3 hours is realistic. It sounds like you’ve got a few flights out of yours so far. You could always take a portable charger with you if you need to fly more - you can charge the controller on the go.

After we put memory card to RC Pro, using mini 3 pro drone, how to download or save screen recording directly in to the memory card inside the RC Pro... Thank you
Thanks and congratulations for the explanation! I'm Alessandro from Italy I recently took 2s + rc pro and every day I learn something new. I spent a lot, for my pockets, but I'm very happy. I wanted to ask you if on rc pro you can migrate and install apps on the sd card so as not to occupy the internal memory of the rc pro to keep the controller performance high. THANK YOU
Thank you mate, just got this controller and your video was huge help to make a quick dive. Additional question, do you know if the RC Pro Controller supports the QuickTransfer method? I see it only working for the iPhone. :/
You might have to move the file across using the file management system. I don’t know if you can change the default screen recording location on the RC Pro. It does it automatically on the RC, maybe try formatting the card through the RC Pro’s interface and see if it prompts you to change default storage location?
@@DansTubeTV On the Mini 3 PRO RC it saves screen recordings on the SD card! Just not on the RC PRO. How/where do I find the formatting of the SD card sitting in the RC PRO? Tried powering up controller and drone. Down in "camera" I clicked "internal" memory and found format and selected the SD card. Let's see if that helps out.
I couldn’t find the specifics for you. I tried to search online. I don’t own the controller anymore so I can’t confirm. I believe that it will display the video in the quality that it displays on the controller but I could be wrong.
I'm confused on what use the files on the rc pro would have? I normally use relatively low resolution video settings because I just uploaded directly to TH-cam without any editing. I would rather not use a computer if possible. Could this be done with only a portable hard drive and the rc pro? Or at least save the stuff for later and clear the drone for more flights while on vacation? This would make a good video topic I think. All this connectivity gets confusing
Hi Dan, I have a Mavic 3. I am unable to setup the zoom function on the right dial. It is setup to ZOOM IN/OUT but nothing happens. Any suggestions? Awesome Vid BTW!!!
Thank you! Customized buttons, yeah, great if you actually know how to do it. This is the first place I found that actually tells you how to do it, geez. I don't know if I would ever use it, but I assume that to use downloaded apps (like games, streaming, etc) you would need to be connected to a WiFi?
@@DansTubeTV Thanks. It's how I connect the Mini & Mini 2 to the DJI Goggles when the controller doesn't have an HDMI Out or is faulty. I'm hoping this is also on the new Mini 3 Pro controller 👍
1st, thank you for this...as you mentioned, it's not spelled out, so your video is CHEFS KISS! Ok, so after downloading UAV, DB and OS, the only one that's working is UAF forecast. I noticed yours was still loading when you closed the window...it's still "loading" for DB, and OS just has a white/blank screen. So do they work?
I have been having issues as well. It might not be supported properly yet. It might be worth reinstalling and trying a few different things. Disable the gps might fix the issue.
Nice work! Have you had to calibrate the Controller. If so, how? I follow the instructions, but nothing confirms a new calibration. My Controller is brand new; hence, it's not calling for a calibration. I'm just curious what your experience has been. Thank for sharing this very informative content.
I have not had to calibrate the controller. All I have done is connect the controller to the drone (I included those steps in the video). If that doesn’t work then you might have to contact DJI?
Affirmative, I haven't had to calibrate mine either. With my Smart Controller, Mavic 2 Pro, one can calibrate anytime and it will acknowledge. My conclusion is that if the RC needs calibration, it will indicate so. Thnx for getting back to me so soon.
My controller and drone are being serviced by DJI right now as the controller asks to be recalibrate randomly but will not come out of the prompt. DJI tells me nothing is wrong with it so I'm getting a little frustrated with this issue and lack of concern from DJI.
@@susanott3541 Had similar issues and sub-par response from DJI with my Mavic 2 Smart Controller concerning update connectivity. Be persistent and don't settle. They eventually replaced my M2 Pro Smart Controller, but I never received and prognosis. So far my RC Controller on my M3 has been flawless. Stay strong!
Great idea for a tip video. - wish I thought of it myself! I am working on an RC Pro vs. Autel Smart Controller comparison (the Autel is a beast but needs more dev time) I think you meant "NTFS" for file systems - you said NTFC I think, LOL! Also the FW Update in January allowed you save cache and video all to the SD Card (Finally) - you set it up in Android Settings menu, not in the Fly app. I've been offloading drone video to a good 5 GB external I've been offloading drone video to, but hadn't moved data from RC Pro, duh! You can connect it to PC wirelessly, and if you have cloud storage, use a better Android File manager that can access OneDrive, Google Drive Amazon AWS etc. Lots of options with this controller. Now if they just allow it to connect to more DJI products via FW we will be in great shape!
You could still do a tips and settings video on your channel. It sound like you have some additional insights and tips that you can add to your video 😁 I’ll subscribe. You made some great points, thanks for sharing ⭐️
@@DansTubeTV Thank you. Glad I found your channel. I'm a techie at heart, but I really need to invest in good post editing and more professional presentation. I'm finishing a PC build and deciding on editing SW, vs the quick & dirty stuff I've been doing. Your video production is what I dream of doing, if I can get anywhere near it I'll be ecstatic.
Thank you for the kind words, I’m sure that you can build up to my production quality. I hired myself an editor, I decided to outsource what I wasn’t good at and now my production quality has stepped up significantly.
Through the DJI Fly app you can view them and then download them to the RC Pro. You can then view the videos/photos through the file management system on the RC Pro.
New drone flyer here. Does the controller need to be connected to the internet (wifi or hotspot) in order to fly? Or does it only need to be able to talk to the drone? I'm just wondering how mapping and flying in controlled zones work. Is that all taken care of via its GPS connection?
You do not need to be connected to the internet to fly the drone. That is only to update the controller or access the maps. Geofencing is built into the drone/controller so that you can’t fly in controlled zones/no-fly zones. If you need anymore support or guidance then my drone course has everything that you’ll need: www.fearlessdrone.academy 👈
@@DansTubeTV sure👍.. I want to know whether all the options/buttons we see in the DJI Fly app will come in the output video or can we just output the video without it? If we get an option to remove the application button in the output video, it will be a game changer.
@4:17 what if drone is in opposite direction e.g: I am sitting in car facing north and sending drone to south for footage..then what direction of antenas should I choose?
Wait? I'm being a bit dumb and confused here with the storage of videos and photos. Does the RC Pro record and store video and photo on its onboard MicroSD or external drive instead of the drone? or do i still need to have an MicroSD card in the Drone itself for all the recordings? Or does it do both?
Got the ‘RC Pro’ when they upgraded the package deal BACK in November ‘21. I had ordered the Smart controller with the A2S and was I SURPRISED when it showed up WITH the RC Pro!? Since then I’ve lost my ability to zoom with the A2s and EVERY update has just glossed over it..with it never having come back. The “Height” data is never correct: it starts as an obvious ‘0.0’ reading on launch and inevitably ends-up in ‘-. 0’ territory landing in the SAME place whether it’s RTH or a “controlled” return. It’s pretty much perfect in terms of signal strength, maintaining satellites, etc. I generally on average have as many as 23-26 satellites with seconds of launch, very quick. I live in a rural setting so “flying at night” is a risky affair..and something I’d like to do more of. Anyway, I suppose a call to a DJI tech is in my future..thanks.
Hi Dan, so I have managed, eventually, to get "OpenSky" installed as per your instructions but comes up with a message "OpenSky won't run without Google Play Services.............which this device does not support", any ideas?
great video. thanks. i followed ur process of binding my air2s to RC pro and i get this message, can u please help. please note earlier i had connected my air2s to the RC-N1 that came with the air2s kit. the message i am getting is: connected device not bound to aircraft. you may continue flying with the connected device 5 times(s). connect to ur bound device: Remote controller (SN:3QDZJ****76KP) to continue or perform the following steps 1. Change Bound Device 2. Unbind Device 3.Cancel also if i cancel, then i can still use my drone with the RC Pro. am confused what this message is and should I continue using it. thanks for your help
Thank you so much for this. One question: You mention "Copying your footage to the hard drive" as the best way to backup on the fly. But, unless I missed it, you did not explain how to do that once the hard drive is connected. Could you please share that? Thanks.
Thanks for watching! You can use the file system through the RC Pro. The same process as any Android device. You can copy/cut files and then paste them into the HDD directory/folder in the file system.
Hello I Got the mavic 3 and rc Pro controller. If i make the mastershot i Can tap on the wand to let the program mix the video, and then i Got the option to share it on fb. But it say its not install, have to fix it 😊
Hi Dan: On my RC Pro the right top corner wheel „Zoom“ works only on / in Video mode b u t N o t in Photo mode. Can you let me kindly know what the problem is with my RC Pro ? ❤
Is it possible to adjust the aperture, shutter speed or iso with the wheels (dials) of the Zoom or camera tilt? I think one of the most important things would be to do this, instead of using the shortcuts to turn up the screen brightness and volume. Thanks!
This might have been updated since the video was published, but my new RC Pro with Air 2S defaults to holding C1 and use the zoom wheel for shutter speed, or holding C2 and use the zoom wheel for ISO - both in Pro mode of course. Air 2S obviously doesn't have adjustable aperture, so not sure if that's present for the M3 settings too👍
Hi Dan, my old DJI smart controller had to option to toggle the onscreen display settings on and off do you know if the RC or the RC PRO also has this option? It was a finger slide up or down to turn them on or off… when filming critical content it is important to see the whole screen. Cheers
I was talking to the DJI Service centre in Australia the other day and as part of the discussion was expressing my disappointment with cine mode as opposed to tripod mode on the M2 Pro. I told him no matter what I do I simply cannot get the M3 to fly as slow as the M2P which is disastrous for cinematic moves. He was non-committal on whether a fix was coming for this but of course mentioned the EXP settings which I had already tweaked long ago. HOWEVER he made a passing mention about 2 screws on the back of the RC Pro controller that can dampen your control inputs. I can see a couple of possibilities on the back but not which ones or how you would actually make the adjustments. Any ideas?
That is really unfortunate, I don’t know anything about the 2 screws on the back of the controller so I can’t comment. Have you tried to contact another drone store/DJI reseller? Alternatively, go to the DJI forums or other TH-cam videos? I’m sure that someone has the answer! Best of luck 🤞
This will help to a degree, I have silicone knobs that slide over the existing sticks which make the control sticks longer, which in turn reduces the input to the controller thus slowing things down. Cheers Andy B.
@@DansTubeTV on the same topic of responsiveness, I have seen Tech Drone Media's video th-cam.com/video/hHU5RA6xvUU/w-d-xo.html ...explaining how to adjust the gimbal yaw & pitch speed and responsiveness for the Air2S, but he was using the RC-N1 controller. Apparently it can be adjusted separately for each of Cine, Normal and Sport modes. My RC Pro shows no "advanced gimbal settings" which he goes into under the Control menu, so I would love to know how we get these settings using the RC Pro. If you have any info on this please let me know.
@@DansTubeTV hmm... Where would I find those? Nothing to do with exposure really, it is all about the gimbal movement. I am in contact now with DJI locally to get this sorted... hopefully.
People get SO hung up on the antenna position... The range of The transmission is so great that it really doesn't matter if the antenna are pointed straight up or straight out when the aircraft is straight over you or 100 m away. Unless you're having connection issues it really doesn't matter what direction the antenna are pointed in, you're more likely to get interference from objects blocking the aircraft then you will be from what direction the antenna are pointing. And yes, I based this on thousands of flight hours of experience.
over half of this video was about apps and games to load, I just wanted to know how the buttons work.. Don't need to know how to use my controler to load candy crush...
Your process works fine for free apps, but I haven't yet found a way to download paid apps from the Play store. As the URL that shows up isn't a download link until you buy the app. And you can't buy the app without "associating" the controller with the Google Play store. It's a real chicken & egg situation! Let me know if you have any ideas!
That is a good point, I don’t know how you’ll get around that. Maybe we have to wait for the paid app to be supported by the RC Pro and then we can download it? I would suggest contacting DJI directly.
Good vid. But "so you can have EXACTLY the settings you want" is completely untrue. The 5D is restricted to the few options DJI think you should have and not the ones you want. But they are available on other buttons. Very disappointing.
@@DansTubeTV Yeh, such an easy fix, too. They just need to tweak the firmware and allow everything to be controlled by whatever we want. Like...I'd LOVE for one of the buttons to be assigned to a toggle for the colour assist.
I don’t know about that, it might be a software limitation that they have imposed. If bypass disappears when you switch to cine mode than maybe you can’t use it.

I wanted to ask you if on rc pro you can migrate and install apps on the sd card so as not to occupy the internal memory of the rc pro to keep the controller performance high. THANK YOU
I don’t know about that, you could test it. I believe that it installs apps to the root directory but I might be wrong 🤷♂️
@@DansTubeTV oky thanks!
Thank you mate, just got this controller and your video was huge help to make a quick dive. Additional question, do you know if the RC Pro Controller supports the QuickTransfer method? I see it only working for the iPhone. :/
I haven’t seen that function pop up on the RC Pro yet, it does pop up when I use my iPhone with the standard controller though.
Lots of interesting tips. Thanks!
One Q: How to make the screen recordings to be stored on the SD card and not on the internal storage?
Fingers crossed 🤞 I don’t own the RC Pro anymore so I can’t check it on my end unfortunately.
Does the Auxiliary LED work on this controller? I have it on my DJI RC N1 but not on my DJI RC
Good question, I don’t own this controller anymore so I can’t check. Can anyone help us?
What can be output through the HDMI PORT? Is it exactly what you see on the screen or just raw video
Yes, you can do it all on the RC Pro. I have a friend that edits and uploads directly from the RC Pro.
Hi Dan, I have a Mavic 3. I am unable to setup the zoom function on the right dial. It is setup to ZOOM IN/OUT but nothing happens. Any suggestions? Awesome Vid BTW!!!
Make sure that the firmware is updated, make sure that you are in a mode that allows the zoom feature and try again?
Thank you! Customized buttons, yeah, great if you actually know how to do it. This is the first place I found that actually tells you how to do it, geez. I don't know if I would ever use it, but I assume that to use downloaded apps (like games, streaming, etc) you would need to be connected to a WiFi?
Yes, that is correct. You would need to hotspot to your phone or wifi network. Thanks for watching 👀
thank you for the vid… but not a chance in hell any kid gonna touch my rc pro😁
😂 I love this comment. Thanks for watching 👀
I KNOW. I had written a LONG rant to that effect..and ending up deleting it! I guess I got it out of my system..
Agreed I learned that lesson the hard way. 😓
Thanks a lot! But question though: what is the button on the top right for? I never figured it out...
It can be used as an action button for selecting menus.
Love your tips Dan. But how do you record on the memory card I've installed on the RC PRO? Thanks.
You will need to go into the settings on the DJI Fly app to select the micro sd as the primary storage option.
Thank you
No, thank you for watching 👀
Can you output via HDMI a clean video (no graphics) that can be sent to a video switcher for broadcast?
I believe so but I’ve never done it myself.
What I'd love to know is, does it have a screen mirroring / casting option?
I don’t believe so but I will look into this.
Excellent tutorial! How do you view/download videos you have recorded on the drone?
Another nice touch to the RC Pro is the Moverio BT40S glasses plug directly into the RC Pro
Through the DJI Fly app you can view them and then download them to the RC Pro. You can then view the videos/photos through the file management system on the RC Pro.
How do I change the battery Info from Celsius to Fahrenheit
You should be able to in the settings?
I didn't find anything in settings.
Maybe you can’t change it then. Unless you can change the region, which will adjust this setting?
@@DansTubeTV Perfect, thanks!
Color mode in the Display setting is missing. I just got a new RC Pro last Friday.
Weird, make sure that you have updated the controller to the latest version through the DJI Fly app.
@@DansTubeTV It is under the RC Pro settings.
Please make a video on HDMI output for live straeam on big screen...
Great idea, I’ll consider that for a future video 😁
@@DansTubeTV sure👍.. I want to know whether all the options/buttons we see in the DJI Fly app will come in the output video or can we just output the video without it? If we get an option to remove the application button in the output video, it will be a game changer.
@4:17 what if drone is in opposite direction e.g: I am sitting in car facing north and sending drone to south for footage..then what direction of antenas should I choose?
Turn your body towards the drone and then adjust the antennas as I explained in this video 😁
Wait? I'm being a bit dumb and confused here with the storage of videos and photos. Does the RC Pro record and store video and photo on its onboard MicroSD or external drive instead of the drone? or do i still need to have an MicroSD card in the Drone itself for all the recordings? Or does it do both?
It is going to record to the drones micro sd but you can save footage to the controller. I believe that the video quality drops slightly though.
@@DansTubeTV ahh yeah thats what i figured. My guess is the quality will drop down to 1080p or whatever the ratio is for the RC Pro.
Is there any way to turn off or lower the DJI RC PRO button beep sounds such as when you hit record, shutter, back button, dpad etc?
I don’t believe so, I didn’t see this option in the settings but I might be wrong. If it is an option then you’ll find it in the RC Pro settings.
I loaded the UAV Forecast app and even logged in, but it says it is an old version, and I cannot seem to upgrade.
Weird, maybe the developer has stopped supporting the app on the RC Pro.
Thank you for sharing all of these insights. They might be helpful for people considering this controller. I appreciate your comment 😁
I have been buying drones from the D1 store for 2 years now will this work in Victoria
Yes, definitely. Contact D1 directly and request the “DANSTUBE” discount. Contact them here: sales@d1store.com.au 📧
Hello, I just don't understand why my djy rc don't blink the blue light once I press the pair button...

Can I manually focus using the RC Pro controller?
You can use MF through the DJI Fly app, so yes 🙌

That sounds like a question for DJI. Try reaching out to them.
HEllo, did you know a way to cut the sound on the RC pro ?
Thanks
Cut the sound? No, I don’t know how to do that.
on my RC Pro only the right roll-wheel works when set to video, in photo mode the zoom does not work !
Any idea why ???
❤️
Very weird, I don’t know about that. It should work 🤔
Do you think the screen is durable enough on its own? Or would a screen protector be a good add on?
If you can get one then you might as well. It is extra protection! They have been designed to be durable but a screen protector is a great idea.
@@DansTubeTV Thanks
Hello
I Got the mavic 3 and rc Pro controller. If i make the mastershot i Can tap on the wand to let the program mix the video, and then i Got the option to share it on fb. But it say its not install, have to fix it 😊
I’m confused, so this is a bug maybe? Hopefully DJI will fix this soon.

How do I put open sky app onto my smart controller version 1
I do not know. I have not used the original smart controller.
Hi Dan:
On my RC Pro
the right top corner
wheel „Zoom“ works
only on / in Video mode
b u t N o t
in Photo mode.
Can you let me kindly know
what the problem is with
my RC Pro ? ❤
I wonder whether this is an oversight by DJI. Is it not possible to zoom in photo mode? I thought it was 🤔
Is it possible to adjust the aperture, shutter speed or iso with the wheels (dials) of the Zoom or camera tilt? I think one of the most important things would be to do this, instead of using the shortcuts to turn up the screen brightness and volume. Thanks!
I don’t believe you can, that would be handy! I’ll have to look into it 👀
This might have been updated since the video was published, but my new RC Pro with Air 2S defaults to holding C1 and use the zoom wheel for shutter speed, or holding C2 and use the zoom wheel for ISO - both in Pro mode of course. Air 2S obviously doesn't have adjustable aperture, so not sure if that's present for the M3 settings too👍
@@redzeppelinuk now, with the new update, we can do everything! :)
So how on earth do you get. authorization with this if it cannot connect to the net while in the field?
You would need to hotspot to your phone 😞
Do you need Wi-Fi for the video to come in on the control or is it like fpv
You can save files locally on the controller from the DJI Fly app (no Wi-Fi). You can also view files from the file explorer without Wi-Fi.
Hi Dan, my old DJI smart controller had to option to toggle the onscreen display settings on and off do you know if the RC or the RC PRO also has this option? It was a finger slide up or down to turn them on or off… when filming critical content it is important to see the whole screen. Cheers
I believe that you can do that with all of the controllers 😁
@@DansTubeTV I would be interested to know if you can say for sure that is the case
I will have to test this when I fly next.
Ok thanks
@@DansTubeTV Dan did you find out if the RC Pro has that clean screen feature of the Smart Controller …?
Cheers
Andy B.
@@DansTubeTV on the same topic of responsiveness, I have seen Tech Drone Media's video th-cam.com/video/hHU5RA6xvUU/w-d-xo.html
...explaining how to adjust the gimbal yaw & pitch speed and responsiveness for the Air2S, but he was using the RC-N1 controller. Apparently it can be adjusted separately for each of Cine, Normal and Sport modes. My RC Pro shows no "advanced gimbal settings" which he goes into under the Control menu, so I would love to know how we get these settings using the RC Pro. If you have any info on this please let me know.
@@petesig93 - that is weird. You might need to look for the gain & expo settings?
Great point, thanks for sharing.
Hi Dan there is a lot of hacks out there now how to change the controller to use FCC mode it is way better than CE mode...
Ahhh, true. Does it void your warranty though? How involved is the hack?

I don’t believe that you can. They don’t give you complete control over the programable buttons.
nice but not really worth the money.
Outside antennas: left antenna very loose, how can I fix it ?😢 Guess not.
You might have to send it in for repair? 👨🔧
over half of this video was about apps and games to load, I just wanted to know how the buttons work.. Don't need to know how to use my controler to load candy crush...
No worries. You can skip to the relevant part of the video?
Great tutorial but my kids ain’t touching my RC Pro! Seeing how they treat their stuff. No sireee!
😂 I realised that this was an out of touch comment to make 💥
can you flip one antenna down and one up?
Yeah, you can do that but it might not be worth doing.
Yes, you make a good point. I do find the RC Pro to be overpriced for what you’re getting.
@@DansTubeTV Yeh, such an easy fix, too. They just need to tweak the firmware and allow everything to be controlled by whatever we want. Like...I'd LOVE for one of the buttons to be assigned to a toggle for the colour assist.

It should be able to output 1080p.
