Devil Jin VA in Tekken 5 is the greatest. The way he laughed in that game, as a child, it scared me. I remember the first time I encountered Devil Jin in Tekken 5, it was midnight (no light turned on) and me and my sister were playing characters to see their ending story. When Devil Jin laughed, I still remember it.... we looked at each other slowly and turned off PS2 right away. 😂😂😂
My uncle is the one who got me into gaming. His favorite character at the time was Jin and he even got the same tattoo on his arm. I never really got into fighting games but I very much enjoy watching people play them.
I love Tekken 8 jin all around, he's been evolved into this really cool design that's no longer the same, but is still jin. His angel design is a 10/10 for me, simply because it looks like he's wearing Cloth armor like he's in the saint seiya series, it's simply ridiculous and cool. Jin is also my fave fighting game character of all time, I owned both Tekken 2 and 3, but 3 was the first one I put into my PS1. So, tekken 3 was my first fighting game ever and my 4 year old self fell in love with the cool flames and edgy "demon inside" thing he had going on with his devil form. Jin is just really cool.
It’s Crazy how Far this Character went is Fascinating that I can see why he’s the Main Character in this Franchise, Jin Kazama is a Peak Example that Next Generation Characters can Work and back then it felt like a Gamble that Surprisingly Worked, while 6 made a Controversial Choice, I will admit he has some of the Best Designs in the Series and 8 Improved and Cemented how the Character should look to Me with the Light Grey, Black, and Wine Red as it symbolizes his Journey of Facing his Demons and coming out or the Light and the Same goes to Devil Jin, personally I didn’t like it but now with Tekken 8 he’s the Best he ever Looked and Use in the Story.
I didn't get into Tekken before T5, yet the image of Jin in the hoodie on T4's boxart made such a strong impression on me from all the time spent on wistfully oogling games for consoles that my poor family couldn't afford. The blue-on-white with gold accents is a bold choice, yet it still looks effortlessly cool. They had to do something striking for a character who were known for wearing flame-embroidered clothing, so I admire how well both costumes managed to carry that loud late-90s aesthetic without aging badly. Jin's other primary looks in T4 and 5, which retained the flame motif while adopting a subdued black and white aesthetic does fit Jin's reserved persona more, but they also lack the eye-catching style that his traditional look and hoodie had. Luckily, T8's alt came along and offered up the perfect blend by using the white-on-black design as the base and then adding layers of red on top of that to create a complex and vibrant pattern that looks right out of an old Japanese painting. I still prefer the hoodie, but I also love just letting my eyes wander while taking in all of the subtle linework of his T8 alt. My first order of business in any Tekken game that doesn't have the hoodie is to head into the character creator and paint the closest approximation of the fit that Jin has in that game with those same colors.
The thing i really love about tekken 5 jin costume design that replacing the red flame with white flames it's not just resembles his mother color it's also resembles the purity is burning away the impurity inside him.
Given his absence now & the fact you did Jin & Kaz I feel Heihachi should be next even if ya might blownthru it it'd be nice to see the old man thru out the years in his iconic designs cuz he's had some real bangers too
I will always love his Tekken 3 look, but goddamn the 8 one just sticks with me. I don’t really understand why I like it so much since I’m not much of a fashion person, but he just looks really cool in that getup.
Jin might be one of the best visually designed fighting game character purely off the fact his costumed reflect his story way more than just about any character I can think of.
This is the earliest i have ever been to one of Max's Videos, I started watching you early 2023 and LOVE your content dude, You fully got me into fighting games and i am LOVING tekken 8 rn, Keep up the great content!
Jin's "Swap Costume" in SFxTK is a reference to Crimson Viper. Which, y'know, it's cool, her costume does fit if you wanna give Jin like a "Business" look... but man that just made me want C. Viper in the game, I really wanted to make a team with her and Nina. Team MILF lol
T4 Jin will always have my fave design The white and black pants with the white and black top with the symbol on the back, plut the kazama symbol gauntlets. It's so good I esp love those pants with how it's pure white on one side and black on the flame side with the flames being white really showing a duality in the design much like his story with the Mishima vs the Kazama legacy It's my fave design by far
I like how Jin has some artistic designs in the Tekken. The way they look almost represents his personality and where he's from and we supposed to be in the series. That's my opinion and how I see Jin's outfits.❤
Tekken 3 was the first fighting game I played that I loved, my dad gave me the PS1 in christmas and Tekken 3, probably the best memories I have, and to this day I still hope for a Mokujin in recent tekken or Gon, and the same design of Yoshimitsu.

My brother and i used to play tekken 5 with all characters, we would even play mokujin mirror matches to have it random every round, but the character that i would always choose to play were devil jin, eddy, and hwoarang. @@RatchildUKYour point? Kazuya wasn't in PlayStation All Stars and was completely absent in Tekken 3. Heihachi was in PS All Stars and was originally going to be the Tekken rep in Smash. Does that make him the face of Tekken?
Because most people still think about heihachi & kazuya first when they hear the word tekken. Jin is there in the long run to take the poster boy title but in the mind of most ppl he is still behind those other 2
I like how Jin told a story through his costumes Tekken 3: a kid just getting out of school and into his family legacy while also having a biker hobby Tekken 4: a revenant cursed by his past, someone who died and is ashamed of the corpse he turned into. Covering himself in hoods and baggy clothes to conceal his shame Tekken 5: a man who was reborn and inspired by his mother to continue his life and start a new journey to take down those who wronged him Tekken 6 and Tag tournament 2: slowly turning into his corrupted father through rage and violence, conducting literal warfare and world domination just to seek revenge. Tekken 8: a flame reignited, Jin is truly ready to put an end to all of this madness, this evil that’d be infecting his family for generations and to hopefully lead a brand new generation of peace and quiet And then there’s Devil Jin who is literally a shitpost
Tekken 3 Jin is my favorite design for him. Closely followed by the updated version of it in Tekken 8. That being said, Angel Jin gives me vibes of the last phase for Kefka in Final Fantasy VI.
Tekken 3 and following that, Jin, was my first gaming obsession after Nintendo in my younger years. I'm still a die hard Zelda fan first, Final Fantasy second and Metroid 3rd, but alongside those since the genres are so different, is Tekken. 20 years ago I was nearing my 18th birthday and was dead set on getting a tattoo. I knew it would be gaming related since that's my biggest passion, but I wanted something generic enough that it wouldn't scream "Neeeeeerd" when someone saw it (early 00s, the stigma was real), but easily recognizable by other gamers. So obvious choice fell on Jin's bicep tribal. It's still my only tattoo and don't regret it for a second.
you missed the tekken 6 trailer and the tekken 7 ending costume witch is just a black biker jacket and some mix of jin tekken 3 gloves and biker gloves wich is pretty cool
Jin has always been the most cool characters that has ever been in tekken games. from his kazama style costume all the way to the mishima corporate costume. And of course the hoodie gym costume. Like all of his costumes gave him all the boost personality in all of his legacy of tekken games. from the 3d asthethics to unreal engine. That is such a visual history man.
11:22 Jin went to Demobaza and spent some of that Mishima money because MAN! Seriously, if you haven't seen Demobaza, go check it out. Most expensive weird gear you can find! But hey, Beyonce wore it, so it's cool, maybe?
Love Jin but maybe I'm the only one who was hyped for Devil Jin since it was teased since Tekken 3. I liked that the Devil form was a twist on his Mishima Style fighting too.
I will say, I wish the gauntlets Tekken 8 Jin has, if they had the swirl design from 4's gauntlets be the design for the forearms, I feel like that would be a perfect take for Jin in the next game. For a bit when I saw 8's default I thought that's what WAS going on, but then I got sad when I realized that wasn't the case.
11:20 covering things up on him with that Alt would defeat the purpose of the outfit because it's supposed to be what he had on when he was stranded in the desert. The raggedy hobo look fits that situation well.
There is something so entertaining about Max seeing questionable alts of his favourite designed and playing characters and exclaiming "WHAT IN THE DUMB SHIT!?" Jin is such a wild card. Some of his devil designs are very Power Rangers-esque, which can work, but is easy to make look a tad plastic. His hoodie redesign is actually one of my favourite fighting game aesthetics. I know SFV tried it with Ed, but Jin made it ICONIC and it flows so perfectly! Also... FLAMES.
The only thing that bothers me about the updated classic look in Tekken 8 is that the part of Jin’s gloves with two silver spheres it skipped over completely. Usually it’s supposed to be 11 of them, but it’s only 9 per hand. I know, it’s a minor nitpick. But it’s otherwise an amazing design. If anything, I’m surprised you didn’t mention the unlockable classic skin for T8 Jin that can be found in the customization menu. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if Jin was in the running for inclusion in the next Smash game since Tekken 8 did more work to consolidate regular & Devil Jin in addition to how important Tekken is to Bandai Namco. That said, Dark Souls is probably next in line for playable Bamco representation.
The most perfectly timed vid ever Whatever happens, I Think TK4 Jin is almost level with the main one. I actually mean his karate suit and not the tracksuit Maybe the reason they included the tracksuit in TK7 is because they didn’t know that many weee asking for the other For them to do something so random and different but have it work perfectly I used to be so mad his main suit wasn’t in the game but now I live loading this up just to see the design His face also looks so different to TK5. In TK5 he looked plain and Caucasian but this here is just perfect Not much muscle definition but actually had a Japanese skin tone and looked like someone bulking and training
I remember when i was 5-7 years old and lived in Asia at that time. I just remember when i was in the mall with my lil brother we saw someone playing PS1 in a PS shop and me and my brother literally like Jin Kazamas outfit and liked how he looked everything about this character then 3 weeks later we got a PS1 console and we fucking played Tekken 3 and i loved it. Tekken is my favorite fighting game of all time the characters is likable 😊
I was never a fan of his T7 outfit but his default look in Tekken 8? This is not only sick but it feels like an evolution of the character going from outright hating his bloodline, wanting to escape it to coming to terms with it, making peace with his demonic heritage, and stopping Kazuya’s ambitions. Not by killing him but stopping him. And his karate bottoms I really like the visual design of it, like it’s an evolution of his T3 design, really pushing the character forward.
My favorite thing about Angel Jin's armor is the fact that he's almost completely covered except for his abs. It's insanely impractical, but it's funny.
I see the T8 Jin design more of a devil jin reference from the jacket having the black wings on it and some red too to show that Jin has finally accepted and has control over the devil gene. And the T8 devil jin design being more reminiscent to T6 Jin to remind Jin of his sins that he committed in T6 aka starting ww3
I so so so badly want them to make costume dlc for 8. Especially for Telken 4, Jin's hooded jacket and Nina's pink jumpsuit are some of my favorite designs in the series.
I really dig Devil Jin’s Tekken 8 design. He’s no longer an edgy angsty raging guy and is now a sadistic asshole, and the voice actor really sells it too. The jacket calls back to Tekken 6 to remind you of Jin when he was at his lowest, and he has more flying moves that make the wings feel less like an annoying accessory and more like an integral part of the character.
i think its funny Max keeps saying the Tekken8 costume is Rock Howard-ish, as al i can think is "Kyo from Maximum impact" where they changed up his normal look with the black-on-white jacket.
Never was a massive Jin fan, but I'd be lying if I said that T3 Jin's design wasn't striking. Of the few characters in that game that seared themselves into my head when I was a little kid, Jin has left one of the strongest impressions and definetely was the most memorable one for me.
My personal favorite is definitely T4 Jin with his Gi, him having his little shirt on just added a little extra flavor over his T3 costume for me. After that one it would be his TT2 Gi. I like T5 Devil Jin a lot too
Tekken 3+Tag Jin is so cool because he wears like those nylon tracksuit joggers with a rope, instead of a karate pants. They brought his color scheme back a couple of times but those were all karate pants. And I missed your comments on the evolution of his gloves. Which are my favorite element of all the outfits. I never like a Kazuya or Jin outfit that has no Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Star Platinum 10 circled gloves.
Tekken 8 and Tekken 4 are the best looks Jin has ever had. Tekken 3 may have started it all, but it's whatever to me. The thing I like about "Angel Jin" in Tekken 8 is that they actually set it up years ago with Jin's Tekken 4 ending and the single white feather you see after he flies away.
I've got to a point where I click on your new uploads just to listen to the intro and then turn off the video because the intro gets me hyped to do something else 😂
People who are too young can't understand how iconic Tekken 3 Jin is. He legit started an haircut trend worldwide, people were trying so hard to look cool with that fringe and all of us looked like idiots 😅
T4 hoody, T5 and T6 default customs has a very special place in my hard. Im a bland guy so I always pick the game protag, yet Jin always fit to my taste that's why I main him. The Black Tank top jin returns in T8

They better put his t6 costume in t8 in an update
Ah yes Jin, his edgy emo look in Tekken 3 is what sparked and started my journey with Tekken up until now, Jin is a legend
I know we're talking character design, but I love how they managed to craft a plot-valid reason for Jin and Devin Jin having different movesets.
Max gives jin's white color in Tekken 4 a 6/10, but gives the same skin in Tekken 5 a 9/10. 👏 BOI?!!
Hoodie and jacket Jin from 4 is best Jin.
I've always had a problem with how Jin's bangs looked until they finally fixed it in T8
When I started playing tekken 5(my first), love playing this character. Hoodie costume one of my favorite
Absolutely hyped for this vid! I can hear the theme song as I got the notif!
I love Jin :3
still can’t see Tekken 3 screencaps without my mind playing the intro music.
this is from more than 25 years ago
11:20 covering things up on him with that Alt would defeat the purpose of the outfit because it's supposed to be what he had on when he was stranded in the desert. The raggedy hobo look fits that situation well.
There is something so entertaining about Max seeing questionable alts of his favourite designed and playing characters and exclaiming "WHAT IN THE DUMB SHIT!?"
Jin is such a wild card.
Jin main here, and i have to say i always customize him in a Tekken 6 sort of way, like corporative style with the coats, makes him look so cool.
The most perfectly timed vid ever
Whatever happens, I Think TK4 Jin is almost level with the main one. I actually mean his karate suit and not the tracksuit
Maybe the reason they included the tracksuit in TK7 is because they didn’t know that many weee asking for the other
For them to do something so random and different but have it work perfectly
I used to be so mad his main suit wasn’t in the game but now I live loading this up just to see the design
His face also looks so different to TK5. In TK5 he looked plain and Caucasian but this here is just perfect
Not much muscle definition but actually had a Japanese skin tone and looked like someone bulking and training
His Tekken 4 design is the best imo.
My favorite thing about Angel Jin's armor is the fact that he's almost completely covered except for his abs. It's insanely impractical, but it's funny.
Jun was my first Tekken main in T2. I played that T2 demo and T2 like mad at age 10.Age 13, T3 was a top 5 bday present. Man Im old....
Tekken 8 Devil Jin looks great because they went with with a more "elegant" take on his demonic persona, almost Dracula-like.
The jacket calls back to Tekken 6 to remind you of Jin when he was at his lowest, and he has more flying moves that make the wings feel less like an annoying accessory and more like an integral part of the character.
i think its funny Max keeps saying the Tekken8 costume is Rock Howard-ish, as al i can think is "Kyo from Maximum impact"
where they changed up his normal look with the black-on-white jacket.
Devil Jins design is so fire, max ur trippin. And how is edgy given a bad connotation for devil jin but you use it in a good way for Jins T3 look.
Angel always been around ❤
Never was a massive Jin fan, but I'd be lying if I said that T3 Jin's design wasn't striking. Of the few characters in that game that seared themselves into my head when I was a little kid, Jin has left one of the strongest impressions and definetely was the most memorable one for me.
17:22 I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks he looks a lot like the Warrior of Light
My 1st main in Tekken series!
PS: The gloves from TK4 & 5 was the coolest design, love the wind logo
If daddy issues had daddy issues with an identity crisis. The sequel.
Should have talked about how he's gradually begun to look more and more like his dad since Tekken 5.
I've got to a point where I click on your new uploads just to listen to the intro and then turn off the video because the intro gets me hyped to do something else 😂
Tekken 8 jin with the black and white wings was the best version of him. They only gave us like 2 mins of him and he was gone.
How is he a 10 but Kazuya is a 6? Does wearing black pants and having bangs make that much of a differnce lol.
