”You’re weak, just like the rest of your people. They did not deserve to exist in this world. In my world!” Is exactly why I stand Aang not wanting to kill Ozai. He’s the last of his people and he needed to prove that what his people stood for, what they died for, mattered. That valuing life isn’t a weakness, and disregarding it is not strength🔥
Ye, cause in a sense, both Aang and Ozai have the same mindset or a mindset they think they want. They both want to get rid of something they deem not worth living. Ozai wanted to rid the world of those he deems not worthy of living in the world, and Aang has to get rid Ozai from the world because he's causing chaos. If Aang kills Ozai, it would just be another cycle of "killing someone not worthy of living" the mindset that the Air Nomads believe is not right. Aang must stop that chain and prove that's that not the only thing that matters in the world.
8:50 Now you gotta realize how much the comet amps Firebenders. The wall of Ba Sing Se literally the strongest wall that protected them for a century was destroyed by a fireball during the comet. And with Ozai completely burning all that land just wow
These last two episodes are really tragic for Azula’s character. She’s a product of a broken family and her only guide is someone who’s a terrible person bent on ending every other nation and is physically and emotionally abusive to his family and others around him. She didn’t have an Uncle Iroh to show her the way, she had him.
She spent several years just trying to live with the knowledge that her dad planned to kill her brother. Just imagine trying to accomplish things knowing that you're own father could decide to kill you at any time if you were inconvenient
The power hasn't gone to her head, she's paranoid that everybody is going to leave her the same way that Tyli and May did., after they betrayed her she started slipping because she created friendships out of fear not loyalty and trust and love so they turned on her because may love Zuko and May entirely a closer which you saw in the beach episode, there was a lot of foreshadowing for this, first in the beach episode when the two of them had like this protection over each other when Azula said some nasty things at both of them, they both snapped back and supported each other, then when May decided to help Zuko, and Azula went nuts then Tyli stepped in and remember Azula told the people to banish them and to take them somewhere where they would write, so then after that it was just her on her own and she was really upset over losing her best friends because she considered them her best friends so she was really upset and angry and she became unhinged and remember she fought Zero and said "I'm celebrating becoming an only child" like she was going straight up kill him. So yeah losing her friends made her absolutely paranoid and now it's to the point where she doesn't trust anyone in the palace she thinks that people are gonna assassinate her and kill her it's not about her being in power at all she's just completely paranoid she's become like completely insane, I mean she was already insane cause her father and grandfather and great grandfather are all unhinged, but now she's basically become unhinged in a different way, which you see later in the episode where she I don't know if it's this episode or the finale, but she smashes the glass and chopped her hair off because she sees her mum in the mirror and her mum's telling her how much she loves her and how sorry she is and obviously it's all in her head but it just shows you that her mental state is crashing and she's just completely lost it and you actually kind of feel sorry for her because her dad has damaged her the same way he damaged Zuko, but you just don't really see it as much and her mother telling her that she was a monster and like what was wrong with that girl you know she joked about it in the beach episode, but it's still was something inside of her that she was insecure about like she knew she was a monster and pretended like that didn't bother her but you can tell that in this finale those feelings were there and she was bread that way by her father, because he saw her as a little mini him and she was so talented unlike her brother that her dad fostered that and pushed her to be come in assassin and you saw it on the beach episode as well like she can't really make friends she doesn't really know how to behave other than to be a warrior and yet likeeverything is tactful everything is planned everything is thawed out everything is based on fair and on power and so losing her friends and like not understanding the meaning of like true friendship is what causes her to just descend into madness. Which truly is quite sad like her mental health is just a mess.
Aside from her mom, and her girl friends, I'm sure Zuko leaving also left a dent in her mental state. While she is a terrible sister to him, she definitely wanted to have him around. Back to the status quo, where they're together in the same environment, she can feel perfect, and Zuko be the scapegoat for anything she does wrong. She "loves" him in the same twisted way she does her friends, and shows zero hostility towards him in the episodes before the eclipse. Then imagine her reaction when she learns about his exchange with their father, and him WILLINGLY leaving their toxic family.
The Agni Kai is great because it shows that Zuko's progress and hard work matters, that he finally would've won a straight-up fight against Azula. But it also subverts your expectations and shows the advantages Azula still has over him: she's smarter and is more willing to play dirty.
21:42 As you can see here, Zuni barely re-directed the lightening, so it wouldn’t kill gun, but an injury was definitely left now, and needed to be treated quickly.
10:16 It's not just about strength, but it's deeper than that. No one cared about Azula and everyone would betray her as soon as they got the chance. She knows that no one cared for her. She was in a psychological conflict with herself and that there was no one actually on her side. Even her father was the only one who cared of her, by using her as his most powerful tool of war of course, he abandoned her, and much and all of that, while she was still fourteen years old.
Although it wasn’t shown, Ozai had also abused Azula. He had perfect expectations for her, he always praised her, & she had been using fear like him. Ursa never hated Azula. She never saw her as a monster. Because deep inside, Azula was just under pressure & turned to being fearsome to cope
Fun facts: when zuko fights azula you can see how he uses movements of other elements, just how iron taught him. Not only that, ozai looks terrified when aang redirected the lightning because the only other time he saw someone do that was zuko, after he promised he would teach the avatar everything he needs to defeat ozai. That moment is when he realizes zuko actually did that
Imagine controlling an airship, and then suddenly a 12 year old girl busts down the metal door, WEARS it, CRAWLS on the ceiling, and destroys your entire crew. That would be terrifying 😭
With how extremely important hair is in the Fire Nation culture, Azula messily cutting her hair when she's not in the right state of mind feels like self-harm.
Uh we have finally come to it- only one more episode left - I love the irony of Azula’s state of mind before she was the calculating genius who noticed every little detail while Zuku was blinded by his anger and doubt from thinking clear - but now after May and Ty Lee’s betrayal she has broken down completely and has lost her mind - yet we still have room for some humour in all of this seriousness that Sokka trick the crew of the Air ship by saying it was someone's birthday and it actually is - that’s gonna be one of the funniest jokes in the show - Aang and Ozai’s fight is well animated and choreographed - I love how Aang at least tries to reason with Ozai and make him stop even if it’s clear he is never going to do it.
Azula became MORE unbearable not because of the coronation but because of the "betrayal" of Mai and Ty Lee. Now, she feels like everyone is gonna betray her.
It's really hard to watch this reaction because you're totally missing the point of Azula's character, this is all about her descent into madness and while none of us are appraising her or you know saying she's a good person, you have to know that it's a case of her being a product of her environment, She feels neglected by first her friends and then her father and she's thinking back to her mother as well, you have to remember she's only 14 years old and un Zuko who had his mother and his uncle, she has nobody but her father who was an awful person and basically groomed her to be this elite warrior, she was a little mini prodigy in his eyes and he was all she had and then you have to remember that in the last episode the honour of her becoming the fire lord wasn't an honour it was away for her father to get rid of her so that he could carry out his plans alone she wanted to go with him and he said no I need you here, which is kind of true because there does need to be someone who rules over the fire nation, but it's more of just like a so I can get rid of you kind of thing and she's becoming incredibly paranoid because in her eyes, you have to think about it from her perspective, yes she's a little psychopath yes she's royalty yes she's an awful person, but she is also kind of a victim and you can't help feeling sorry for her and sad for her seeing her like this, because it's truly awful just how different directions can take you, she didn't have what her brother had and that's why he became a better person and she didn't, because she from the beginning was more of a psychopath because she got those treats from her dad and grandad and great grandfather, but you have to remember that just like her brother she is also through her mother a descendent of the avatar, so she also like him has both good and bad inside of her, but she wasn't shown the light and now because her whole life she was a soldier and only knew how to control people she didn't know how to talk to them which we saw in the beach episode, you can tell that she's just become paranoid first it was losing her friends then it was losing her father and she never actually dealt with losing her mother her mother thought she was a monster and she pushed all of that down but deep down inside that hurt her feeling that way and she makes jokes about it but you can tell in this episode how tragic it really is because when she throws the stuff at the mirror it's not her you know angry at her mum it's her angry at herself and you know she's upset she just can't deal with everything because she didn't have anyone to help her through it, her mother always had to be there for her brother because of the way their father treated him, so she didn't have time for Zola and Azula only had her father who again was an awful person so she became an awful person but just like Zuko all she wanted was her father's love and praise, which she only got conditionally if she was good at something, like whenever she did well he would praise her it's probably also why she had blue fire which is canonically hotter than red fire so you know she tried harder she tried to be the best she had no slippers no failures and her chopping off her hair, it's not a I don't have any serpents to do it for me, it's her always trying to be perfect and her cutting off her hair is her signifying that she's not perfect and it's her to send into madness where she's just completely lost it and you can just tell like you know cutting bangs is a sign of people often having trouble with their mental health, not always sometimes it's a style choice, but those bangs specifically the way she cut them like cutting your bangs when you're upset is very real for girls, it can be hard to kind of know if you haven't felt that way you've been through that and yeah most of us haven't been like we don't all have ironical father figures who are out to destroy the world and you know all that but when you think about it from her respective she's like only 14 or 15 at this point she's a child and she was raised this way without any praise from anyone but her father again only praised her when she did something he liked and he probably scolded her the way he scolded her brother we just never saw it, like she always had to be perfect and that obviously also had a major affect on her mental health, again nobody is like praising her or anything like that we're all just saying like it's a really sad situation and you have to be more sensitive to the fact that yeah we all know she's a horrible person but she is a product of her environment she is a victim she is just as capable of becoming a good person as her brother was but she never got that opportunity and that's what makes it really sad, especially in the second especially in the final episode where you see her just crying her eyes out all locked up, like what happened to her is truly sad and awful person or not you can't help feeling a little bit sorry for her or bad for her because it's just really awful what people like Ozi can do to their children and what children can become without that love, her and her brother are a mirrors of each other he's what someone who has been in a bad environment can become if they get love and praise from people who care about them and you know people who show them the light and she's what people raised in their awful environment can become when they are neglected and when they are pushed to be the best and when they are only praise conditionally, so while both of them were neglected, her by her mother who had to protect her brother and him by their father who only cherished a Zulu because she was good at fire bending. If she had been anything Zuko then her father would've banished her too, which is something I think a lot of people forget she was just a little prodigy which is what kept her safe if you wanna call it that. Like her being talented is what kept her from being hurt by her father until now when she saw the kind of monster he really was and obviously she's just as bad as him but you know being neglected by the one person you trusted is pretty awful like when she lost her friends her mindset was well at least I still have my father but then she lost him too and he told her you know he was gonna go off on his own and that she was basically worthless and you know obviously that's going toaffect her especially at like 14 or 15 years old.
Aang and Ozai's fight sure is cool. But Zuko vs Azula is visually , thematically beautiful. The sound design on the fight is insane. It feels tragic and sad. Compared to Aang's fight which mostly feels epic.
I'm getting the feeling Ozai let her be Firelord so easily other than reasons like to take Pheonix King role is because a lesson in what it is to be a ruler and her to see what it is to be how she is, he has to have known she would be that way because he knows the basics of ruling and to command things even if it's for evil intent.

your analysis of azula is just completely wrong its kinda baffling- reducing her to shes just crazy- is wrong considering the entire episode she’s literally going through a mental breakdown & the scene where she sees her mom- that was her own inner self telling herself what she wished her mom did- that she loves her as well but instead you somehow came to the conclusion that she didn’t wanna hear that 🤦♀️ doesn’t excuse her actions but ur also plain wrong & idk why u keep reducing her character as one dimensional ‘oh she’s crazy ig’ when she’s actually one of the most layered & complex characters in the show ..
”You’re weak, just like the rest of your people. They did not deserve to exist in this world. In my world!” Is exactly why I stand Aang not wanting to kill Ozai. He can't watch that yet, it's got major spoilers...😅😂
your analysis of azula is just completely wrong its kinda baffling- reducing her to shes just crazy- is wrong considering the entire episode she’s literally going through a mental breakdown & the scene where she sees her mom- that was her own inner self telling herself what she wished her mom did- that she loves her as well but instead you somehow came to the conclusion that she didn’t wanna hear that 🤦♀️ doesn’t excuse her actions but ur also plain wrong & idk why u keep reducing her character as one dimensional ‘oh she’s crazy ig’ when she’s actually one of the most layered & complex characters in the show ..
Unlike you, this is his first watch. He hasn't watched tons of analysis vids like you most likely have. You sound crazy
