Great vid. Thanks. Appreciate the care taken with the editing and all round production. You two come across as a couple of good blokes telling it like it is.
I own a 2011 250 EXC fantastic bike. I ride hard enduro, Motocross, Trails, the only thing I change when I change from MX to Enduro is open up the Compression front and rear by 10 clicks.
+Dirt Bike Channel hey its me the 4 stroke fan :P haha i do miss 2stroke and i have never rode the ktm 300 enduro was wondering if you rock a 2 stroke KTM for the trail why not have a 250 sx ? I myself ride mostly in trails/moutians loging roads but i used a motro cross bike more so cuz i find them more powerfull even thought they might not be "built" for that like i upgrad it with kick stand / light ect just wondering your thoughts on the KTM 250 SX vs the KTM 250 XC or the 300 XC are the KTM 250 SX not faster off the start ?
savagex466 the 250 SX engin is almost identical to the xc and exc engine. it might be a bit more rev happy and aggressive but that is mainly due to tuning.
You guys are doing a great job, brought home a brand new 2015 250 xc today because of this review. If I need more power down the road I can always add the 300 cylinder kit. I haven't seen any other video channel on you tube that even comes close, keep it up.
Great Video Gentlemen!!! Thank You very much. I feel anything that you guys do to promote 2 Stroke Motorcycles is Fantastic!!!! I will not ride a 4 Stroke! Or should I say "Own a 4 Stroke" I have ridden them and they do seem more comfortable and easier to ride. But when they go (blow up, seize, etc) they really smoke your wallet!!!! I live out here in Eastern NC. and I was at the local track with my bike (2004 KX-500) and some Marines came up to me and were commenting that they too would not own a 4 stroke.! That they like the simplicity of the 2 and especially the KTM 250. Anyways thanks again and God Bless.
2012 250xc is my first real dirt bike and 2stroke, threw on a flywheel weight, G2 throttle tamer and Gnarly pipe, fatter jetting and set the ignition map to mild and its been an amazing bike to progress on. Even while down tuned its enough to get into trouble, but otherwise has allowed me to ride faster and tackle pretty much anything the seasoned guys have shown me. And totally right about the price thing, was initially looking for a 200 or 300, but the 250 seems to be under appreciated and did come around as a steal. Tried a buddies 250xcf and can't see why it could be favored over the 2t, feels more difficult to ride slow or fast in comparison, and definitely not as fun.....2 stroke bias forever lol....
I love my 2012 250xc! I got it brand new for $6930 out the door and couldn't be happier. I just got my suspension revalved and resprung for my weight and it's absolutely amazing now. I don't see why people complain about KTM suspension, different strokes I guess.
I have a 2006 250 XC and I don’t know who would complain about the range, unless you were desert riding. I ride enduro mostly and I have never even came close to running out of fuel. Even after a full day of riding.
I own a 2011 250 xc, it has over 500 hours, and the bike its still good as new!! love the bike this year im upgrading years, but keeping the same xc 250!!
I have a 2016 250xc and it is a dream, on good trail riding in Michigan avg speed about 27mph I hit reserve at 65 miles on the stock 2.6 gal tank. just awesome!
I've only owned 4T's so far, went to the KTM 16 ride day the other month to try the 250/350 XCF, when there, the rep really wanted everyone to try their full range. Which was a great call, didn't take to the XCF as much as I thought I would, but man, did I like the 250XC, for track, think I'd stick to my R, but for trail's, when it's time to say goodbye to my X, think I'll go 2T, and the 250 over the 300, 300 was a little much. And now with the help of your video I know I can upgrade it to a 300 dead easy if I ever wanted too....sweet!
+Dean Smith Isn't that funny! You thought you were a 4 stroke man, but after testing out a 2T at a KTM ride day, your testimony of 4 strokes has been shaken :) You may become a smoker after all! I Love your comment (and honesty) more than any comment I've had in a long time!
I own a 2015 250xc love it have never caught myself wishing I would have gotten the 300 I'm running ee super soft seat and skid plate, map switch and red pv spring only down fall if your a shorter rider is it sits high
How is it going, great video. keep them coming. I do have a question for y'all, it's come time for an upgrade for me, and im kinda stuck between two bikrs. I found a fully rebuilt top and bottom end, 2003 kx250 that was done by my friends coworker who is mechanic, and a 2013 ktm 250xc. personally I only ride woods. even though the ktm costs $1000 more, which would be a better choice, spend $1000 more or put that money into parts to make the kx250 a woods bike?
I honestly am in love with my 250 xc. Almost bought bought a 300 like a lot of people but I'm glad I got the 250 because of how fast it revs and hits the pipe almost instantaneously where on the 300 it takes a lot of work to hit that power
I'm a Newbie to the hobby (i've only ridden on the street). Would this Bike be too much for a girl weighing ~130 lbs, skinny built with little to no experience?
Such a good channel guys - love the vids. So the only real difference in XC and XC-W's are the suspension and wide-ratio transmission? Get an XC if you want stiffer suspension and want to go faster thru whoops and get an XC-W if you want more single track, rocky, technical stuff. Quick question - which one you guys think corners (the soft dirt stuff) better?
Dirt Bike Channel When you guys doing XC and XC-W review? Just got a 2016 250 XC yesterday DIRECTLY from listening to you guys so you have a ton of pull with these vids - love em.
Electric start also helps for hare scramble racing and enduro where you need to start your bike when the race starts in thinking of either this or a sherco 250ser
I typically get 42 to 50 mpg out of my highly tuned 250xcw in tough technical single-track. The guys I ride with on efi 4strokes usually get about 35 mpg on the same ride.
Another thing you guys should make a video is for the newest KTM 200. We used to own a 2008 KTM 200xc and I think is one the BEST single trail bikes out there. Recently I help my best friend to buy one for his kid coming out of the KTM 144. I have to tell you guys I was super impressed with the progress KTM put on the little bike. Incredible power from the bottom to the top and easy to flick around (too easy.... ;-)) Forgot to mention now the KTM 200xcw comes with electric start. No that needs one but that is a bonus for some difficult situations on the trail. I tough the electric start will add a ridiculous amount of weight on the bike affecting the handling, but honestly I didn't felt any differences on weight or performance compare of our old and trusty 2008 KTM 200xc.... Sorry to carry on so deep in the 200 but I guess we LOVE KTM's two strokes!!!!! RIDE ON!! Jerry
Hi Kyle. Have you ever had any problems or issuses with ktm Electric starter? In 2017 they changed it, but many guys have had many issues with ktm 2stroke 2016 and older... What is your thought about this? I know beta and sherco 2strokes had better starters in 2015,2016....
should i go with the xcw 150 or the xcw 250. 6'1" 175lbs. havent rode in a while, used to ride a ttr 230, then a yz 85. you seem to favor the 250 over the 150, i was leaning to the 150 but nervous about bottom end, greater maintness and also wonding why you favor the 250 so much
This comment is about the mileage. I have a Honda crf450x with a stock tank . I believe it's about 2 gallons . I can ride about 65 miles or so on that. Also I am really slow. So from your comments about fuel mileage there does not seem to me to be a huge difference. I have put an fmf power up carb kit on it and a block off kit with an fmf Q4 pipe. Other than that the engine is stock. It has boat loads of power.
Hands down the KTM 250xc is just an absolutely great bike. I own a 2012 KTM 300xc and my kid race the 2011 KTM 250xc. I love my 300 but there is also something special and unique about the 250xc the make the bike easier to flick around with a faster rev compare of the 300. We ride/race in TX with a lot of rocky trails and I like better the PDS suspension due the no restrictions under the bike vs the linkage and the longer shock travel from the PDS works good over rocks/logs, etc.... Anyway the two bikes are great and the are also easy to set up for any kind of rider or terrain. RIDE ON!! Jerry
Thanks you guys for some great information to help others choose a bike to suit their style. When is someone going to loan you a Beta 250/300 to ride! I would love to hear your opinions on those and how they compare to the KTM.
Hi, I'm a big fan of your videos! From time to time I have enough patience to put some of our rides here on our area - Sintra, Portugal.I have a 2012 Husaberg TE 250. Which model should her be compared to? An XC or XC-W. What are the main differences from XC, XC-W, and EXC? I don't really have that much to gain in getting another bike right now, but I may switch to KTM since it maintained PDS suspension and that is a great feauture for extreme enduro and less maintenance costs.I'll look forward to your comments and advices. Keep up with the great job! : )
When are you going to compare the 300 xc and 300 xcw? Can't wait for that one, will literally decide whether my next bike is an xc or exc/xc-w. Good to see you covered the suspension difference here, particularly interested in any major gear ratio differences. This was video was very helpful though, thanks!!! Keep up the good work!!!!
+Thomas Botica I also see you're asking others which videos they prefer, so for me it's definitely bike reviews, and second to that I enjoyed the 2t vs 4t series. Also any bike mods, i quite enjoy! Quality of your channel is awesome so keep it up!
Hi guys I'm headed out tomorrow to buy a 2008 250 xc. I know it's an older model but do you have any recommendations for upgrades or heard any bad about this year? I am wondering if it has a hydraulic clutch and if not, are they worth the money? I have a 2016 husky with one and I love it. Thanks for the great videos!
Couldn't have said it better about the mileage situation. My YZ450, which is fuel injected went 77 miles before it ran out of gas in a desert race. Now, the first half of the race really sucked down the fuel due to being behind some competitors who were stuck and I had to really gas it to get around them. On a good day it'll get around 45mpg on nice single track with the sprockets I put on it. It's also fuel injected so it may get better mileage overall, but it's not some crazy difference.
yz250x is a little lighter, however it does not have, e-start, hydraulic clutch, larger tank (its has a 2 gallon i believe). It also only has 5 gears, where the later KTM models have 6 gear. So they yz is a little gappy at times. Although people rave about the yz suspension, saying its the best stock suspension out there, but its different for everyone.
I just picked one of these up its a 2008 because I can't afford a new one at the moment but can I put electric start on it? And maybe turn signals and break light?
Damn, I want this bike! First I was watching your 300 videos and was hung up between the XC and XC-W. But now I'm starting to realize that light weight is really the key for me to enjoy my tail riding. And the 250 is going to be plenty of power without a doubt. The added displacement in the 300 helps with torque. Idk if I should go new or not.. I do not like the idea of buying bikes new anymore, but there are very few KTMs in my area.. Maybe if I can find a leftover new bike at a dealer I could cut a nice deal.. Cheers from Tampa Bay, FL.
Dirt Bike Channel I'm torn atm because my local dealer has a leftover 2015 300 XC MSRP $8,399 but _on sale_ price of $6,299... That is REALLY tempting.
+TopShotta Wait!!! Where is this dealer? I'm write him a check for that bike today if he was within a 12 hour drive of me :) I'd buy that bike, for that price, in a second! Holy crap that is a good deal on a new bike.
i don't know what you'd think of this but what about a head to head review/ comparison of the 300xc vs the 250xc. that would be a great video since I'm considering between the two for my next bike.
+Kevin Mazur Would be a good idea, but I don't have access to one at this point. Sam ended up buying a 300 and selling his 250. The 250 is an awesome bike though.
+Dirt Bike Channel yeah i feel like the 250 would be less of a hand full for a first trail 2stroke. Also having less of a "hit" of power would be easier to ride i think. Maybe once he has ridden his 300 for a while, doing a comparison of 300 vs 250 from his point of view. either way love the videos!
Yeah we probably should do a follow up video. The 250 does its best work higher in the RPM curve vs the 300. The 300 has a more tractor pull which makes it a bit better in the tight rocky slow sections. Over all I like the 300 a little better because of the tractor pull.
U would love the yz 345 esr kit. U think the ktm has lower power. The 345 had the same power all through the power. Just 5% less on top(not noticable) it's smokes 450s
Just wondering...I know zip about motor bikes but ride mountain bikes and was wondering why any off road fork would bottom out with as much travel these bikes have. I would think a good air spring would be perfect and get the impression they use coil which is heavier but more reliable and supple but air is much more easily adjutable and progressive and with so much travel plus being a much heavier machine than a bicycle stiction due to seal drag would be a non issue. What I am asking is why not use air springs? I would imagine it would be easy to have a plush fork without the klang from bottoming and as a bonus save several pounds in the process. I get spring for the rear because there is no need for an actual structure that a fork must have.
It's a way better feel with the spring fork and they just perform way better but there are air forks out there but there are lots of complaints you don't get proper feeling of the terrain I also ride mountain bikes and I think it's the extra 200+ pounds that makes the fork perform different and also the higher speed in some spots
Mackenzie Ashford Interesting. The mountain bike scene went through the same thing. For a long time air sprung simply could not match coil for ride quality, mostly tracking but they would eventually get air spings to meet the performance of coil. Once that happened, the advantages of lighter weight and adjustability made coil a lower budget option.. The main differance as I understand it is coil is linear whereas air is progressive and air has stiction issues at the seals for obvious reasons. Eventually they overcame these issues with optional "tokens" to occupy the air volume effecting the rate of progression and seals improved, regardless, I still think it would be hard to beat a tuned coil for tracking. Titanium make great light weight coils.
+schlooonginator yeah it's there has been recent air forks that have performed as well as spring but very few I think we are only a few years from seeing them everywhere
Luke Hufford Thanks for watching. Just curious, which videos do you personally like the best? Bike reviews, comparisons, how to's, or just trail rides?
fz07.org Different gearing, suspension settings, and the xc-w has PDS instead of linkage. Both are great bikes but the W is built for gnarly trails and the XC is more geared for cross country. However you can pretty much do whatever you want on both bikes but the W's suspension settings are a bit to soft for high speed desert riding and motocross tracks.
+Hazardous-Nebula the EXC is an European model which we don't get here in the states. I think it's a lot like the XCW we have but with no linkagage. Not sure if if the suspension and gearing is different
+Hazardous-Nebula that's correct I forgot that the we have the EXC models that are street legal models. They are only 4 strokes models which means I tend to pay less attention to them. We will need to get our hands on one to see if we can see the difference is.
+Justin F I do. I have owned a Yz250 2 stroke for years and I trail ride with it. I just bought the 2016 250 xc. A riding buddy of mine has a 200 and there is a considerable difference.
I'm looking for some help here. I am 15, about 6 feet tall, and weigh 150 lbs. I have some experience riding my buddy's 450 and 250, but never have owned a bike for myself. I was wondering if I should choose between the ktm 200xcw, and the 250xc. i think I'd rather go with the 250, just because i will never get bored with the power, unlike the 200 or a TE125. any suggestions?
+greg scott Go with the 250xc. 2 strokes are soo much lighter and there is no engine brake. Easy to rebuild and you don't have to mess with valves. That 250 will be plenty of power that you would eventually want anyway.
I love both bikes. The yz250x is probably a more fun bike to ride but if you want a do it all bike the XC with e-start, bigger tank, and hydraulic clutch go with the KTM.
is the power overbearing on a 250 2 stroke, I am coming off a ttr225 and am looking at getting a new bike, my worries or that the 250f won't be enough and the 250 2 stroke will be too much, any suggestions?
You should be fine if you don't go from 5% throttle to 100% throttle in the flick of a wrist. If you know what I'm saying. Just don't go wide open when you don't need to
+Dirtbike Channel Sam The power is great on the xc 250. You can lug the engine if you have to. The power is very smooth and controllable for a 2 stoke. You actually have usable low end power. The power is nothing like a mx 2 stoke.
I know its hard to say and you probably get asked questions like this all the time but would the 250 xc be a good recommendation for a first time rider? I'm a bit late getting into the dirt bike life being 21 but now that I have plenty of time on my off days I've been looking into getting a bike to ride.
I was planning on buying a bike this summer and I think I want to buy this one its my first dirt bike but I've ridden others, how much could this cost?
+Brandon Barrios I'd look for a good used one. I paid 3000 usd for my 09 ktm xc-w 250. New these bikes are close to $9,000. But buy one 2009 and up because of the better suspension.
+Dirt Bike Channel Another thing I'd like to see more of is you vlogging while you are actually riding. That way we get to hear your reactions and what's going through your mind while you're riding. I think a lot of people would enjoy this.
so when do u need to do a piston .and bottom end.on the 250.is it the same as the 300 .150 for a piston and 300 for a bottom end.cheers.i have a kx250 .just looking for something a little less maintains.
On fuel usage. My 2015 300 XCW 6 Days with the same 2.6 gallon tank gets just over 40 mpg. That's slightly over 100 miles to empty and about 88 miles to reserve. How? I'm using a 36mm SmartCarb. My 2008 300 XCW with the 2.8 gallon tank gets about 42 mpg with the same carb, for a range to empty of about 117 miles, or about 100 miles to reserve. Just sayin'.
Dirt Bike Channel Right. I should have noted that, so here goes. On the ride that yielded the 40 mpg reading it was about 70 degrees. The carb was dialed in at sea level and the ride took place at about 1200 to 3000 feet ASL. The trail is a combo of 25% fast fireroad, 25% mid-speed 2-track, 25% gnarly 2-track, and 25% single track hard, rocky ridge climb/descent. Trail ranged from dry to muddy gorp holes, but basically it was a dry ride with a couple of stream crossings. Distance was about 55 miles. I am old and slow, but this was a good day and I'd say I was riding at about a low to mid B class rider's speed. Hope that paints a better picture.
I'm all for two strokes but you guys need to compare some other bikes that aren't orange. Not everyone breathes orange. Up in new England the new off-road bike to have, is a yz250. You guys should consider trying some different colors. I had a ktm 200, I had an rm250, husqvarna 144, and now a yz 250. So far the ktm was my least favorite. I've now had 3 friends go buy new yz 250s because they loved mine. So again you should seriously consider trying other bikes off-road. I do love your channel by the way!
I hear what you're saying. I am planning on doing just that. The issue is that I have to buy my own bikes at full price. I am looking for a good deal on a Yamaha as we speak. Yamaha is what I started riding, but fell in love with ktm over the past 3-4 years.
Both are great bikes and you usually can find better deals on a 250. If you don't care about a better deal I would go with a 300. I sold the 250 am now riding the 300
hey i own a 2015 xc 300 and im having a load and a load of trouble finding a good headlight any way you could help me out looking for something in the $200 range
Kyle, first off I love the channel, been watching steadily for months. Was curious if you've ever had any seat time on the 200XCW and could compare it to the 250XC? I've got a 2016 200XC W, coming from a 125SX Husky and lately been toying with the idea of going the XC vice XCW route.
+Wade Mcgilvra I'd stick with your 200 XCW and give that a go. I haven't had the chance to ride one, but everyone I talk to out on the trails seems to love them. I wouldn't mind getting one some day for sure. It would be hard to find a lighter, more nimble bike for the tight trails/woods.
what about the 200, most people say that it has plenty of power and I am only 5'7 and 14 but I just found out that my kx100 is ready to blow so do you think that it is worth fixing or jumping to the 200
Sam KTM it is but we bought the kx for 1500 used and the bottom end costs 1500 to fix up, i have been riding my dads Kim 350 exc and I can get through most everything we can find on it it is just that when it falls, it is tiring to lift even just once
Didn't know it was a bottom end as well. Yeah that kinda makes you want to look at other options. The KTM 350 is heavier than the 200. The newer 200 XCW's are around 219 without fuel and the 350 is around 236. Not a huge difference but overall the 200 will fill much higher when riding it. However, both will be heavy to pick up off the ground.
That would be great if if was. I'd be happy to to talk about other manufacturers more if they'd put out a bike I want. I've been reviewing Yamaha recently.
+Shane Songer Try lowering your suspension? I know Carmicheal had to do that in supercross because he wasnt very tall. I'm no expert by any means but depending on what you're doing height won't matter too much. Although for trail and enduro stuff, I would be sketched out if my bike was that much bigger than me. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
+Dirt Bike Channel yeah im pretty sure I am but I don't know where I've cleaned the bike to see if I could find it and I lowered the float a little but nothing's made it better
Where is the endo? I was looking forward to seeing that! Good job on the video. I can't say enough good about the durability of the KTM 250 two stroke. Keep on smokin boys!
Dirt Bike Channel If you don't make mistakes once in a while, you aren't trying hard enough, right? Thanks for thinking of me though. Hey, I can star in your bloopers reel!
Dirt Bike Channel you are too kind. If I can challenge myself and keep it on two wheels, then it was a good day. Same goes for everyone on a dirt bike, no matter the skill level.
Great vid. Thanks. Appreciate the care taken with the editing and all round production. You two come across as a couple of good blokes telling it like it is.
Please don't ever stop making videos please, they're that good. Keep it up boys!
WellYaNan A double please. Those are rare :) Thank you.
Always love your videos you get right to the point and take your time explaining! Thanks for the great videos keep it up! :)
DirtShark808 These things tend to take a lot of work/time, so I'm glad to hear you are getting some good value out of them.
2 stroke guys 4 stoke guys. Were all just guys and girls that love ridding.
I own a 2011 250 EXC fantastic bike. I ride hard enduro, Motocross, Trails, the only thing I change when I change from MX to Enduro is open up the Compression front and rear by 10 clicks.
vivalaphill Thanks for sharing this with the group.

6:00 "Make you limp for weeks straight... if you did it." haha! Love it!
Maybe a little Hyperbole, but hey....
You guys are doing a great job, brought home a brand new 2015 250 xc today because of this review. If I need more power down the road I can always add the 300 cylinder kit. I haven't seen any other video channel on you tube that even comes close, keep it up.
+Curtis Penney Curtis, thanks for the kind words. I think you are really going to like that 250 XC. It's a great bike!
+Dirt Bike Channel By any chance could you tell me how much horsepower the 2015 ktm 250xc has, I have had a hard time finding out. ThankS
Great Video Gentlemen!!! Thank You very much. I feel anything that you guys do to promote 2 Stroke Motorcycles is Fantastic!!!! I will not ride a 4 Stroke! thomas foresman Thanks for your support!
Pussy boy
That woodpecker call at the end sounded pretty good over that beat lol

modestmoose83 Yeah, suspension is very subjective. What one person loves, another person will hate.
I have a 2006 250 XC and I don’t know who would complain about the range, unless you were desert riding. I ride enduro mostly and I have never even came close to running out of fuel. Even after a full day of riding.
I have and race an 09 250 xc-w. Best dirt-bike I ever owned. It's a blast off road and feels very light and flickable.
I own a 2011 250 xc, it has over 500 hours, and the bike its still good as new!! love the bike this year im upgrading years, but keeping the same xc 250!!
Great review! Currently looking to buy one of these!! I can't wait to get out on the trail!
DUDE, You are doing a Great Job with posting your videos. Thanks!!!
Jerry Mena Thank you Jerry!
Hey love the videos, would consider the 250xc a good do it all bike? I was thinking of doing some MX an harescambles
I honestly am in love with my 250 xc. Almost bought bought a 300 like a lot of people but I'm glad I got the 250 because of how fast it revs and hits the pipe almost instantaneously where on the 300 it takes a lot of work to hit that power
But that down low pull on the 300 is almost unbeatable
The 250 is an awesome package. I wouldn't agree about it being a lot of work to get the 300 on the pipe though...
Tbe 250 has that smooth top end that loves to rev.
Brian McConnell You are bang on with your assessment. I would have to say that the XC would corner better overall. Both are great though!
Dirt Bike Channel When you guys doing XC and XC-W review? Just got a 2016 250 XC yesterday DIRECTLY from listening to you guys so you have a ton of pull with these vids - love em.
Brian McConnell how are you liking your '16? I have my eye one, a leftover still on the showroom floor. I think for 7600.
Electric start also helps for hare scramble racing and enduro where you need to start your bike when the race starts in thinking of either this or a sherco 250ser
It's got the sss suspension, 6 speed, e start and 220 watts of power. The only downside is no CB. I want to try one. I'm on a yz250x.
RIDE ON!!
Jerry
Jerry Mena I'd love to review a 200 XC-W. They are just hard to come by.
Hi Kyle. Have you ever had any problems or issuses with ktm Electric starter? In 2017 they changed it, but many guys have had many issues with ktm 2stroke 2016 and older... What is your thought about this? I know beta and sherco 2strokes had better starters in 2015,2016....
Good job boys, really enjoyed this.
Dan6399 Thanks
should i go with the xcw 150 or the xcw 250. 6'1" 175lbs. havent rode in a while, used to ride a ttr 230, then a yz 85. you seem to favor the 250 over the 150, i was leaning to the 150 but nervous about bottom end, greater maintness and also wonding why you favor the 250 so much
This comment is about the mileage.
RIDE ON!!
Jerry
Jerry Mena Thanks for the input on the 250.
Thanks you guys for some great information to help others choose a bike to suit their style. When is someone going to loan you a Beta 250/300 to ride! I would love to hear your opinions on those and how they compare to the KTM.
Slimecuda Good question! I'm open to donations from anyone :)
How do you find these awesome places to ride!? Please make a video about finding places to ride.
Can you add a head light and tail light to the xc?
Good review. I am thinking of going two stroke next bike. I will change from my 450EXC.
+Bruce Mcmurtrie I think you'll really enjoy the transition.
Old post, I know! Where do I locate the fork air filler valve on this bike? Or did the 2012 not come with air forks?
Hi, I'm a big fan of your videos! From time to time I have enough patience to put some of our rides here on our area - Sintra, Portugal.I have a 2012 Husaberg TE 250. Which model should her be compared to? An XC or XC-W. What are the main differences from XC, XC-W, and EXC? I don't really have that much to gain in getting another bike right now, but I may switch to KTM since it maintained PDS suspension and that is a great feauture for extreme enduro and less maintenance costs.I'll look forward to your comments and advices. Keep up with the great job! : )
may you please do a video on the 200 ktm 2 stroke. and explain the difference between the exc and xc and xcw thanks
+Brennon Schwartz I'm trying to get my hands on one of those 200s some day.
Thanks.,really looking hard at this.I want to get back in to racing HS.
troubilty The 250 or 300 2 stroke are hard to beat for hare scrambles.
Thomas Botica Thanks for the input.
Thomas Botica It's on my list.
Awesome!! Dirt Bike Channel
75miles, not bad with a 350 exc out in big bear, I was getting around 100 miles in single track.
+Awesymoto I've also done 100 miles on my 2 stroke. It mostly depends on the conditions and the speeds vs terrain.
Nice video, very informative. Thanks for the good work. You should come to Jamaica one day and check out some of our trails 👍
Tks great info on the 250
Hi guys I'm headed out tomorrow to buy a 2008 250 xc. I know it's an older model but do you have any recommendations for upgrades or heard any bad about this year? I am wondering if it has a hydraulic clutch and if not, are they worth the money? I have a 2016 husky with one and I love it. Thanks for the great videos!
I had a 2008 250xcw and loved it. Its a great bike.
Gnarlington Thank you for sharing an honest example of your mileage!!! I hope the group sees this!
Kyle, which bike is better. The 250xc or the yz 250x? I don't know which one to buy. I want the fastest and nibblest feeling bike. Help! Lol
yz250x is a little lighter, however it does not have, e-start, hydraulic clutch, larger tank (its has a 2 gallon i believe).
+TopShotta Keep watching for one and you'll love it when you get it.
+TopShotta No dealer out here in the west will have a 300 at that price...That is a great deal
Dammit I think you guys just forced my hand lmao. Gaahhh. I'll slide down there this weekend.
i don't know what you'd think of this but what about a head to head review/ comparison of the 300xc vs the 250xc. that would be a great video since I'm considering between the two for my next bike.
Air forks are out there. Some of the new 2017 KTM line up will come stock with them. A few of the Jap mx'ers come with them too.
Awesome video! Keep them up!
Luke Hufford Thanks for watching. Just curious, which videos do you personally like the best? Bike reviews, comparisons, how to's, or just trail rides?
Dirt Bike Channel trail rides
Luis Franco Thanks for the input.
that is my dream bike 😢😢
really really gotta work hard
what is the seat height of the 250 xc? Great video Chaps, keep it up!!
+matt Maree google it
another great vid! Whats the difference between my 250 xc-w and that 250 xc?
fz07.org Different gearing, suspension settings, and the xc-w has PDS instead of linkage. Both are great bikes but the W is built for gnarly trails and the XC is more geared for cross country. However you can pretty much do whatever you want on both bikes but the W's suspension settings are a bit to soft for high speed desert riding and motocross tracks.
+Sam KTM What about the EXC? And is there an EXC-W?
+Hazardous-Nebula the EXC is an European model which we don't get here in the states. I think it's a lot like the XCW we have but with no linkagage. Not sure if if the suspension and gearing is different
Sam KTM I thought the EXC and EXC-W were street legal models....
+Hazardous-Nebula that's correct I forgot that the we have the EXC models that are street legal models. They are only 4 strokes models which means I tend to pay less attention to them. We will need to get our hands on one to see if we can see the difference is.
did you ever have starter ptonlems i have the same bike and the starter doesnt sound like it doesnt turn over fast enough and ideas???
Man, I wanna ride with you guys.
Cheers from Montana!
I was thinking the same. I run wyhoming moto adventures where in Montana are you Tyler?
Just south of Helena. You?
Which model out of the 250 exc xc and xcw don't have a kickstart
That's really cool! Here if you want a ktm bike with the link you must buy the sx or the new Husqvarna TE
This video was great and I really enjoyed the insights
But you horribly misuse the term "HARD enduro"
you think you'll review the 200 xc or xc-w? I ride a kdx 200 but I'm looking to switch over to KTM some day soon and am trying to pick one out
Don't waste your time on the 200. Make the jump to the 250.
+David Hoban do you have any experience? People love their 200s
+Justin F I do. I have owned a Yz250 2 stroke for years and I trail ride with it. I just bought the 2016 250 xc. A riding buddy of mine has a 200 and there is a considerable difference.
+David Hoban what's your opinions on it. And what's your weight? I would think that would make a big difference
I weigh 200 lbs.
The 250 xc is unbelievable.
If I were shopping for this bike, what year range should I stay in, 2013+?
Kyle, could you and Sam compare the 250 Xc to the yz 250 x? I would like to hear your thoughts on the two
We don't have a 250XC available to us right now.
Dirt Bike Channel I was hoping for your thoughts on the two, not so much of a side by side comparison.
I love both bikes. The yz250x is probably a more fun bike to ride but if you want a do it all bike the XC with e-start, bigger tank, and hydraulic clutch go with the KTM.
What's nice about the 250x is 20 years of used parts on ebay and the suspension. The engine responds well to mods, too.
Would love to see some reviews on the Beta bikes, especially the X Trainer.
+Rocky Mtn Pursuit I'd be accepting donations :)
is the power overbearing on a 250 2 stroke, I am coming off a ttr225 and am looking at getting a new bike, my worries or that the 250f won't be enough and the 250 2 stroke will be too much, any suggestions?
You should be fine if you don't go from 5% throttle to 100% throttle in the flick of a wrist. If you know what I'm saying. Just don't go wide open when you don't need to
william johnson You can ride a 250 2 stroke slow.
+Dirtbike Channel Sam The power is great on the xc 250. You can lug the engine if you have to. The power is very smooth and controllable for a 2 stoke. You actually have usable low end power. The power is nothing like a mx 2 stoke.
Yeah I really liked the xc250 its a great bike! You nailed with with the "usable low end". Its a great do it all bike
Dirtbike Channel Sam bought a xc-w 250 last summer. Great bike
Do you still need make a mixture of oil and gasoline for these newer models? Just asking
the fuel injected ones are also oil injected.
I know its hard to say and you probably get asked questions like this all the time but would the 250 xc be a good recommendation for a first time rider? I'm a bit late getting into the dirt bike life being 21 but now that I have plenty of time on my off days I've been looking into getting a bike to ride.
Kyle Sreyas It's not an ideal first bike in my opinion. It's got a lot of power and can be pretty snappy.
What would you recommend then when it comes to trail riding. I'm just making sure I get something that's best suited for my lack of experience.
Kyle Sreyas you could try a 200
Kyle Sreyas Yeah the 200 XCW probably would be a better bet. Keep in mind the 200 is no slouch either.
Personally I like the XC model because I have a 250 XCF 2014 and it's amazing
Jake Smith thanks Jake.
How old is too old of a 250xc? Im looking for a good deal.
I'd like to see a 200 xc or xc-w review. A lot of people seem to praise them, regardless of their displacement.
+Corey Calhoun I'd like to get my hands on one this year. We'll see if I can make that happen.
It's the same 2 stroke engine just geared differently this would be just as high maintenance as every other motocross bike
What do you consider a "good deal" for a 2001 KTM 250 EXC that's been well maintained?
+Alejandro Novoa 500-1500€ depending on wearout and upgrades
Ok I am 14 I have always road 4-wheelers and I am look for a dirt bike what is the best size for me
Why this ktm exc 250 has the link system? I know that all the ktm exc have the PDS system
+SHARK ONE PESCARA In the US, we have an XC line that has linkage. The XC-W line here in the US has the PDS system.
Barry Jackson thanks for chiming in with this. Fuel mileage is also very dependent on terrain, trail conditions, and the rider.
Barry Jackson Wow. That is a lot of detail. I'm a numbers guy, so I can't complain! Well done.
Will happily take donations :)
With this awesome vid series, Yammie should demo them some bikes! Keep up the great work!!!
Tyler Metsack btw a yz250 is a race bike technically, have you done any suspension tuning to it for offroad?
Tyler Metsack We would love to try out the YZ250 as its still one of the best 2T's out there.
Do you like the 250 or 300 more??? i was thinking about getting the 250 then if i ever wanted to make it a 300 ktm has a top end kit for it.
+WolleytheMonster I personally like the 300 more.
Both are great bikes and you usually can find better deals on a 250. If you don't care about a better deal I would go with a 300. I sold the 250 am now riding the 300
My 2012 ktm 250xc has the top end of a race bike and the bottom of a trail bike
hey i own a 2015 xc 300 and im having a load and a load of trouble finding a good headlight any way you could help me out looking for something in the $200 range
+brodus 20 why u dont order it? www.ebay.de/bhp/ktm-exc-scheinwerfer
what powervalve spring does he run?
Is this a good beginner bike?
Why doesn’t husky make a 250xc?
hey i own a 2015 xc 300 and im having a load and a load of trouble finding a good headlight any sites i should look at?
brodus 20 motosport.com
brodus 20 I have been happy with my Trail Tech. www.trailtech.net/lighting
alright ill have a look thanks guys
what about the 200, most people say that it has plenty of power and I am only 5'7 and 14 but I just found out that my kx100 is ready to blow so do you think that it is worth fixing or jumping to the 200
Kris Roos If you could find a good deal on a 200, that would be a great option.
Dirt Bike Channel do you think I should go strait to it or wait till I grow a bit and fix the kx100
Kris Roos You cannot go wrong with the 200. Fixing the KX is probably the cheaper options :)
So you both dont think the 250 suffers down low in terms of "tractoring" ?
NO. Lugs very well.
How many total hours? The bike looks pretty new...
originalschmid In the pic at the end of the video and on the the thumbnail, the bike had only about 5 hours on it.
Are the 07 ktm 250xc a good bike or do that common problems?
Only been around a 2008 250XC-W in that age range. It was a solid bike.
I have an 07 KTM 250xc. Great bike!
I like what you guys area doing xD keep it up
Riding Japan Thank you.
Would anyone be able to tell me the difference between a 300exc and a 300xc?
What are your thoughts on the 200 XC-W?
+FlyingJJD I haven't ridden one, but I'd sure like to. I think it would be a great woods bike.
this channel should be sponsored by ktm
That would be great if if was. I'd be happy to to talk about other manufacturers more if they'd put out a bike I want. I've been reviewing Yamaha recently.
What about if you can't fit a 125 or above I'm 5'1
+Shane Songer Try lowering your suspension? I know Carmicheal had to do that in supercross because he wasnt very tall. I'm no expert by any means but depending on what you're doing height won't matter too much. Although for trail and enduro stuff, I would be sketched out if my bike was that much bigger than me. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Whats about the gasgas 250 is it the same quality?
I don't have any experience with GasGas.
Dirt Bike Channel
Review one pls pls pls :)
love my 250 exc
I ride a yz 2 stroke I love the bike but I get about 12 miles per tank witch is about 2.3 gallons
+Garrett Ahlenslager Sounds like you are leaking gas somewhere along the way :)
Scott Seely Oh, it's coming! Wanted to help you keep your dignity :)
Dirt Bike Channel If you don't make mistakes once in a while, you aren't trying hard enough, right? Thanks for thinking of me though. Hey, I can star in your bloopers reel!
Scott Seely I think highlight reel would be the correct term for your skills.
Dirt Bike Channel you are too kind. If I can challenge myself and keep it on two wheels, then it was a good day. Same goes for everyone on a dirt bike, no matter the skill level.
