His numbers absolutely blow every live pitcher away by a lot. He's about 25 WAR ahead of Seaver, 33 more than Maddux, 35 more than Johnson. 7 Cy Youngs, 2 in the 80's, 3 in the 90's, 2 in the 00's. Shoulda won 9 or 10. 2 rings (2 blown saves from 4 rings) You can cut his career in half and he's 2 Hall of Famers. Even with a steroid demerit he's at the very least Top 3 live ball era pitchers.
There was 2 versions of Clemens....young Rocket threw straight gas and a breaking ball...mix of sliders and curves. By about 1994, he perfected the split and that became his premeire out pitch that he threw off the fastball w/ occasional sliders and only rarely threw a curve.
So I’m a die hard Clemens fan. Modeled my pitching after him. From wind up to pitch arsenal. I agree with his fastball being a a+ and the splitter being a A+ especially from his late Boston years throw the Yankee years. With the stros not so much. The slider was just a show pitch but I’d grade it more of a c to a c+.

That slider is weaker than an A-. His other pitches are excellent, so I'm not cappin. It still was an effective pitch for him, but that's more of a testament to his fastball.
