Hello, I am working with the break beat bible for several weeks now and I love it. I started to combine the beats (and the 8 bar phrases) with the Rumba clave and they sound pretty groovy together, yeah! So exited for the next chapters... 👍
Hey Mike! I just bought your book, and it's freakin' EPIC!!! I'm kind of a Prog/ Metal Player, but I was getting kind of bored with the lack of the evolution of beats within the Wacken Community. Sure, there are some cool Prog Bands out there, just dripping with Time Permutation, but that stuff doesn't make you GROOVE, y'know? I'm taking your Breakbeats, and incorporating some of your principles into some Prog kind of music, to make it groove more, so it isn't just music for Berklee students. I'm doin' the ghost notes, plus the kick on 3 16ths part, and adding my own sauce with random hi hat accents. Those are some seriously cool concepts you did in that book, dude!!!!!!! Kudos to you!!!!!!
Started learning drums this year. Your book is the first own drumbook i bought and it is unbeliveble good! I love Hip Hop and Funk and this book realy is a bible for these gengres. Big up and all the best from Germany
