    Is the rear wheel lift only for clipped pedals? I didn't hear if you are running flats or clips 🤔

    • @Hansnowayrey
      @Hansnowayrey  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i was riding flat pedals, the technique works with either pedal, you don't just pull up on your feet, push your feet down, back and up in one dynamic motion to stick to the pedal and to swing / lift the rear wheel up.

    THE BETTER WAY IS : with feet level, ride your front wheel a bit wide on the turn, then just before (not too early) you're about to turn, drop your foot (opposite of which way you're turning)...it would be soooo easy! And this way, you can do it on a relatively faster speed.

    I see you really having your weight behind the saddle. This is something that would go against the advice of most instructions videos. Keep your weight right above the bottombracket is the general advice. This makes more sense since you need to have some weight on the front tyre to keep enough traction.

    • @Hansnowayrey
      @Hansnowayrey  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you watch the actual video or did you just look at the screen photo? You obviously didn't.

    • @TheJupilo
      @TheJupilo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Hansnowayrey, I watched it and that's why I decided to place the comment above. From your reaction I understand you agree with having the weight above the bottom bracket but that's not what you show in the video. At 1.12 you're not heavy on your feet (like a lot of instructors like to call it) but you have your weight hanging above the rear wheel. Which is ok and probably makes it a little less likely that someone goes over the bars but you might lose traction with your front tire. I hope I explained myself well and you can deal with this feedback, because that's only what this is.

    • @Hansnowayrey
      @Hansnowayrey  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheJupilo right on, all good. Every turn is different and they all need slightly different handling, also depending on how steep it is and what you goal is (trying to be fast, or safe or clean, etc...). Generally one should put the weight back only for as split second at the crucial moment, over doing it can be a common mistake. But in that particular turn, with its radius and it was pretty smooth, fast and safe to ride it as I did. But there are def. more than one way to do so.....

    • @blairspinney6667
      @blairspinney6667 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think these conversations are great. Break down the technique and see what works for you. Other videos say the hips should be over the bottom bracket and Hans is saying behind the seat but since he is going down a hill aren't they the same thing ? Watching the video his hips are directly over the bottom bracket when the camera is level.

  • @sapinva
