    Seeing this again, I like the implications for abed's cheats, basically the game lets you use NPC's however you want if you max out affection, and lets you program any children you have with them- which says a lot about what Hawthorne thought about women and children, or what he wishes they were like- considering how he treated his two known kids and their mothers.

    • @Rougarou99

    • @timothycarney9652
      @timothycarney9652 4 ปีที่แล้ว +89

      @Imaru Lewis Considering how old he was when he died I think he had a ton of time to have his people work on it- look up how long Dwarf Fortress' creator has been working on it, and thats just one guy- but the development cycle for this game must be a story in and of itself, hiring people who would keep it quiet, and not leak it to pierce and people who could stand how racist it was- imagine a small cast of miserable programmers stuck in a contract to have it ready for after Hawthorne dies, and stalling so they don't have to work on another super racist level, but Hawthorne keeps breathing down their necks to make sure various features, like the thing with the women and children are included. The only bearable thing about it would be Gilbert being put in charge of managing the project rather than Hawthorne directly, he was an okay guy when not gunning for the inheritance.

    • @SXJAYSX

      I think it's less about that and more about how coding and computing works.
      Abed was able to merge his human romantic mind to his more computer like brain.
      What he was explaining with the kids was basic coding.

It is more likely that the show "got killed" because NBC didn't want to keep being produced due to low viewership (only to be saved by its very loyal fanbase) as people could not appreciate it's greatness at the time due to the lack of streaming services. A movie is more plausible now too, as it is on netflix.

      It's a bit complicated to explain in a TH-cam comment, so I suggested you Google '3/5ths compromise'. Basically speakinhg, it was a compromise between not recognising black people as people and recognising them as people - by making a black person count as 3/5s of a person. So on the census, 5 black people were counted as 3. Since the census is used to allocate resources and decide the size of things like schools and hospitals, you can imagine the effect this had, but like I said there's much more to it than I can put in a TH-cam comment.

    If you look closely Abed is constantly protecting hilda. A NPC character with no meaning and no other purpose than to aid the players in their quest. While "normal folks" like shirley and annie has no remorse for any of the NPC characters they killed cause they're not real people.
    Abed is different, he decides to stay and protects this NPC character in the virtual world from hilberts attacks now that he know that NPC characters can die from the actions of the players and because of that hilda begins to feel more human in our eyes. Almost wishing she was real for abed to be happy in the real world.
    This scene shows genuine kindness because to abed it didn't matter if hilda was real or not. To him, hilda was real and all the actions in the game shows that love.

    For those who don't know. Adding the ability for players to add custom script into games is HORRIFYING and generally not recommended. New World ran into this situation with their chat function, allowing players to post links to sites and images directly into chat with no way of blocking it. In PVP you could essentially flash bomb another player by putting the script in general chat and fill it entirely with white images. Now we have seen similar custom codes allowed in games like Minecraft, VRchat, Roblox and many more in which it did work.... but there is a fine line. Luckily we have Abed who respects the players rather than exploiting the system for personal or monetary gain.

      Jeffrey Keathley why would I even listen to you? A lot of fans want the movie. Others don’t. If they decide to make a movie, they’ll do it. If they don’t, six seasons and a movie will still live on.
      Edit: i mean why would they put it on netflix AGAIN when it’s already on hulu? To test the number of viewers that COULD help push the movie? And then suddenly this youtube channel popped up. So idk, maybe more people would want the #andamovie to happen

      I wonder what a hypothetical Community movie would be like. I'd hope Donald Glover and Keith David came back (also the person who replaced Pierce. He was a retired cop and had aspirations of drawing ducks for his book). It'd be like a getting the band back together type movie. Troy goes to where all his friends are at the moment and the only person who's life is crap is maybe Chang. Then they all make a promise to meet up once a year.
