- In this video we show you how WE maintain our epson sure color p600 for DTF printing. We are by NO MEANS experts! We have been utilizing this technique for both of our printers and it works! As DTF technology is so new we have scoured The Internet ourselves to figure out maintenance. We thought that by sharing this video we could help somebody else.

Hi Lori! I bought this EXACT printer. I even have the XL ink cartridges like that. I cannot for the life of my get it going. Would you consider a "getting started" video or mind answering some questions for me? I followed the manual and feel I've done everything right and it appears to be printing.... everything running, but nothing actually prints.

This is an AWESOME video. I am just getting started and have been worried about the maintenance side. I probably won't print everyday. Can I leave the cartridges with cleaning solution in place for longer than a day until I'm ready to print again?
I don’t use mine every day but what I do, do is shake the inks daily and head clean. If i go away for a week then year i run the cleaning solution carriages. The problem with that is, you need to re prime the lines! I hope that helps :)
is this the same layout as the p800? is the whole modification to do dtf the same p600/p800? Remove pizza wheels, build new output tray, chip-less update, refillable cartridges ? lmk thanks.

@@inklabdesigns my printer and shop is at my house. If I’m home i will just hit the button to do a head clean everyday. I have gone away for a weekend and everything was fine

I see people on Facebook groups talk about using cleaning cartridges in their printers but that looks to be impossible with printers like the p600 or p800 since they have long ink lines inside. So I’ve been trying to figure out how to make sure not to ruin my p800 once I set it up this weekend.
@@inklabdesigns i have put cleaning solution and cartridges in when gone for a week or so…. But a weekend i think is fine. As long as you have a controlled environment. Humidity is the devil with these printers
Hi Lori, please help me. Do we need to soak the nozzle every day? or longtime 2 to 3 days to soak? The maintenance staff said that if you soak it every day, the nozzle will be damaged ? Please answer question of me/
Hi there no not everyday just when you feel the need is there to do a full cleaning. I just recently did a 24hr soak and worked like a charm

I'm looking into a P600 also. This was a great maintenance video. Definitely not too bad for a daily maintenance on the printer. I have a question. What if you finish your end of day maintenance, and have to leave the printer untouched for a week. Will that ruin the ink cartridges?

Hi James that’s a very good question. I have found with my personal experiences that if I keep my air conditioning on and the humidity very very low I can actually leave my printer for a week and not have any issues. However, I have in the past used another set of cartridges filled with cleaning solution I would then use the print tool and push all the inks out and do a flush. That way the cleaning solution stays within the lines while you are away ensuring that they would not be any issues. I hope this helps you :)

@@jameskastner2062 no bother! I actually converted my own printer …. I had bought one from a vendor and was scammed! So, i found a p600 from marketplace and was determined to learn how to convert it myself lol
what do you use as the cleaning liquid
Hi Lori, one question, did you say that you modified other p600s for you, such as the adaptation of an output tray and the extraction of the wheels, is it difficult to remove those wheels? Thank you.
And if there is someone who can make a video of how it makes its modification, it would be very useful.

Good morning, thank you very much for your kind comment. Yes, I did take the wheels out it’s extremely easy to do so. I would suggest searching TH-cam for modifications. Or join some of the Facebook DTF groups. There is some really good information in those groups. It is a process to convert printers. You would need to make your printer chipless to take on refillable cartridges. You are going to need to purge your system of the old ink and then you will need to purchase DTF ink, film and curing powder. Sadly, I do not have a video showing those steps. Again, I highly suggest joining some of the DTF groups on Facebook because there are some really good videos in there. Hi Lori, I got to buy a new machine; p600 ,. I have a question about the wheels, are the wheels that when removing the front feed tray are hidden? since under it there are no others.

Got a question for you: I am in the process of cleaning my Surecolor p600. It had been printing yellow lines along with the printed subject. Anyway, the long piece of foam along the bottom of the print head track has a yellow stripe on it. Can this be taken out and the foam cleaned off? Perhaps soaked in solution or distilled water? It looks like it is a chore getting it back in as there are short segments of foam pushed down into various cavities, along that track. Just curious if you might have found you have to clean that piece of foam. Thanks. (Got to thinking about this and realize, you might not have that piece of foam if you have a DTF modified printer.)
Hi there! Good question! I have, in the past, have ink on the foam. I’ve never tried to remove it. Just cleaned with cleaning solution and dabbed it clean. I’m sure it’s removable and you could purchase the foam..... could be challenging however to put back in! Lol hope that helps
How does acrorip work and where did you buy the cartridges? Do you need something else to do the adaptation?
Hi there, I do not use acro rip I use EK print and I purchased the extended cartridges off of Ali Baba. The other thing that you would need to do for adaptation is make your ink cartridges chipless. I hope that helps

Hi Lori and thanks for the video. I'm in the sublimation business as well and as you know the white is a huge issue. Been researching DTF and Going to purchase a P-600 and convert it myself. Was wondering where you got the extended cartridges with ARC from? Was looking at the WhiteRip 7 Software. What do you use for RIP?
Hi Tony - we use EK print and have been very happy with the software. You can purchase any cartridges you may like. What you would want to do is make your p600 chipless. Look up on TH-cam there some great videos on how to accomplish this. Chipless is the way to go :) hope that helps

I use CMYK+white
I thought you were using 6 colors, although it would not be a bad idea, although I don't know if rip them either, they support 6 colors. for dtf.Thanks Lori have a nice day.

@@khalil2099 well, I can’t personally 100% answer that from experience. However, yes that is what I hear and read... very much like DTG but washes way better. Hope that helps

Yes this is a great video. May I ask how many prints are you running per day? What is the capacity per day of your epson?
Compared to some we are low volume and we have 2 printers at the most 40 per day as we also do sublimation ... we could def do more but in general 5-40 a day
@@lorimarlodesignco7776 Thank you such. This is good information. I want to get the printer but I have heard there is many problems with the white ink. It is good that you can do about 40 prints per day and have no problems. I am looking into the DTF biz but am trying to learn everything first before investing. What is theb#1 problem you have had with this printer?
@@MichaelB-ry7hbThe learning curve of the rip software is the hardest! If you maintain and do as i show you in the video. You will have zero issues with the printer itself. I would suggest that you stay away from bootlegged acrorip and look into a different type of rip software

@@MichaelB-ry7hb yes! I feel like it is worth every dime! Better than vinyl, WAYYYYYY better than white toner. Very durable and i feel more versatility. Feels in between DTG and soft vinyl. Pull test is very true, washability is very true. We’ve been pleased and our customers have Ben happy! Photo or graphic quality is unreal. I’ve literally printed picture, snapshots and transferred onto garments. I hope this helps
