you have to go from Delhi to Kathgodham which will take 6-7 hours by car . There is a train also and kathgodham is the last railway station . Near the station , you have one Udupi hotel to have south indian food before starting to climb the himalayan range towards Almora, which will take three hours . you have Ramkrishna Ashram to stay besides numerous hotels including government owned GMVN. Patal Bhuvaneshwar is 5 hours by car from Almora . There are two routes and you can go via Jageshwar a wonderful place with a thousand years old wonderful Shivan temple. You have the jyothir lingam and mruthyunjaya lingam in one place with a 760 years old pine tree which is also a wonder . The timings are from 8 am to 5.30 pm at Patal Bhuvaneshwar . Since the cave is under the control of the Archaeological survey of India, the timings are important. Since you have to go through the opening for 60 feet down , it may be difficult for old people . Since puja is not done regularly as it is not a regular temple you have to arrange a puja if you want . if anyone wants details please contact me at krc@kedarventures.com as I have gone there several times , recently in June 2017 . Since it is in Kumaon hills you have KMVn , govt owned accomodation to stay with four rooms and a dorm with 8 beds . you have some resorts and an accomodation provided by the Sathya Sai trust .

Take bus to Haldwani then to Almora in jeeb thenNainital to Jeep then get bus to patal buvaneswar get down there from that village u get jeep for 8 km to reach this temple .... everything' is UTTARAKHAND .. one of the beautiful places to visit but cave timing is morning 11 to 5pm..
