as a Tasmanian currently living in Queensland, this brought me to tears immediately. To hear somebody talk about Tassie’s beauty, it’s history and to just see it, is so fucking familiar and refreshing. I really miss my home.
Such a magical place, l hope it can be preserved forever so the stories can live on. Such a privilege to walk amongst those trees Rob, imagine the miners possibly never understood the significance of the King Billy pine other than a source to be utilised. Hopefully the trees will survive for another millennia, so much can't be learnt just in this area alone. Thank you for sharing the history of the hut, what a monument to time!
Well, don't watch or share this channel! If the monarchy is over tho wen, then Tasmania will be devastated by human greed. And then humans will understand why no huge mining companies are never allowed to blast and kill the unique diversity on the remote island of Tasmania
Hi Lee. As someone appart of the team that works with Terry Reid to help restore and maintain huts as well as the forest itself (like replanting new King Billy saplings etc) on the West coast of Tasmania we sure aim for this. Thanks for the support.
My favourite type of Rob Parsons vid! Stunning, beautiful history. Oh my gosh the quoll was amazing! Trying to take advantage a warm fire hut, cute little bugger. 🥰 and that mine is epic, the colours are beautiful. You'd almost want to go swimming in there in summer, it's so clear! 😄 Falling snow is the most magical thing. Thanks, Rob, very cool video!
My ancestors worked that area, logging and mining. Heritage Howard and Walters. I was so excited to see history of an ancestor life experience logged in the hut journal. Thank you for sharing your marvellous adventures, without your wonderings I would have never seen this history.
My Grandpa's little 18 foot clinker built boat was King Billy. Soft so you needed to take care when scraping off the hull for re-painting. Beautiful timber. Lots rellies were in the timber and mineral work. Love our forest and history. Our little draught horses were outstanding too, very sure footed. Tremendous video, thank you.
I did this walk with my family for my 16th birthday, just a few years ago and we spent the whole weekend there. It’s just so crazy to look back at the history and amount of work put into these places over almost 100 years. Just for nature to come back and fit this hut in like it’s a beautiful jigsaw puzzle.
Hi Rob. Thanks of this journey. Ive recently had a massive work accident and its left me unable to walk for a while. Your travels take me away from my mundane bed bound life. Cheers from Greg
Magic. Absolutely magic Rob. After a few months break it is nice to "go out on an adventure" with you again. Watched a couple of Levi's vids today too with the two of you on mad gold! So good to see you both making content again.
There is something so incredibly magical and special about snow falling in Tassie amongst the forest. The silence and peace that come with it are hard to describe. Thank you for capturing that and reminding me of just how beautiful that experience is.
Yep totally enjoyed Rob, You take us with you to such incredible places; to experience (albeit virtually) the most amazing adventures with you. Many many thanks . 🥰😇
I love the photography of the snow coming down, I’m 62 and have never seen it coming down before ,the first time I saw snow on the ground I was 50 and only copped sleet or frozen rain hitting me, what an awesome hut thats all I need to live in 😊, Thanks Rob ,we have koalas round my place at the moment grunting away as it’s breeding season, I love living in the bush away from Lego Land
fantastic video. A shout out to the incredible people who look after these huts and tracks all through tassie. Without you, these adventures would not be possible
Gee mate I never tire of going on these journeys with you, I feel your love and appreciation of where you are and what you are doing. Keep sharing with us please, I love it
That's crazy Rob, the other day I was thinking "I've not been on one of Rob's very insightful educational history walks/adventures for a while" and there you pop up 😁🤗 Thanks man, your island is so beautiful and steeped in amazing untold history... 👊🏽
Fantastic Photography Rob, what a fairy land, post card beautiful place. The stuff of a bush hikers dreams. Thank you Mate. Cheers from Michael. Australia.
It’s these kind of videos that keep me watching the channel. The gold is all good and such, but I love these backcountry videos. Another great video Rob! Thanks bruh.
Brilliant brilliant Rob just brilliant best video you've made in a long time. Not taking away from any others but this one had that something special about it.....Thanks rob, keep up the good work..Pete from Devonport.
I took a group of NSW Venturer Scouts to that hut in 1980. It’s a great steep walk but well worth visiting the cabin. One story told was of the huge resident snake. It’s probably produced many descendants by now. Thanks for the memories. Cheers 👍🏻🙏😓
Fantastic to see it's snowing out there in Tasmania. It's a very beautiful place you spent the night. Thank you for sending all these videos. I get to live somewhere that I've never been. Thanks so much
Rob thank you so much for this video! As a Queenslander I’ve never seen snow let alone snow falling! It must have been a wonderful experience to be amongst that! Definitely prioritising this on my bucket list!
Rob it's always amazing to see how much different y'all's wildlife is than ours is here in my home. ( North Carolina) Really crazy differences. It's so beautiful keep up the good work man
Wow! Super beautiful. 😍 We are so lucky to live here, and even though we hike into some beautiful locations, I would never probably venture into these old huts. You got perfect timing for the snow..such a fairytale landscape. 🤗
Another wonderful history episode. There is so much out there that has been reclaimed by mother nature. The huts that have been restored. Thanks for showing us the scenery and the snow. Great Video and photos.
Thanks Rob for sharing such a remote and historical trek into the beautiful bush land of Tassie, amazing photography and audio from yourself I absolutely love the history of Aussieland, Tasmania certainly is the most interesting ❤
Not only enjoyed but felt like I am doing this by myself. Simply wow bro...❤. I just felt like I am there in that beautiful old historical house... What a place....
THANKS LEVI Here in Thailand I am American been 7 years since I saw snow in Denver Colorado visiting my son. He was barbequeing and it atarted to snow. Love the Tassie Boys adventures . GOLD Snipping in the rivers

Love your adventures Rob, reminds me of my Scout days and going away camping and exploring. How amazing is that Hut, glad it snowed for you while you were there, it would have made for a more enjoyable trip. Keep making these videos as its interesting to learn about History in years gone by.
brilliant! thank you for the childhood memory vision of snow falling in chunky bits on a beautiful winter night in prairie Manitoba. Many you vids trigger memories for this old lady & I am grateful
gem of an upload. we took our young fellas there in may and were hoping for snow but missed it by a couple of hundred metres of elevation. nevertheless we fell in love with this little hut which has been well cared for by terry and others. i hope you appreciated the shrine of ablution - my favourite place to receive morning sunlight and wisdom.
What a beautiful and interesting journey! Thanks for taking us with you to that winter wonderland and that incredible snowy cabin in the woods. I really loved the old mine with that stunning view!!! Great job Rob 🎉
Really enjoyed this video. Love the lumberjack and coal miner history and flora + fauna lessons: Log shoes, shoe tracks, King Billy Pines, pineapple grass , glow worms and the cabin etc. Not sure of the rat's name. Thanks for your channel. Glad you got the snow you wanted.😊
A spectacular area magnificently shown, thank you, Rob. Thosr signposts must be of King Billy Pine to have persisted, and the tracks intersecting looked they'd have been quite active in spite of the ruggedness and wildness of this gobsmackingly beautiful countryside. The visitor's respect shows in the hut's maintenance and the many comforts people have left for others to come, in a perpetuity of grace. Thanks for adding to it, and sharing, as you ever do. Cheers from Gabi of Narre Warren, Victoria.
OMG, Rob truely awesome video when you think it can’t get any better and you deliver. Those views are incredible (no risk no reward !!!)Thanks for sharing you live an amazing life.Cheers Shane
Grew up with Terry Reid and his brother Peter as my scout master. Stayed at the hut twice, beautiful spot. The bush rats are as big as your head and visit you when you sleep.
Peaceful, glorious, an d all those adjectives. What a joy to share this with you.I Am remembering an article I once read in the old Tasmanian walking club journals. Fantastic reading if you can get them. Be safe.
Many years ago I learned that if you wait for others to join you in the things you want to experience, you'll be waiting your whole life. It's clear that you're well aware of this too.
That was really interesting and it makes you realise the tenacity those old timers must have had to get an operation like that set up and running in terrain like that. And then the trampers hut, so well appointed and stocked, awesome!
Thank you. 42:59 Thank you so much. I was so happy it snowed and it was awesome seeing the quokka without expecting it. I smiled from ear to ear and when I saw the waterfall it just 😮. It was a beautiful video and I like your choice of music.
So much beauty. Gotta tell you something, birdsong in the morning makes the pores in the leaves wake up. I reckon a couple of those trees were waving like mad at you when you went out and and had the joy of the snow in your voice.. They have gotten used to having people around and must like it when people come around So yeah, they hear the birds, so they can hear us, for sure.
