I was surprised that you did not grow up somewhere in North America. You speak English with that accent, and you seem like it is your native language.
Their international school must have employed predominantly American teachers.
Their dad is also obviously white.
@@anandabliss9997 Yeah but he's Danish. So English wasn't their first language growing up. However, as someone who grew up in Scandinavia and went to an international school, all of us were fluent in English and kind of had American accents.

I am currently trying to learn Korean. Downloaded 2 apps back in May 2022 and paid for a full year of both apps and now I just paid $65 for an online Korean learning class on Zoom. It’s $65 per month and I’m doing the first month for beginners learning Hangul which I am pretty good at already but I have yet to master it. The class is once a week for 4 weeks, 1 hour a day.
I got interested in this in February 2022 when I got into my first kdrama on American Netflix and someone from that show led me to another kdrama and someone from THAT kdrama let me to a couple more kdramas and to my first K-pop group. Cha Eun Woo who is an actor and singer in a group called Astro. And I’ve just gotten into more kdramas and K-pop over the past 11 months. I’m definitely more into K-pop than kdramas though but I still like kdramas.
A Korean family I know in my hometown in North America told me that their son’s friend went to teach English in South Korea and he thought that would be a great thing for me to do but you have to have a bachelors degree and I have an associates degree so it was a bummer when I found out I can’t go unless I spent at least another 2 years in school. Lol

i always get a bit jealous (envious?) when i hear other's fluency in their first language although they live/d in a country that has a different language and learned that country's language. my parents are turkish and i was born and raised in germany. my turkish is meh. i'm good at understanding, especially day-to-day language. i can communicate a bit but i can't go in depth (but tbh i even struggle with speaking german). you two are super lucky having lived in korea before you moved to denmark. and now, look at you, even your english sounds great. your fluency in your first language probably helped. i wish my parents put more efforts into me learning the language. i'm trying by watching turkish dramas and youtubers. it helps a little. if i ever have kids (not sure i want to, but if) it'd be important to me that they learn turkish, but how, when i struggle with building sentences
