- This is a Bang and Olufson Beolit 17 that charges but won't turn on. I suspected a bad power button, and hoped I could find a suitable replacement. After disassembling, I found that I would be able to disassemble and clean the actual switch and be able to repair it for $0!
If this saves your $800 bluetooth speaker consider buying me a coffee here(lets be honest, it will go to a beer):

The current Beolit 20 series has quite a few fake speakers, they are very similar to the genuine product, and can even connect to the B&O app. Will the Beolit 17 series be less fake?
I have a Beloit 17 speaker. I had replaced the battery and the indicator is green. But the buttons not respond. I measure the button work, but I have no 3 volts on the button board. Where is the error?
I have another model, I had replaced the battery. The battery is now charged, but when I unplug the usb cable, the Beolit turn off. When I put the cable back again, then I can turn on the Beolit. What's going wrong?
I would start at the battery and trace where the power loss is. Check for pinched or broken wires
Sounds like possible battery capacity issue. Can you remove and load test the batteries?
@@thecityviking I measured the cable, there are no broken wire. The battery is charged and the B&O app, display 100% and the light is green. The battery have 8,2 volts. The other model has the same symptoms but when the battery is full charged und the usb -c is connected then blows up the diode D16 near the data connector to charging port. I have two Beloit 17 model they have problem with the power system.
@thecityviking Update, so I have voltage on the buttons now. I replaced the D16 double diode (KL3), the capacitor C158 (the part was shortened) and I replaced U10 the voltage regulator. My Beolit turns on now, when the usb-c cable is connected. The battery is charged, but when I pull the usb-c cable, the box turned off. What is here the problem? Maybe the battery management system?
