I love seeing your creative thought process and cool and unique building techniques. For the core instead of using those 3x6 half round plates with a 1x2 cutout (18646) you could use cylinder half 3x6x6 with 1x2 cutout (87926). But that might not give enough friction to keep the wings in place. I wish you a Happy New Year and can't wait to see what 2023 will bring us!
Thank you Daan!! Happy new year to you too! Im experimenting with the cylinder piece too, in order to reduce the part count even further, but it’s tricky integrating it so far!
I've recently fallen in love with fallen order and the stinger mantis is now my favourite star wars ship ever. And to see the build you made 🤌🤌🤌. Happy new year
i cant wait for the release of the updated instructions! I really want to build a Lego Mantis after playing the game and this is the best model out there!
Phenomenal techniques! I really enjoy your channel but I am worried about tension once you start putting weight on it. Especially the large fin. Looks great and I wish you luck my friend!
Great building techniques and video, thanks for the hard work! As a side note, I discovered your channel few days ago while looking for tweaks to the BD-1 model, then discovered your original Mantis design and fell in love with it. I was already wondering whether to go on and build it myself, but after these upcoming fantastic design updates, I really have to!
If you haven't already, you should check out the barrel rotation from the old Mandalorian starfighter (not sure if it is different on the new one) it gives a very similar movement with a very very simple and small mechanism.
I bought the instructions for the OG moc but I’m not sure I made a rebrickable account to verify that I did when getting the v2 instructions when they finally come out
The way I started in the hobby was buying sets I enjoyed, building them and learning from the techniques used, then taking them apart and adding them together to make new stuff. I’ve been into Lego on and off my whole life but my current collection started in about 2011, and everything I had in my childhood collection was left back in England in my childhood home.
This is the first of your designs I ever got, and it's still my favorite design. I think I only have a single knowing want for a new design and that's the back landing gear looking a bit nicer. That being said, this is already the single most commented on ship in my collection when I have friends over. "Wait, is that also in Lego? I didn't know they made that. It looks so good!"
For instance: "force it it and then it's locked in forever" illegal technique sounds like glue. That one seems illegal for a reason. 😂 Edit: I was thinking "those are only few hole to drive technic pins in that come out of the core", and then he doesn't use them at all to attach the back and front end to. 🤣
I’m blown away, I didn’t think it could be done but I’m really a fan of these rotating cylinders! Can’t wait to see how it all unfolds.
Thanks K!! I’m hoping it works out too 😵
anything you see can somehow be translated to lego no matter how curvey to quote jurrasic world " Life, uh finds a way".
This has literally reinvented my views of lego design!! INCREDIBLE!!
Whoa! Thanks so much!!!
Lego, hire this man!
Thank you! And yes Lego, please do!

Awesome job man. Love seeing how you solved that central section!! Great job.
Thank you!!!
You are quickly becoming one of my favorite lego designers. Absolutely cannot wait to see more from this project!
Thank you so much!!!

Thanks and Happy new year!

Thanks!!!!!!
Wow… never ceased from being amazed by this ingenuity you put out! Excited to stay updated on this Stinger Mantis V.2!!!
Thanks!!!!
This is incredible, I need this set like now 😂
Absolutely amazing engineering 👏🏻
Thank you!!
This is something really cool to come back to. It's nice seeing the design process, gives me a few new strategies
Thanks!!
Just what Ive been waiting for, awesome
Thanks!!
That's a genius way of doing it!
Thank you Kasper! I hope I can pull it all together 😁
Wow such a amazing design!!
Thank you!!!
Wow neat idea for the rotating mechanism!
Thanks!!
Great video! As a huge fan of the mantis it's great to see content like this.
Thanks!!!
I can't believe I haven't thought of this, thank you I will use this technique into my own Stinger Mantis!
Awesome!! Glad I could help haha
Excellent! Can't wait for the version 2 instructions - this was going to be my next MOC build - but I will wait for the improved version!
Yay!! Thanks for the support!
for the locking mechanism, you could use a 1x1x1 2/3 bracket and a sliding tile to make a simple lock
I’m trying to envision it! It’s so hard to see things when they’re not in front of me
@@2bricks you know the 1x1 bracket with two vertical studs?
Yeah, I’m familiar!
@@2bricks think of how a lock and key slide together. The key is the tile and the lock is the u or o shaped entrapment for said tile.
Ahh, I think I see now! Thanks that’s a cool idea!
Phenomenal techniques! I really enjoy your channel but I am worried about tension once you start putting weight on it. Especially the large fin. Looks great and I wish you luck my friend!

Amazing... You inspire me! Looking forward to building lego again once i return home.
Thank you so much!!

Thanks so much!! And welcome to the channel!!!!
I'm really looking forward to the progress on this one! Happy new year my friend!
Thanks!! You too
Loved this build and really enjoyed building it! Very cool to hear your thoughts on the process and all that went into it.
Thanks!! Version 2 should be killer!!!
For sure! I'm excited to upgrade to V2!

I’m gonna give it a look, thanks!! I got the most recent one but I completely forgot the way they did that.
Amazing, in another life you could have been an engineer. Though this is far more fun!
Haha thanks - It’s definitely more fun!!
I highly recommend you checkout the instructions for the official lego orchid’s flower pot. It might give you further cylinder inspiration
Also the Saturn V would probably give ideas for the exterior shaping as well
Thanks!! Will do
Verry cool
Cheers!!
What if u built the wing similar to that of the ucs b-wing
I have to look into how they did that!! I never got that set
I bought the instructions for the OG moc but I’m not sure I made a rebrickable account to verify that I did when getting the v2 instructions when they finally come out
If that’s the case, I’ll make sure to send the instructions out personally to those unable to access the original!
Wow it looks like a particle collider lol
Hahah yeah it does a bit!
it’s hard to tell how much friction you will need without the full weight/leverage of the wings
Yeah, it’s gonna be a lot of trial and error for sure!
I wish I had that creativity talent
We all gotta start somewhere!! I’m sure if you just start making stuff you’ll surprise yourself
What kind of Lego thing should I build
Whatever you’re passionate about!! It also helps if the shapes and colors of your model align with what’s in your Lego collection of course
Should I just get random legos and build something.

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks!!
Instructions for sale?
Yes! Well, version one currently! rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-44568/2bricksofficial/stinger-mantis-fallen-order/#details
I seem to be missing episode 2 of this series. 😅

I'm now wanting to post things as the video progresses, but it's weirder to do that when it's not live probably. 😅😅
For instance: "force it it and then it's locked in forever" illegal technique sounds like glue. That one seems illegal for a reason. 😂

Haha I like this “live commenting” approach lol - glad you enjoyed the video :D
Early gang
Wooo!!
Day 6 of asking wheres the falcon instructions😢😭😭😭😭😭
Still working!
