on a free this is Nothing new its the recruitments fault
There is no "finger of blame" here. Salah is not needed in a Slot's system. Instead of getting emotional, fans need to take a deep breath sometimes. Slot presses with a front 4. Salah is the lowest for pressing in the front 4 alongside Diaz, and the least effective. He's getting older so those legs get slower by each year passing. Contracts aren't just about money, it's about playing time and we know he wants to play every game. So we have a player at least on the same wages as before, a year older and not ideal for Slot's system, playing every game. In the meantime you have a replacement you've paid say £60m for sitting on the bench playing second fiddle. No top player is coming in to do that unless your name is Chiesa.... The counter argument is "well look at his goals and assists". We had a similar situation with Coutinho before he left. Remember him? His goals and assists were great too but he wasn't ideal for Klopp's system. In fact Salah's numbers are steadily declining year on year. You then have Trent. Slot doesn't play with attacking full backs. Compare his heat map this season with previous seasons, and then look at his output numbers. He needs to be further up the pitch to be effective for assists but if we don't need him that high up, just what does he give to the team? Certainly isn't his defensive ability is it? How many assists has he had this season so far compared to previous seasons? The only interesting one is VVD. Slot wants centre backs who progress the ball because if you look at the data, the attacks start with the goalkeeper passing to the centre backs who then push the attack up to the midfield in Slot's preferred vertical progression. VVD to his credit has done that more this season. He's the only one I can see staying. It's about being practical and doing what's best for the club. These guys running the club have a job to do.
Salah had best physicality test in preseason, better than your 25yo players. Try hard of downplaying his statistics. Did u talk directly to Slot about his system, who will fit?
@@ukomiukomi887 Fitness and pressing are not the same thing einstein. When you manage to find the time to take your tongue out of Salah's a55, look at the pressing numbers. Not the point Wolf. Of course the club isn't going to turn into stone, but these players have been instrumental to the club's success over the last few years and are a vital asset and shouldn't be just let go. We knew two years ago that their contracts would end in 2025. Why wasn't it addressed. Forget being a fan for a instance and just from a business point of view. Your business. You wouldn't want one of your best assets to be lost for free. That's all
@@FitzroyGeorge-c4h You make a good point, but from a business point of view, even if they signed a 2-year extension, they are only an asset if you can sell them for high amounts.
