Is Taj Mahal overrated like many other tourist destinations across the world? It costs thousands to get there, foreigners are charged more to see it and from our experience in India so far, noise pollution has ruined the experience in serene places!
But since we’ve spend so much to get to India and it’s a bucket list item for us, we decided to visit and see if it’s really worth it. In addition to the Taj Mahal, we decided to finish off the Golden Triangle route and visit Jaipur (also known as the Pink city) too.
Was it the spiritual journey many people make it out to be or was just another over crowded place in India? We share our thoughts in this video.

ancient India used to have lot of excellent architectures better than this one. during Islamic rule in India especially in Mughal period about 47000 temples and several other structures were destroyed. others were demolished by the European rulers. that's why India hardly has any ancient structures left in North India. however there are quite a lot of them in South India especially states of Karnataka and Tamilnadu.

I really adore the craftsmanship of the pietra dura on the interior and exterior of the Taj Mahal, the semi and precious stones were beautifully embedded onto the white marbles. The 4 surahs that flanked the 4 doors of the mausoleum are equally impressive, pietra dura craftsmanship using the black stars of India semi precious stones believed by the locals to repel evil. The main door is flanked by the glorious surah Al Yasin.

Wonderful pink city in Jaipur that has some amazing UNESCO world heritage sites like the Hawa Mahal and Amber Fort. I think I've visited more than 7 UNESCO sites in Jaipur.

@@FieldofVisions I think it was in 2010. I was working and living in Mumbai for 3 years from Dec 2008 to Dec 2011. Udaipur was my first visit in 2009 outside Mumbai. I visited Udaipur and Jaipur twice. I even did a roadtrip from Mumbai to Udaipur and Jaipur with my Rajasthani friend who lives in Mumbai, passing places I couldn't imagine exist in Rajasthan. Hope you guys had a good time too. 😀

Taj Mahal has not done anything special in being symmetrical. India is the birthplace of geometry and trigonometry. if you see any Temple over a thousand year old in india everything is absolutely symmetrical. speaking about temples you should visit some India is land of some of the greatest temples.

The Taj Mahal is amazing but it was built for very selfish reasons and 1000s died in it's construction. I was much more impressed with the Golden Temple that was built for completely altruistic reasons

Taj Mahal and Golden Temple have been built in last 450 years. for the best of Indian architecture please visit temples over 800 years ago before the Islamic rule. in other parts of India they are destroyed but in South India still lot of them remaining. some of them can beat any of the world wonders.

during Mughal rule common Indians was burdened with excessive tax which caused people dying in masses especially including the era of Shah Jahan. Mughal rulers which includes Shah Jahan used to sell Indians to the foreign markets as slaves. 1 of Mumtaj and Shah Jahan's 14 children was Aurangzeb who later became the Mughal ruler. Army of Aurangzeb has killed at least 6 to 10 million Indians by conservative estimate, forcefully converted even more into their religion and destroyed thousands of temples. what happened to women during Aurangzeb period is unspeakable. dream of Aurangzeb was rule all of Indian subcontinent, end Indian culture all together and make India nation of the religion he follows. he failed because of the greatest Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his son Sambhaji Maharaj who saved India.
