I don't know anything about Batocera, but on my OLD Core-2-Duo system, I've never had an issue running Need for Speed Rivals at higher resolutions in PPSSPP. In fact, I never turn on frame skipping. A couple games needed a couple specific tweaks to the settings, but in general, everything I've tried has run great.
Just got an Elitedesk G3 with a 7th gen i3 for like $40. It's crazy how well it works. Emulation is no problem at all. Found a matching HP monitor for like $10 at Goodwill and now have a whole HP desktop experience.
That's a really good deal but not something common, that being said, even these low tier Ryzen CPUs have much better integrated graphics than the Intel HD/UHD on laptops.
I got that one but has a Ryzen 5 Pro in it. Most of the games I have played run so well! Titanfall 2, and others play really well. If you want something in terms of a budget computer for some gaming, this is a good option

I installed Batocera into an old Netbook that has a quad core Atom. I was very surprised when playing Crazy Taxi with 2x resolution perfectly. It also played Marvel vs Capcom 1 and 2 fine. Haven't tried other games, will try this weekend.
I bought a RetroStation on harddrive 4tb. Then I bought a 4tb M.2 harddrive and putted everything in there, because it was some hickups from external hdd, but now I don't got any problems at all what so ever. Works like a charm. But it was a pain in the neck getting it from external to M.2. Only took around 14 hours. Hahaha.
Nope, i had both 2200g and 2400g, they are basicly same speed, 35 watt or 65 watt it doesnt matter much, the memory bandwidh is the bottleneck for both.

Great recommendation. These have been the best value going for emulation for a while. I got mine just about a year ago. Of course, the 2400GE can be found in Lenovo and Dell machines too. I got the same HP model. Price was about the same too, though it was on sale and I did have to buy the power supply separately. It also only came with one RAM stick. These APUs really want two sticks to take advantage of dual-channel memory. I haven't tested it with emulation, but with PC games having two sticks can make an enormous difference in performance, which is worth knowing. I got my 705 G4 mostly to do PS2, and it does it very well. Plus the two-tone look is pretty snazzy. I have heard people say these things run hot, and there is a 65 watt version which definitely runs hotter. With regard to that, I'll just say that the 65 watt 2400G does come in the larger SFF class machines. While bigger than these tiny one-liter models, they are not huge. They're probably preferable with better cooling and quieter fans overall, so if anyone is looking at these and sees this, definitely look at the SFF models. Prices should be about the same too, based on the last time I looked a couple of months ago.
I have a spare barebones of that sold as defective for about €7, 50 (450 peso) ; just had to do minor repairs and it works, hoping to get the BIOS hacked with new microcode to get a 4700g working...

Good question ! I have this same kinds of specs in the storage wanted to get into it later on. At this point the i5 8e gen are great however AMD does have a strong GPU on board. But ... will the 8e gen GPU be better then that AMD Ryzen thing Vega GPU ? Mmmm.. good one. I have a 7600t which is close to 8500t performance. The bog difference is a 8500t can run win11. But anyway i also have a mini pc 3400ge. The 3400ge is significantly better than the 7600t. But if you already have a 8500t, then i wouldnt pay more than 80 bucks for a 3200ge or 3400ge.
@@WickedGamerCollector don't use userbenchmark as a source, they have some sort of hatred against AMD; the 8th gen integrated graphics will in no way beat a Ryzen Vega 8; having said that, the 8500t should be good enough to emulate up to PS2; if by any chance OP has a Lenovo tiny with PCIe slot inside, an RX550 4GB or RX6400 would be an upgrade; else selling/flipping it for a newer Ryzen office PC might be an option too.
Make sure it is the right kind of series of AMD you do have some really old chips out there. Normally Ryzen is no problem. However if you have a new AMD Ryzen 7xxx or 8xxx series machine they are using system 33 or some kind. What you get is that it would boot do of not understanding what is for pc. Sometimes .. connect to an old pc and update the drive to the latest version and then plug it into your new AMD ryzen machine. Ow ... don't forget secure boot needs to be disabled. That can also make a lot of problems. Only in dual boot you need to enable it again when using Windows.
im nearing 45 years old and as much as the handhelds intrique me (didnt have them as a kid ) i learned those small screens and small units just arent for me ive got big man hands and nering 45 Y.O. my eyes arent as good as they used to be i need the larger screen and controls offered by emulation otherwise i cant enjoy handhelds
I see that you don't have it for PlayStation games, especially for systems it really matters like ps2 and ps3. It'd be useful to add otherwise it's hard to tell if the system is good for those high end systems or not just by the video alone.

Definitely possible. I play Wii games like New Super Mario Brothers, X-Men Legends 1 and 2 in the Dolphin emulator. I'm playing these on an old HP laptop that has a 5th Gen i5. Plays fine for me. Also installed RetroPie and play PS2 games fine so far
i play them and the even the switch and some xbox 360, ps3, and aaa pc (low settings) on my 2400ge no problems. But the gpu in the 2200ge is significantly slower.

GPU is vastly better with the 2200GE so all depends on what level emu you need. There are HPs with even better AMD APus for not much more.

@WickedGamerCollector PS2 is a no go. I was able to play Mario Kart double dash on GameCube. It did run a bit slower than normal but it worked.

I have tried retrobat on a pc , but had a lot of problems scraping images. I may try buying a ready made HD.
Setup of HDD's can take up a lot of time indeed.

i have a ryzen 5 5600G and 32gb ram. with xbox emulation Fable gets ~25 fps. For good frames you need a gpu.
So this is not going to be a cheap mini pc solution 😲
