    Chamblee made a comment about how LIV players knew that they were giving up OWGR points when they went to LIV, and that they have done nothing to change in order to become eligible for points. But isn't the job of any entity claiming to determine the best at something, to be the one to figure out how to accurately identify the best? We're not talking PGA Tour ranking here (but that's what OWGR really has become), but WORLD rankings. It's not LIV's job to ask, hat in hand, to have some points thrown their way. Good play on any tour needs to be recognized in some way. They need to either figure it out, or stop pretending OWGR is relevant at this point.

      excellent point. Chamblee can't take himself out of the hatred he feels for anything that challenges the PGA tour. But even ignoring that OWGR are showing themselves to be an entity that needs to be scrapped and everyone in it be replaced with people who understand the task in hand.

      No. Liv sabotaged themselves. All the players knew what they were getting into. LIV is too dumb to have regular tournaments. Blaring music, shotgun starts, teams, no cut, 54 holes...lol....it is as if they are doing every single thing to ruin their sabotage their efforts. I mean, every single distinguishing thing they have done, is about the dumbest thing you could ever dream up. All they had to do was simply have a competing tour and poach as many players as they could. So stupid.

  • @antap
    @antap 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Correction, Rory wasn't 4 feet away on 18th, it was 2.5 feet, fast L to R downhill; he stopped on it, got nervy and didn't hit through and let the face close through the ball as it should (hit up on it too much). On 16 he was 4 ft (some online sources have this incorrect; one can clearly see) he took an age from when his his eyes came back to the ball - stood accruing tension; can't end well (obviously the tension is not there when the putts are longer).
    If you look at number 15 Rory had a flat two foot putt, made it but it was not an authoritative "make"; it had low ball speed and was more of guiding "don't miss stroke"; this nervy prod was not going to suffice on the knee knocker on 18.
    Remedy for all: One last look then REACT by swing the putter freely (hard to do when the pressure is on but there is no alternative).
    Awesome up and down by Big B on 18, gutsy play.

    About Bryson's year: He was in position to win or tie for first at the Masters Tournament... except for that chunky chip on 15 that went into the creek... which basically took away at least a 2nd place tie there at Augusta....( that could have soured his game for a good long time... especially the Bryson of about 4 years or so ago)
    But instead, he gives us the charge for the almost win at the PGA.... and now this great Open Victory... and I think, at least in my mind, that it must be terribly imposing to play with, or, play just in front of Bryson at a major... (see Victor Hoviland for example)
    Personally, being very old, this young man has the CHARISMA of Arnold Palmer... and it is FUN to watch...and boy oh boy.... just can't wait for the fireworks at the British Open... because, for me, exciting golf is back... and the king is Bryson, at least for now...

    Would love to see Billy Foster as McIlroy’s caddy they would be a great pair together

    Bunker shot wasn't as much pressure as it would have been if Rory had made his putt. Just saying.

    Loved when Wagner put it close. It was a 1/100 shot and he did it live. Put a big smile on my face for sure!

      He hit one right before and he flew it over the green 😂
      The second shot he hit from the same bunker, he quickly said he had chunked it but got it in close. He was dumbfounded it was close. Bryson was right there cheering him on 🎉

      That’s a much easier shot when you can take a mulligan
      Just shows you what Bryson could have done but chose the high percent splash shot to avoid thinning or chunking it. That takes some power to hit that shot

    Rory makes two 3-footers, his Major drought is over. Makes one we get epic US Open playoff. Sad.
