Hey buddy one thing I would like to tell you is the hood latch it's got a fork type bracket that holds the edge of the hood latch cable and over time the fork separates and it pulls the bracket through the fork and then when that happens you can't get the hood open so I would advise anyone to go ahead and unbolt the hood latch and raise it up and take pliers and bend the fork together tighter otherwise you have to take the wheel and inner fender plastic off and drill a hole and insert a long screwdriver 🪛 to disengage the hood latch..love your channel you are very good smart guy take care and God bless
I replaced both mine as well, .. Bonnet was like yours, wanting to come down on a windy day, and the boot lid wasn't to clever either. Easy to fit like you said. Loving your cold air intake by the way. 😎😎😎
Josh, i had my gas struts re gassed by a local engineering firm for around £15 the pair. did a great job and kept the car original. guessing there's a company near to you that could do the same. i bought aftermarket for my xjs and they were garbage, hence the call to the engineering company.
@@LowTechGarage yep, and the beauty is, it keeps it all original and you know they're gunno fit. SGS Engineering in Derby UK did mine. excellent service excellent price and they will post.
Last week, I only got 1 URO strut for $10(on close out) but it held up the hood well; I thought it came in pairs. I will get the 2nd one on my next large purchase. The XJR has just gotten started ... BTW: I wasn't sure if you updated the audio to USB or something or tires.
@ Josh Low-Tech Garage Hi Josh! How are you these days? How often do you change your engine oil on the XJR you have? I’m sitting in Toronto with just over 36,000 miles ( 5850 km exactly ) on my 98 XJR. My last change with new oil filter and new air filter was August 6 and it is now very early October. I think I’d like to get into a every spring and fall rotation so it is going to be do it this fall or wait until spring. Can you tell me at what mileage you change yours ?
The trunk no matter what you put on will never open up on it's own. They only pop up about 2-3 inches. I owned two new, back in the day and just bought a 13K mile 100 percent original XJR. It took me 18 years to find the exact one and with NO miles. They were only supposed to let you know the boot was open but not fully open.
I am glad to see video footage developing around the X308. I recently acquired one off BaT - these cars are fantastic.
Congrats on your purchase. BAT is a good platform. Plenty more content to come! 😬
On my to-do list. Hood hasn't tried to hurt me yet but I'm aware its thinking about it.
😂
This is a small upgrade that leaves a feeling of accomplishment even though it's so simple.
So true!

Thanks a lot! quick fix, big improvement.
Under the hood looks fantastic
Thanks a lot!
Love the XJR, wonderful car.
It sure is!

This is great info! Didn’t know companies can re-gas the struts!

Good indication for us cheers - old git, UK
Absolutely!
Awesome content, do you have any recommendations for the leather maintenance? I'd like to take care of that before summer, thanks.

Just got the same car yesterday, where to buy OWM parts for this car. Thank you from new subscriber
Jagbits is a good site and FCP euro is solid too.

I’d like to use that same air intake set up you got going on and also have you ever had a problem revving over 3k rpms?
No issues with revving. The car revs out to redline without issue.
Are you experiencing this only while in Park?
Hello,do we have a cabin filter on these cars? Any location? Thx
Not that I know of!
I need to do boot/ trunk strut .. any idea how hard to do cause look like theirs no space for it
We will be positing a video on this soon! Shouldn’t be too tricky!
@@LowTechGarage yes! looking forward to this!
You make my day.
Thanks!
