That's perfect, thanks so much for this simple but effective tutorial! I feel very happy to have my tasks organised nicely :)

Thank you for this! I consider my this week, next week, this month, and long term as in terms of the Eisenhower matrix with urgent and important tasks coming first. But I may try this approach and see if it’s better

Hi and thanks for a great video. Is there any way of looking at the system in the Eisenhower matrix, with the four boxes?

Not that I am aware of. The only way I suppose you could do it would be in a board.

Took the COD & Time Sector courses, sort of locked in on that with a few personal twists. Using MS To Do and would use tags to take a look at priorities, but not sure it’s needed, worth exploring, thanks for the video!

It's another simple way to manage tasks. For me, having to decide whether something's important/urgent etc would be too much effort. For others, I'm sure it could work well.

@Carl Pullein your right, reading a book called ‘two awesome hours’ stressing how over deciding can tax our ability to do good work. The more automatic the planning becomes the more brain power for tasks at hand.

I use the Eisenhower view in TickTick throughout my working day (I've tweaked the filters on it so it's more appropriate for me).

It's a wonderfully simple approach that has a lot of potential in almost any app.

given that we assign dates to P1-P3 tasks, how does one (easily) see the P4 "what else can I get done today" items? (both web and iPhone app interfaces)

    • @Carl_Pullein
      @Carl_Pullein  2 ปีที่แล้ว

The way I use the P4 flag is for any task that can be done after I have finished the other three flags. This means they will be at the top of my list towards the end of the day.

@@Carl_Pullein hmm, I'll have to re-watch that section (and your 'My Todoist Setup' video as well). I though you said you don't assign dates to the P4 items; without dates they don't show up on my "today" view at all (or maybe you've built a different view than I'm using).

ah, never mind. Now I've discovered what you've done with your Dashboard, modified that to included undated at the bottom, and made it my "home" as well. Perfect (or close enough until I discover something better in one of your videos).
Thank you so much for your informative videos.

@@StevenVore, All of my routine tasks are not flagged and have dates. I still need a trigger to do the tasks.

DONT forget to do an Eisenhower Matrix in/for apple notes down the road... ❤ I want bullet proof security, and native access 😊 Burned out on 3rd party apps (like Evernote, that burned me !)

That would be an interesting video. You could certainly set this up in Reminders.

@@Carl_Pullein Hi Carl: Just realized something re designing my Apple Notes GTD Eisenhower System:
I want to have every note categorized by the Eisenhower Matrix among other things in the 3 concurrent ways:
      1. FOLDER & TAG (So nothing slips thru the cracks)
      Urgent and Important
      Not Urgent BUT Important
      Not Important and Urgent
      Not Important and Not Urgent
      2. TAG
Then I want to tag everything by the subject matter (Trip) and Action/context (call)
      3. FOLDER LOCATION
Then I want to physically place all the related "stuff" into unique folders so I can scroll through the folder for ideas and making sure I am not missing anything.
That way, I can tag or throw something in a folder on the fly and go back and "clean it up" later during a review..
Just some evolving thoughts out loud... 😊

@@LJ-jq8og I'd be careful there. By their nature, notes would not fit into an Eisenhower Matrix system as they are more for reference not necessarily by importance. For example, I have the supplier names of where I buy things like Yorkshire Tea, sweaters, socks etc. These would not fall into a Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4 category.

@@Carl_Pullein OK, thx, I will have to work on a workaround.
