I love the dance party moments so much, lol. I have no idea what the future holds for this take on the x-men, but this is the most interested I've ever been in Juggernaut
Tiffany and Ben having an dance party and then Ethan walks in like the dean. Every one is serious and then Ethan breaks into a dance too.
i really liked mackay's first x-men issue. this feels very much like bendis era of uncanny x-men. which the fact that the bendis x-men era started after the fall of utopia, reflects what is happening right now with the post fall of krakoa x-men. the parallels are interesting. both runs have the x-men base of operation be in a run down mutant hate building: a run down weapon x facility and the other is a run down sentinel factory. both bases are located with a lot of snow and there are 3 teammates that are used in both runs: Cyclops, Magik, Magneto. the first mission that they go on is a rescue op of new mutants being on the radar. there's a point where the "bad" guys have "captured" a mutant. in uncanny, by bendis, shield has magneto captive in the first issue and the new villains, 3k, have wolverine captive. unlike the bendis era, everyone doesn't hate cyclops.
MacKay’s always excelled at character work in his books (his Moon Knight run being the best example), so I didn’t have a lot of doubt that he’d do a great job writing the X-Men team dynamics. Beast might be my favorite character so far; having this version of Hank be actively aware of his past/future(?) self’s crimes while silently resenting himself for wasting what was meant to be a fresh start on Krakoa is a fascinating choice.
If those Absolute DC rumors are true and Ewing is doing a Green Lantern book then it might legitimately be my most anticipated thing DC has ever put out in years

for me it would be thompson on wonder woman, scott going back to writing batman and whatever jeff lemire is doing. if thompson is on wonder woman, that means i get to have two of my favorite modern comic writers writing for wonder woman. since i don't really like zdarsky batman, having scott coming back to write batman again is great - if rumors are true. at the very least i still have whoever the new writer for detective comics will be, because ram v's run is coming to a close in 3 more issues.
Guessing X-men is a classic case of too many cooks in the kitchen
Waiting for Tiffanys reaction when she sees how hard the Nic Klein artwork goes in the Hulk series. Great book.

Tiffany definitely needs to read Al Ewing’s immortal hulk if she’s liking what Johnson is doing on his current hulk run, which is a solid follow up.
I would love to hear about what Tiffany thinks about the earlier issues of this Hulk run. I absolutely loved the first couple of volume and the art was absolutely for me. Perfect read for Halloween.
Also, Dawn Runner is great! Love the art especially.
It's fantastic. It is noticeable when Klein isn't on the book though. Not bad mind you, just noticeable
The rumor is that Kelly Thompson is going to write the Absolute Wonder Woman title and honestly, I'm here for it
if the rumor were to be true, her run will be 100% different to what king is doing. the structure to her run will be very much different to how king structured his run. if the stuff i've read from kelly thompson are anything to go by, you would have diana's internal monologue and less of the monologue coming from the villain talking about the character to another character. having kelly thompson run on the character would be a good/great alternative, if you don't like what king is doing. even if, i think the hate for king's wonder woman is head scratching. again if he rumor is to be true, then i get to have two of my favorite modern comic writers writing for wonder woman.
I'm here for literally anything she writes. She is absolutely spectacular.
I love it when Sal goes off a terrible comic, especially when it's terrible partially from corporate meddling.
Very excited about Tiffany hosting the next backissues. I’m hoping it’s Spine-tingling Spider-man or maybe that will happen in October
I loved Ultimates issue 2. This great story on what is America and how it all played out with Midas was so great. Just really good storytelling that made everything so worthwhile and interesting. Can’t wait for more, could become my favourite Ultimate Universe book

I think Leonard Sampson in Marvel actually didn't get demonized as a psychiatrist in the 90s. Honestly not sure about him in the 80s

A day later. I've seen the tweet and...well.. new 52 wonder woman was my first comic series I ever bought so it tickles me in my soul

Why does sal always focus on the color part for manga like therre are colored mangas and likewise american comics have black and white/ pen and ink copies. Usually a different person does the color for american comics. I dont think an artist draws something without thinking what the colors would be im not an artist tho so dont quote me on the last part.

that's abit extreme. i think FF by north, hulk by PKJ, and daredevil by ahmed are better than the new ultimates and ultimate x-men right now - even though i really like those two runs a lot. i think it's abit presumptuous to make that call right now.
also why does the new absolute Dc going to suck, just because the writers aren't 100% the same as the new ultimate universe?
Pretty sure that the current writer of the new Ultimates book (Deniz Camp) is going to be on the writing team for Absolute DC, so it looks like your wish came true!

@@owenharrison761 i stopped reading that, because i had so many other books that i wanted to read. from where i stopped at, it was a really good run.
Deniz Camp seems to be one of the writers, AKA the guy doing the new Ultimates run. So that's literally a member of the new Ultimate Universe imprint team. There's also Al Ewing, who is generally regarded quite positively, including as one of the better writers in Krakoa after Hickman left. It's not Hickman, but it's certainly up there. Kelly Thompson is also someone I hear nothing but good things about. Like, it's not the same set of creatives (save for Camp), but it's a lot of creatives who are well received.
That doesn't mean it *will* be good, but like... I don't think the new Ultimate Universe line has an obviously better line-up for creatives.
