@@frankiecal3186 imagine if he joined the Mendes brothers? Oh man he would be trouble. If he just drilled the chokes in Fade to Black he would be submitting all kinds of people. That Peruvian necktie series with the back and arm waiting if the choke fails would be so cool to see him master. Also the millions of darce setups would mix right in to his game.
No he couldn’t lol stop it he got absolutely dog walked anytime he touched the ground his game plan was to not go for take downs and keep it on the feet to avoid actually grappling he’s not gonna catch up to these guys in a year or probably ever you act like he is gonna improve more than a routoulo brother in bjj your just glazing
Man you're gonna be so good once you get more comfortable at submission defense/offense. Once you have elite defense and don't care about taking dudes down because you know you can defend anything, gonna be a massive problem for everyone.
Loved the match with Kade. Having said that, Nolf had zero chance of having somebody like Levi Jones not entering deep into his leg and put the deadly twist on it.
If you look at the end of the second round literally with 2 seconds left is when Ty went for the foot lock and started cranking it as the bell was ringing. He didn't hold it for extra time,he just cranked as the bell was ringing
Nicky Rod has been doing good work initiating singles, doubles, arm drags, and more from seated guard especially as people train to hand fight and pummel against people they know are wrestlers. I'd check out the wrestling from guard instructionals Nicky Rod, Nicky Ryan and Dante Leon have put out before discounting it completely.
Hilarious how the commentators were speaking highly about Tye's wrestling. Everyone who actually knows a little bit of stand up knows Jason was dumping Tye on his head anytime he wanted
I feel like Nolf revolutionized the brutality of cradles, turks, and bow n arrows in folkstyle wrestling. I imagine he will take very well to the submission game. Honestly one of the most physical wrestlers of the 2000s if not the most physical.
You had an awesom match just wanted to see you hit a slide by to his back. Pathways to the back from the feet. I know its easier said than done but he kept going to the collar tie.
Bro look at the results bot guys who won CJI are wrestlers Kade mainly plays top game and takes opponents down and Nicky Rod is a wrestler who mainly outwrestles opponents to submissions. This guy could be a millionaire in bjj.
Nolf did awesome 👌 his match was exciting. Just imagine how far he can go in a year. If he just sticks to bjj and stops wrestling he could be a millionaire at CJI 2.
Jason brother you can’t pass the elbow on the guillotine on the ground like a front head lock on the feet. You have to control and separate the wrist from your neck first before you can think to start to pull your head in. Using your body to keep them from adjusting by piking up with shoulder pressure.
If you train 3-4 years , know to defend every offense and understand the biomechanics besides all that you can be for sure the biggest threat in this sport
The way grappling is judged makes it a *steep uphill battle to win a grappling match with wrestling...just as Nolf explained here. Submission attempts might be listed as 2nd factor in judging but they're definitely weighted most in real life
Great for the sport of bjj to have this caliber wrestler in the mix.. however, it will take him some real mat time to perfect the bjj technique.. in time, with him going all in to bjj, he’ll be a real force
Nice job, maybe Rutuolo was a little too much. Game plan was to run away since everytime you guys scrambled Rutuolo got near a submission. It may take a few years for a wrestler to adapt to submissions. Of course if it was a wrestling match Nolf would win, but it wasn't! 🍍😀🔥🥋
Imagine just a white belt doing what he did. He's gonna rise faster either in grappling or mma whatever he focuses on You can tell loves this s*** and wants to compete in it like he did wrestling
@@benkelly7182No they got the correct decision giving it to Kade. If neither opponent has an actual submission attempt whoever is pushing/dictating the pace is the winner. Which is Kade Rutolo, you clearly don’t know the rule set whatsoever
What a boring game plan. Almost as bad as those stalling guard players. Dont get me wrong, I love wrestling and the takedown game, but its submission grapling. Stalling by handfighting then catch and release takedowns shouldnt win matches.
Heck Tye put his leg in a HALF Boston 🦀 a catch wrestling move. I think he SHOULD learn BOTH bjj and catch wrestling. Tye is also trained by Erik Paulson who know catch wrestling. Or look at Laetitia Blot. When she went into MMA she trained in bjj and Luta Livre ( catch wrestling and judo). AFTER leaving judo, freestyle wrestling, and sambo ( I am talking about Laetitia Blot). Now just competed and won silver 🥈 at French national beach wrestling championship.
Nice work Nolf. Fans definitely want to see you compete in all the combat sports
Hope to see Jason compete again soon!
Having wrestlers of this caliber will level up the sport!
Looking forward to the evolution of grappling!
If this guy trains with the savages at B team he could be a millionaire by CJI 2.
Hope to see him there next year!

Good job, mate. You grappled according to your strengths and held your own for a very long time, against a world elite guy.
No doubt! Thanks for the comment!

Much respect Nolf. We are stoked you are part of the sport now 🤙🏻

Great work dude. You made a lot of new fans for sure.

Probably the most exciting match of the tournament
Did you mot watch Kade vs Andrew? This match was def 🔥 but that match was match of the tourney
Kade v Andrew was unreal!

I'm a huge Nolf fan now. Can't wait to see more from him.
Every wrestler learns something in each match...sounds like you are already making a list of things you'll do better. Get 'em Jason!
Thanks, Bill!
props for putting it out there... it was epic

Learnt of Nolf from CJI, definitely a fan of his style and story!

If you do pursue the grappling thing, I'll be rooting for you.

How do you feel about his knee going in the first round, and still being dangerous?
I hope he comes back for the next one with a year of training

You not gon be at world team trials September?
Would be great to see you again!

Nolf ought to snipe some some of the strats catch wrestling is coming up with for guys that come right out of wrestling. The cradle passes and whatnot
Let’s get some BJJ guys at Bill Farrell. See how they do
