Such a magical place, l hope it can be preserved forever so the stories can live on. Such a privilege to walk amongst those trees Rob, imagine the miners possibly never understood the significance of the King Billy pine other than a source to be utilised. Hopefully the trees will survive for another millennia, so much can't be learnt just in this area alone. Thank you for sharing the history of the hut, what a monument to time!
Well, don't watch or share this channel! If the monarchy is over tho wen, then Tasmania will be devastated by human greed. And then humans will understand why no huge mining companies are never allowed to blast and kill the unique diversity on the remote island of Tasmania
My favourite type of Rob Parsons vid! Stunning, beautiful history. Oh my gosh the quoll was amazing! Trying to take advantage a warm fire hut, cute little bugger. 🥰 and that mine is epic, the colours are beautiful. You'd almost want to go swimming in there in summer, it's so clear! 😄 Falling snow is the most magical thing. Thanks, Rob, very cool video!
Yep totally enjoyed Rob, You take us with you to such incredible places; to experience (albeit virtually) the most amazing adventures with you. Many many thanks . 🥰😇
Phenomenal work and an incredible adventure Rob. Enjoyed this much. The clear water in the mine and the extrusions of colors and minerals leaching out of mine wall were incredible. Thank for sharing your love and passion of Tasmania with us viewers 💪👊😆🇺🇸⚒️⚒️⚒️⚒️⚒️⚒️⚒️⚒️⚒️⚒️
Brilliant brilliant Rob just brilliant best video you've made in a long time. Not taking away from any others but this one had that something special about it.....Thanks rob, keep up the good work..Pete from Devonport.
Another wonderful history episode. There is so much out there that has been reclaimed by mother nature. The huts that have been restored. Thanks for showing us the scenery and the snow. Great Video and photos.
It’s these kind of videos that keep me watching the channel. The gold is all good and such, but I love these backcountry videos. Another great video Rob! Thanks bruh.
Wow! Super beautiful. 😍 We are so lucky to live here, and even though we hike into some beautiful locations, I would never probably venture into these old huts. You got perfect timing for the snow..such a fairytale landscape. 🤗
Another magical adventure Rob. Thank you for taking us along for the ride. It's pretty amazing that the cabin hasn't succumbed to bushfires over the past 100 years. 🫰🙏
Thank you Rob. Fantastic video - love the forests and the aerial view and the hut and mines. What an awesome place to visit! Thanks for sharing with us.
Hi Rob. Thanks of this journey. Ive recently had a massive work accident and its left me unable to walk for a while. Your travels take me away from my mundane bed bound life. Cheers from Greg
What a beautiful and interesting journey! Thanks for taking us with you to that winter wonderland and that incredible snowy cabin in the woods. I really loved the old mine with that stunning view!!! Great job Rob 🎉
My mum is from Tassie and all her side of the family still live there throughout the North West. They used to live in Queenstown when she was younger. I'm so excited for this one! Thank you 😄
That was really interesting and it makes you realise the tenacity those old timers must have had to get an operation like that set up and running in terrain like that. And then the trampers hut, so well appointed and stocked, awesome!
That was amazing Rob the Forest was beautiful the hut what a history and the mine that was very interesting that blue green oxidisation looked like Copper to me .Thanks for taking us along.
A spectacular area magnificently shown, thank you, Rob. Thosr signposts must be of King Billy Pine to have persisted, and the tracks intersecting looked they'd have been quite active in spite of the ruggedness and wildness of this gobsmackingly beautiful countryside. The visitor's respect shows in the hut's maintenance and the many comforts people have left for others to come, in a perpetuity of grace. Thanks for adding to it, and sharing, as you ever do. Cheers from Gabi of Narre Warren, Victoria.
Peaceful, glorious, an d all those adjectives. What a joy to share this with you.I Am remembering an article I once read in the old Tasmanian walking club journals. Fantastic reading if you can get them. Be safe.
So much beauty. Gotta tell you something, birdsong in the morning makes the pores in the leaves wake up. I reckon a couple of those trees were waving like mad at you when you went out and and had the joy of the snow in your voice.. They have gotten used to having people around and must like it when people come around So yeah, they hear the birds, so they can hear us, for sure.
That was pretty cool Rob. No pun intended. You got your wish for snow at the old hut. I somehow could tell you were pretty chuffed about that. That old mine was pretty wicked too. Nice over nighter. One I am sure you will never forget. Nothing quite like being hunkered down in an old hut with fire blazing & hot food at your fingertips while snowing outside. Snug as a bug in a rug. Nice one mate. John from New Zealand :)
Those are some of the beefiest snow flakes I've seen!! Tassie is wild. Also those old boys did it tough .. those damp dark mines don't look like the most inviting working conditions
What an awesome part of the world you live in. So primal in parts. I can't help wondering what made the miners head off into such a remote area thinking they would find something in the first place. I think you're mental going into that mine alone but I'm also glad you filmed it and shared it. Great video Rob. Awesome! 😃
Love the Radix plant based meals. The best! Tasty and quick to hydrate. Will definitely use you link to grab some. Loved the quoll. Worth visiting just for that!
Thanks for that, Rob - very interesting adventure. Really good to hear about the different trees and see a cheeky camper! We'll have to get that book, just had some bits made from some reclaimed King Billy & Huon, so it was great to see it still actually lives & grows, it's a lovely wood. Happy trails! That view from the mine was awesome and the falls looked incredible! I think it would be good to tell us the month you are filming as it gives more depth and context. Do you think Tigers would live in that neck of the woods?
WOW, as always the highest quality of adventure on display. Amazing history and story of the old hut, so nearly lost forever save for the chance discovery by the forestry dept. The view around the 36 minute mark might be one of the nicest you have ever shared with us, thanks. Serious question; did you leave your gigantic balls outside the mine, or was there just enough space in the collapsed entrance to squeeze them through? Love your content, always look forward to the next adventure.
Couldn't find my comment from earlier viewing.Thank you. Lived in Rosebery; worked in Rosebery & Zeehan, 1971-73. From Frazer Creek Cabin Journal, heard Rob mention R J Howard building infrastructure, etc on trail to do with Dundas Tram. I met some Howards in Zeehan, 1972, Mrs Howard & Priest son.
wow loved that adit. a metal detector would locate any silver they missed and pumping that water over rusty iron would recover any copper. I would like to shake the hand of the man who found that ore body. must have been part mountain goat.
You are amazing the things you do. You are very knowledgeable with everything about Tasmania. Can you please give me the name of the music you used through that video, is lovely. Keep up the good work, and I love you family.
Another great video. Would love to know how you look for things in history and try to retrace them. Whether a hut, a mine, a slate tablet or Tassie Tiger. You must spend hours researching sometimes. Libraries or online. Love to know
As a Tassie boy living away, you and Levi make me homesick. Love your channels
Same here mate.makes me wish I never left

Wettest, coldest place I've ever spent the night. We couldn't get the fire going, the wood was so wet. But beautiful in the snow!
I always enjoy your adventures.

Very cool Rob great episode 👍
You are amazing the things you do. You are very knowledgeable with everything about Tasmania. Can you please give me the name of the music you used through that video, is lovely. Keep up the good work, and I love you family.
Hi, great video. You should carry some patrolum jelly. It melts and soaks into the wood and burns long time to get the fire going.
Great work again mate 🇦🇺 👍
