    So if for some reason you need to raise it up like if your car breaks down and a tow truck is with the air suspense. Can you still raise it up and if so, how many inches?

    Thanks for this, I just got a Sport Turismo GTS and ordered the Airmatic links but havent installed them yet. did you have to remove the wheels to do it or just access it from under the car?

    • @HQGARAGE
      @HQGARAGE  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We did it from under the car in the back and above the tire in the front. You just have to lift the car up a bit to get under it but super simple to do

    Looks great! Curious if those rubber grommets were put on backwards? If they are included to help keep debris out of the joint then shouldn’t the bigger side face the ball of the link?

    Thanks for this man! Looks good! There are no videos and I’m about to do this on a Panamera tomorrow. I knew it was pretty simple compared to the airlift suspension I put on my lexus.

    Hi do you have the length of the original links. I am making my own and only have a limited amount of time on the ramps at my local garage. I have stainless steel threaded bar and end links. I need to cut them roughly to size 1st.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      I don’t happen to have the measurements anymore, we wrote them on a piece of cardboard but never kept them.

    • @HQGARAGE

      I will however ask the owner if he has the original ones still and see if he can get me the measurements

      @@HQGARAGE for the fronts did you do 5mm longer or 10mm and for the rear 5mm shorter or 10mm? I believe max would be to lengthen and shortening the links by 10mm

      Yup it should be the same with any factory air suspension.

    I'm hoping you can help me troubleshoot this issue. I installed the front links first and everything seemed fine. I then went on to install the rear links.
    After installation, the airmatic system keeps calling for the car to lower. The car lowered until it seems the rears were completely deflated and the fronts wouldn't move.
    I tried readjusting the links but there was no change. The adjustment made was 5mm each. One set longe the other set shorter per instructions.
    Thinking maybe this just doesn't work for my vehicle, (2008 GL450) I decided to reinstall the original links. To my dismay, this problem persists. The rear bags will not inflate. I deflated the entire system by releasing one of the air lines on the front.
    After the vehicle became level through this process, I restarted the vehicle hoping the entire system would inflate. However, only the front bags would inflate. I tried pressing the raise vehicle button on the console which raised the front up even higher and the rears stayed the same.
    Now the front of the vehicle is at its highest position and won't come down and the rears do not operate. This is with the factory links installed. Previous to installing the lowering links, there was no issue with the system. I'm devastated because if to fix will cost thousands of dollars I'm done with the vehicle.
    Any advice would be helpful.

      Hey, thank you for reaching out. When installing the links did a wire or the plugs for the height sensors come unplugged or did the height sensor arms get positioned backwards when installing the arms?
      It’s odd that it is the entire rear of the car which makes me believe there is most likely a simple solution in the rear.

    • @saintjohn316TV
      @saintjohn316TV 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HQGARAGE I don’t think anything became unplugged. It seemed like a pretty smooth removal and install. My scanner shows voltage at the sensors but they are different from the front voltage. I don’t know what the voltage is supposed be however.

    • @HQGARAGE
      @HQGARAGE  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could you pull the links off the rear and move the arm to see if the voltages change?

    • @saintjohn316TV
      @saintjohn316TV 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@HQGARAGE I could try to confirm the rear sensors that but I’m confused as to why the front would raise up and stay raised. It won’t come to normal height.

    • @HQGARAGE
      @HQGARAGE  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My guess would be because it’s trying to level its self. I have been reading through google and found a few other people with similar issues and it was the level sensors.

  • @jagplaha9959
    @jagplaha9959 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Yo....your grommets are on backwards. The larger opening is supposed to seal against the new link. Not everybody should be making tutorial videos if they just winging it...
