Gotta be honest - really thought I would be rolling my eyes at this, but the edit is solid. It's not just a better ending than Capcom did, but a pretty good ending overall. Well done. But the fact Guile and Charlie said exactly nothing to each other in their highly-anticipated, emotionally charged reunion? That's absolutely, hands down, the single most accurate portrayal of US military special forces dudes that Capcom has ever done. Those guys are wound tighter than a yoyo master in a lathe factory.
Thanks! I really appreciate it! 🤣Haha, I've known military dudes but never special forces. How is it different? Maybe Capcom was ACCIDENTALLY right this time lol.
Finally somebody said it. What was even the point of bringing Charlie back in this story if he wasn't going to beat the main baddie? No offense to Ryu, I love him, but it should've been Charlie. He was wasted.
FACTS; SFV WASTED SO MUCH STORY POTENTIAL NECALLI IS A REPRESENTATION OF THAT COOL ASF DESIGN BUT COMPLETELY USELESS STORY. SFV BIGGEST FAIL IS THE WRITING.
I see more Rashid as the Main Character of SFV and Necalli as Main Villain, since SFV are their debut, but SFV is just overall a unmitigated mess where nothing works really, there are some Good Ideas and even Characters but with the addition of Abigail and Luke it's all a mess.. as for SF6.. it looks better than SFV but there is still Luke in there.. and this time Luke stole Sean's Move, which really pisses me off
Rashid is the character that moves the plot, and I think it may have been their intention for him to be the main. It was poorly executed however... Same thing with Alex. The game starts with Nash as the pov character, and much was made of his inclusion in the promo material storywise. This marks the end of the Shadaloo saga, which is mostly driven by Guile and Chun. So Nash, being a very important part of those two's story, and returning for just one game would leave me to believe that he has a good amount of importance. You can even get meta with it and talk about how a theme explored in SFV was moving forward onto new things, and making peace with the past (like Ryu and the reoccurring plot device of the Satsui no Hadou). Even the music in the end turns from Ryu's classic theme to his 3s stage music. But Nash is almost like man frozen in time, like how he mentioned that everyone is getting stronger but he's trapped at his current potential. So Nash, being all the way back from the Alpha series (and dead), chooses to move on from his past and martyr himself to end the saga so that the series can move forward. How could he not be the "main" character?! Necali though...He definitely was made to seem like the main villain but in reality he doesn't matter at all. Shows up randomly and jobs to everyone he fights. Was supposedly a part of Bison's "plan." Apparently there is some kind of prophecy about him that he shows up in a great crisis...But for what? I also had thought he was the main villain especially since he shows up in the opening scene with Nash. It thought it was a really good idea to make him some kind of "boogeyman" that was awakened since Nash is a "great warrior" that shouldn't be alive. Necali as a reoccurring pursuant for Nash's soul was a VERY underdeveloped part of the story. I think they actually forgot about it...SFV is a mess yep...
