Years ago, Five Below used to sell nail polish that was photochromic, it would change color in ultraviolet light, sunlight included. I did a few custom motorcycles with it, but sadly there was never a Caucasian pink that turned blue. One of my bikes was done in a color scheme like the Swamp Skier, and kind of like the Dreadnok version of the RAM cycle from the Sears special edition in the original run. Excepting the tires, I made it change like that one. I customized two figures like the exclusive boxed set of three, Zartan into Hawk, sort of Tiger Force, the orange of their pants changes to brown. I color-matched the stripes so they blend in and disappear, rather than being black stripes. (I prefer the 25th-30th Anniversary style and 4" scale.)
Agreed, I want ALL versions of Zartan as he is such an iconic character! Give us Cold Slither, Ninja Force Mohawk, Pursuit of Cobra version ALL Zartan’s will be picked up! Thanks for sharing
i have the original Swamp Skier, of course, but my 25th ann Zartan rides a Star Wars flying bike thiing...it is such a cool update for him. I was going to paint it, but the color of the Star WArs thing is perfect for him as is. It was a total slap in the face of Hasbro to give us a Smurf Swamp Skier in the 25th ann liine.

I really like the first release of Zartan especially with the muted dark colors on him and the MOD version! I have the MOD version as the leader of my Dreadnoks while the first release is rocking the Soft Master mask as like a copycat type of illusion for Zartan! I won't be picking up the retro Zartan cause I gotta save some space for future Dreadnoks. I have Zarana so I'm looking forward to Buzzer, Ripper and the rest of the Dreadnoks. Also, I love the edits and outtakes you have in your videos! 😂 I gotta tell you, it was perfect. Perfect. Everything, down to the last minute details

Love these reviews, love the G.I. Joe Classified line, love the Master of Disguise Zartan, but disagree that everyone would buy those suggested exclusives. I'd likely pass on all three unless they were significantly re-designed from the original models. Curious to see if there's any Valaverse Action Force in your collection and what you think of them next to the Joes.
Yeah, if it's the same mold I will skip too. I will try to be more clear next time that I would like a new mold for the suggested exclusives. I do have some Valaverse but my favorite line is GI Joe so I'm trying to work through them. I plan to add Valaverse, MOTU, and some random pick ups to my channel. Just trying to find the time. I never thought it his hood was hair. maybe i'm just older. But i never even thought his hair was orange until the Ninja Force Zartan, and it was a shock at first,...and then i was like "OHYEAH! His siblings have that hair color" and it just clicked. Zartan has always been my favorite since he was first introduced. Flash was my FIRST Joe figure before Zartan came to the table.
Sold the first one, kept the MOD and getting the retro version. You know, some custom Jem and The Holograms action figures plus a Cold Slither Zartan would rock! LOL. I wouldn't know where to place him in a battle but he is a must buy; a fun figure definitely.
I have the first two releases. I'm undecided still on the retro one. The Master of Disguise version is my favorite, with two nitpicks. One, I wish the figure had came with a compound bow rather than a longbow, as I believe he used a compound bow when he killed both the Soft Master and Serpentor (sorry, spoilers). Two, I actually don't like color change feature as my figure is out of the box, standing on a shelf in my office, which is cold six months out of the year, so he never looks right. I would rather see the Desert Nomad Zartan figure from the Pursuit of Cobra (?) toyline get the Classified treatment than the neon ninja era figure. Was never a fan of that one.
@@BaldyLockz MOD Zartan's color looks off even in a warm room. It was 80 degrees in here yesterday and he was still really gray. They also need to release Zandar and Zarana in a color change at some point. Maybe a 2 pack at SDCC or PulseCon down the road.

But, I saw Serpentor and his air chariot at a local shop, and that’s all it took for me to jump in with both feet. Picked Serpentor and Dr. Mindbender up at the same time. It was $$, but worth it.
You can’t do Cold Slither until the other Noks are made. The Chameleon swamp skier is something I would like. There’s a simple mod to change in sunlight? I actually never understood that weakness. Isn’t the sun light prevalent most of the day? The Retro looks cool.
Aah, the cartoon Zartan always considered sunlight a weakness. The Zartan from the toy lines always seemed to play that off like it was another form of camouflage, or another disguise. I also happen to think it was what Zandar and Zarana used to play up, especially also with their hair color. I always preferred the comics to the cartoon, anyway.
I've got the original muted colour one. I'm very happy with it. He likes to blend in so the colour palette makes sense. I also like his unnatural skin tone. After all he altered his biology. All that said I'm a sucker for bright colours and like the look of the new one. The retro will be good for anyone who missed out on the previous two versions.
I know it's somewhat unrelated, but you popping on and off that hood reminds me how I'd really like for them to do M.A.S.K. characters in this style & scale.
Ninja Force Zartan and Cold Slither Zartan I would by both Zartan v3 with the Saw Viper body and gear is my dream Zartan that was my Zartan when I started collecting as an “adult” lol
The Retro Card Zartan is available?! I've barely got ANY Classified Joes as it is? If it weren't for the Retro Card line, I wouldn't be buying the Classified figures. I got lucky a few weeks ago and found a Retro Destro but I'm waiting for him to be more available before I open him up. I also got lucky that a buddy of mine needed a Marvel Legends Jigsaw and traded me his 1st edition Zartan for one of my spare Jigsaws.
I prefer the classified one the best …..the Walmart Retro line the only ones I picked up were Destro and baroness ,I heard theses are the last 4 figures in the Retro line for a total of 8 figures…….I’ll grab the commando snake eyes also
I think the retro line is cool but a bit too late to grab folks like me who wanted classic designs from the get go. I ended up buying the Super 7 Joes since they are cartoon based. I now have those in hand and love them. While I think Classified is a great line, I’m just not into modern designs etc. Great comparison in the video.

I need to experiment with that finger nail polish...maybe on a skeleton figure...i've been painting and lining my new ARCEE figure...naugh...hmm...doubles! I have some TMNT Mega Construx Doubles! so,anyways, i do think they should keep the Zartan feature a always feature for him. But then the price of the figures would always cost more, just like the first one did.
Even tho it's not cartoon accurate, I like the brown one the best. I might have to give him Storm Shadows bow. Always liked him with a bow. Didn't the original have a clear chest plate? That's what we need.

I always liked the silver because I read the comic but my nitpick is the cold color change. It leaves him with an almost permanent gray hue in the cold months

Why does both the original and retro hardback filmcard say his faction is G.I. Joe?
His and Destros and I thinks some others had GI Joe for some reason. I know Destros was changed to Cobra and the Cobra logo is harder to find.
I skipped master of disguise due to the silver. I hated that color scheme. Which stinks cuz he comes with the best stuff.

I wanna then to remake him. He's too huge and bulky and his head scuplt is trash.
They definitely went big but he feels like a biker gang leader to me. I do agree the head sculpt could use some work. I feel like the paint app on the retro definitely improves him
