“Don’t throw yourself around like you don’t matter.” Hell it dosent matter if someone’s gay, lesbian, straight, Bi, Trans etc. EVERY KID needs advice like that
Honestly I would love to have someone that cares about me so much as to say something like that to me because you can tell how much Burt cares about Kurt
Straight here and never got it. Asked how babies were born and the answer was “sex” and that was it. Went on internet and found fab fiction and that was my undoing and destroyed myself. Now I’m avoiding it and I’m waiting until I’m married.. if that ever happens no kid should ever have to figure things out for themselves, that’s how you end up with false information.
When Burt was first introduced, I thought he was supposed to be this horribly unsupportive and homophobic person. I could not have been more wrong. Burt is one of the best on the show!
I love how Kurt told his dad to educate himself, to sort of spite him. Then Burt does exactly that and makes Kurt eat his words lmfao best Father-Son relationship
He wasn't saying educat yourself out spite he was saying that so just case he any thing he wanted to talk about he come to his dad like any other teen can. Then Dad went above and beyond said im going to treat like a straight son have The Talk.
"Hey. You think I enjoyed it when my parents gave me the talk about the birds and the bees. Now stop being over-dramatic and listen Kurt," Burt telling his son to cut down the drama.
I love this line most of all because it's EXACTLY what a dad would say to his daughter and it makes me laugh but also shows that not all dad's encourage their sons to sleep around
I feel this maybe the best TALK that had ever happened between a parent and their gay son, wish all parents were like that with their LGBTQI son/daughter/nb person
Sheena Colbourne in my language Y, ‘Yanlış' means false. And I was like why this is false? burt is a good daddy?? and than I realized this Y is ‘Yes'. :Ddd
This is so crazy. There's a big difference between the innocent Kurt from this scene and the naughty and playful Kurt from Will and Emma's wedding. SO HOT !!!!!!
Right, this was Baby Penguin Kurt, and now we had, the two of them making out in the back of a prius, the tie grab, and of course the "I'll See You Downstairs" NYAHHHH!
Chris is hilarious 😂 And this is really sweet, I loved their relationship. Though it was hard to him, Burt really tried and it payed off. He is amazing dad and the actor is great. Good job. They make it look very real, you kinda forgot it's just acting.
My mom is a biology teacher, she and my dad whent straigth to the point: "kids, sex is this and that, you have this thing, your bro has another one. its called vagina and penis. You dont have sex whitout conscent or protection..." it was fun...
God i love his dad. I love parents who, tho it might make them uncomfortable, will have the talk because they’re more concerned about their health than whether they’re on the right side of god in it all
Several years later, this scene still plays in my head. It’s not pedantic, preachy, or overly “morally messaging.” It’s excellent writing and delivery, and just so naturally done.
Burt and Kurt have the best father-son onscreen relationship and some of the best scenes on the show, including the best scene in all six seasons, this one! Every parent dreads “the talk”, but Burt’s take on it was so.... amazing! Nailed it!
This is such amazing advice! Not just for kids but for everyone. Sooo many people who didn’t have great role models think like this “it feels good, I don’t want to stop” not thinking about what it does to our soul. I think even kissing can do this, any time you are intimate on any level, it opens you up emotionally and spiritually, it makes you vulnerable.
Father of the year! If only every dad would be that open towards their gay kids! Mine would NEVER talk about sex, but to his credit, was nothing but loving and accepting when I came out, although I know it did hurt him. My dad is your typical thought guy ex-marine, but his tears weren’t from anger, they were from worry, worry that I’d have a very difficult life because I’m gay. I came out at 16 in the mid 80’s, at the height of the AIDS epidemic. There was no internet back then, just a lot of inaccurate information based on stereotypes and lies. Dad was terrified I’d die of AIDS....but after we talked, I explained that I knew all about it, and that I understood his fears....and we hugged for an hour. He wouldn’t let me go, it was the only time I’d ever seen him cry. Luckily, both my folks are still alive, and have been my biggest supporters all throughout my life, I don’t know what I’d have done without them.
1:32 "No, it's gonna be worse because it's two guys." Burt Hummel - a straight dad - having more insight into the Gay gay community than most of the gay community themselves 👏🏼
This scene is a perfect example that it doesn't really matter what you say; it's how you say the words. It's all about being able to feel another person's vulnerability and trying to avoid hurting them. Kurt's dad is a real good and loving parent.
I literally get goosebumps through this entire scene every time. This scene needs to be shown to everyone boy or girl when having this conversation...because it all makes so much sense.
okay this is unrelated to what the scene is about but for some reason in this scene chris just looks so nice. like not that he doesnt in the other scenes- but he just looks very nice i dont know how to explain it
Tbh, I wouldn't have liked that storyline. Plenty of teens aren't into the idea of sex as early as their peers, and I think that it's important to normalize that
"it's time that we have the talk"
"No it's not."
Maria Maldonado "yes it is" "lalalalalalalalalala"
Burt: yes it is
Kurt: *sticks fingers in ears* "lalalalalalala"
I love Kurt!
Kurt is a womanizer
Ya gotta have the talk Kurt. Its gonna be awkward but it'll be the best thing for ya.
“Don’t throw yourself around like you don’t matter.”
Hell it dosent matter if someone’s gay, lesbian, straight, Bi, Trans etc. EVERY KID needs advice like that
I love Burt so much. Hes so honest about it all, both ways
EXACTLY
@@mcnoneya oooh yeah same sort of lol
When Burt was first introduced, I thought he was supposed to be this horribly unsupportive and homophobic person. I could not have been more wrong. Burt is one of the best on the show!
A lot of LGBT kids watched this show and wished for a parent like Burt.
Burt is one of the best tv parents overall IMO
The best of all tv shows ever!
I thought that too
Adso they developed his character well!
"Don't throw yourself around, like you don't matter. Cause you matter, Kurt."
He is the best dad!!
If only my dad had ever said those words to me, I would have felt like I mattered too. Beautiful scene.
*Sticks fingers in ears,* "La la la la la la la la la!"
Ali Song me when my parents gave me the talk lmao
yep
Meeee
This was literally me
same
Burt: it's time me and you have "the talk"."
Kurt: No it isn't.
Burt: Yes it is.
Kurt: *LALALALALALALALALA LALALA LAAAAAA LALA*
Cristina Renteria LOVE HIM SO MUCH😂
I LIVE FOR THIS
I rewatched that part so many times 😂
He's so cute omg
I think this is how most people react when they're about to have the talk😂
I love how Kurt told his dad to educate himself, to sort of spite him.
Then Burt does exactly that and makes Kurt eat his words
lmfao
best Father-Son relationship
Agreed
kurt: educate urself
burt: BOI WE GONNA HAVE THE TALK
He wasn't saying educat yourself out spite he was saying that so just case he any thing he wanted to talk about he come to his dad like any other teen can. Then Dad went above and beyond said im going to treat like a straight son have The Talk.
We can also thanks Blaine for suggesting that
True very true
"This is going to suck for the both of us" Kurt's face says "it will suck even more for me"
"Hey. You think I enjoyed it when my parents gave me the talk about the birds and the bees. Now stop being over-dramatic and listen Kurt," Burt telling his son to cut down the drama.
Burt doesn't want Kurt to suck.. I f you know what I mean ;)
i am sorry it had to be said more like kurt will be doing to sucking i am sorry it just was perfect
And my face is like: it's gonna be super awkward for me, too, thanks for asking
Burt should be assigned to talk to all teens about sex. Lol.
Roberto Medina inapropiet
Agreed. Also I'm your 888 like 😁
I don’t think he’d like it very much
I think he should gave taken Mrs,pillsbery 's position
@Grandmagiles2222 are u 5 💀
‘Inapropriet’
This scene always brings tears to my eyes. "Because you matter, Kurt." As an older gay man, it's validation that I never received from my own father.
@Wolfy Reddy Donald Trump matters?
@@ravenlich1299 😂😂😂
"I think your 30th birthday is great" well that totally worked out
I mean, Kurt probably DID have sex on his 30th birthday. It's just that he'd already been married for 9 years and had a child at that point.
Kaija Schmauss he would have been married for 12
Actually married for 10 because the wedding happened when they were 20.
I love this line most of all because it's EXACTLY what a dad would say to his daughter and it makes me laugh but also shows that not all dad's encourage their sons to sleep around
Hahaha toooootallly
I feel this maybe the best TALK that had ever happened between a parent and their gay son, wish all parents were like that with their LGBTQI son/daughter/nb person
What does the I stand for?
probably intersex but with the large spectrum it could mean a lot of different things.
I found so cute that in the previous episode Kurt said to his dad to "educate himself" about those those things.... And he actually did!
@J. O. as a bisexual girl I think the same
No binary is a real thing.
“He puts his fingers in his ears and starts singing.” - Blaine
*lA LA LA LA LA LA*
i can't stop staring at kurt's face. he's too cute
Kurts face through like the whole thing is priceless! Haha
"its time to have the talk"
"no its not."
i haven't laughed that hard in awhile awwwe my poor lil bean
And the award for best father of the year goes to.......
Burt Hummel
Burt's such a good father (Y)
Sheena Colbourne in my language Y, ‘Yanlış' means false. And I was like why this is false? burt is a good daddy?? and than I realized this Y is ‘Yes'. :Ddd
I agree
Even going la la la he still sounds good.
"its gonna suck for both of us"
Kurt is thinking "mostly for me"
B.M Undercover OH MY GOD
AHH I DIDN'T GET THIS UNTIL NOW 😂
Best. Dad. Ever.
This is so crazy. There's a big difference between the innocent Kurt from this scene and the naughty and playful Kurt from Will and Emma's wedding. SO HOT !!!!!!
I'LL SEE YOU DOWNSTAIRS
Guys grow up :3
bros helping bros
Right, this was Baby Penguin Kurt, and now we had, the two of them making out in the back of a prius, the tie grab, and of course the "I'll See You Downstairs" NYAHHHH!
Glee can be pretty bad at times, but it's scenes like this, beautiful and intimate and honest, that make it such a wonderful show.
The best part about Glee was that it KNEW just how bad it was, and it embraced it.
This scene displays some of the best acting I have seen in a long time... kurt and burt both did this perfectly!
OMG I SWEAR KURT WAS THE CUTEST IN SEASON 2
Dance Moms Dolphin lsn't he always?
“On your 30th birthday think of it as a great gift to your self”
Mum dad literally
“Cause you matter, Kurt” made me cry a little. He raised Kurt so well!😭
"Its time for the talk"
"No it isn't-"
Yes it is-
"LALALALALALALLALALA"
🤣🤣🤣🤣
(Sticks fingers in ears), LA LA LA LA LA!!!😂😂😂
“This is gonna suck for both of us!”
Way to make it more awkward than it already is!😂😂😂
“I think on your 30th birthday it is a great gift to yourself” 😂😂😂
Chris is hilarious 😂 And this is really sweet, I loved their relationship. Though it was hard to him, Burt really tried and it payed off. He is amazing dad and the actor is great. Good job. They make it look very real, you kinda forgot it's just acting.
Burt is the kind of parent I want to be.
This would've been great to have, this kinda talk. Hell I don't think even parents of straight people give this kinda talk.
I know right? My parents never gave me any type of talks.. :/
My parent don't even talk to me at all hahaha
My mom is a biology teacher, she and my dad whent straigth to the point: "kids, sex is this and that, you have this thing, your bro has another one. its called vagina and penis. You dont have sex whitout conscent or protection..." it was fun...
My mom just uses a quote from mean girls and adds her own ending. Don't have sex because you'll get chlamydia and die
Speak for yourself.
Thank you Burt Hummel, thank you Glee, for this conversation that I know my parents will never be able to have with me
Heart
If I was Kurt I would have ran as soon as I saw the pamphlets lmao 😭😭😭

Burt to Kurt "even though it feels like your just having fun"

Kurt to Blaine "I mean it was fun"

This support is soooooooooo good!
“Don’t throw yourself around, like you don’t matter” that hits so hard for some of us
10/10 parenting right there
God i love his dad. I love parents who, tho it might make them uncomfortable, will have the talk because they’re more concerned about their health than whether they’re on the right side of god in it all

kurt's eyebrow
YGL That always makes me die.

Damn Glee thought of everything! Such respect!
Does anyone else stare at Kurt's right eyebrow the whole scene
Naomi Griffin ME🙋
Kurt is so precious,, I love his face throughout the whole thing
la la la la la la la la la la la LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA
haha I love their relationship
kurt and his dad has the best arc on the entire show and no one can tell me otherwise

I love Burt!! He's such a great dad
I love the part when Kurt sticks his fingers in his ears and says lalalalalalala

How does kurt even sound good when he’s singing lalalalala
Beautifully said
Aww. As awkward and hilarious as this was, Burt was such a good sweet dad.
"This is gonna suck for both of us!"
I laughed when I first saw it - then I went thru it as a father - and now I'm nodding in agreement

Burt's advice to Kurt hits hard when you get older !
“it is time you and i have the talk” “no it’s not” “yes it is” “la la la la la la la LA LA LA LA LA”
Damn I got more advice from a 3 minute clip from a tv show than I did from my own parents
My poor baby Kurt xD I'm like hahaha no *runs away*
Kurt's cute when he covers his ears and does lalalalalalala.
1:32 "No, it's gonna be worse because it's two guys." Burt Hummel - a straight dad - having more insight into the Gay gay community than most of the gay community themselves 👏🏼
I'm here for the LALALALALALALALALALALAAAAAA LALALALALA! Hahahahahahahaha so funny
Burt is simple the best!
My love for this relationship is still here. I love these two and this scene is amazing.
Kurt had me laughing when Burt suggested they have the talk and he is like “No it’s not”
“When you’re 30 it would be a great gift to yourself”
kurt's face would be me if someone has to talk to me about it
So cute, Burt, a mechanic, referring to “mechanics”!
That's the kind of talk i will give to my kids, no matter if they are straight or gay
This is the greatest "Talk" I've ever seen on a show. And also so necessary. Everybody should know they matter
This is an amazing thing for any gender or orientation.
Sometimes I feel this is therapy
Kurt: “ok”
Burt: *a bruh we ain’t done*
😂😂😂😂
Lol kurt is uncomfortable
Caspersreunite true but some people don't react that way I mean don't act like a baby 👶 la la la la
Aliya Yacoob i think it's cute
This scene is a perfect example that it doesn't really matter what you say; it's how you say the words. It's all about being able to feel another person's vulnerability and trying to avoid hurting them. Kurt's dad is a real good and loving parent.

okay this is unrelated to what the scene is about but for some reason in this scene chris just looks so nice. like not that he doesnt in the other scenes- but he just looks very nice i dont know how to explain it
"I believe it's time you and I had the talk"
"No it's not"
"Yes it is"
(covers ears) "LALALA"
That should not have been as funny as it was
Burt is an amazing father!
Glee Burt and Kurt has the talk 2x15 soo Good
If this episode aired today all of twitter would accuse burt of "slut shaming" even though what he's saying is true.
Kurt was so sex repulsed in early seasons that at one point I was so sure he was homoromantic and asexual, guess I was very wrong in my predictions
Anita XYZ that would’ve been cool
Cos society tells him he has to have straight sex
Tbh, I wouldn't have liked that storyline. Plenty of teens aren't into the idea of sex as early as their peers, and I think that it's important to normalize that
His dad is amazing
I kind of love Burt
I like how his dad talked to him like a guy
Chris he plays Kurt very well
"La la la la la"
Why was that so adorable and funny!?
that look on his face when he saw the pamphlets. never seen anyone so horrified over the sight of pamplets
Bless them both I love them 😂
