I am a Japanese who loves anime, and this video made me think a lot. Perhaps many Japanese who watch anime do not care much about the skin color of the characters, but simply recognize it as the character's personality, like their hair colour or their voice. This is not the case if the story is about race or if the character's origin or back story is clearly depicted. (Like Onyankopon of Attack on Titan). Many Japanese people have less to do with non-Japanese people in their daily lives than you might think. This is probably unconsciously reflected in anime. The anime is based on manga and novels for Japanese audiences, so I think that's a big factor. Any animes have no intention of racism at all. Anyway, I think it is best to enjoy the story itself without thinking too hard. Have a good anime life, my friends.

The exsplaination of Blacks/ Dark skin Pocs not being depicted in Anime often because of their lack of presence / population in Japan is a false belief I wish people would stop saying. How does that exsplain the massive amount of European characters featured in anime? When the population of whites in Japan are the same as dark skin pocs? In almost every Anime you have a a character / characters that are of European decent, Not to mention, the ridiculous amount of non asian European ethnic traits featured in anime. Blonde/ redish- light brown hair...green and blue eyes. There's a lot of European worship in Japan. And that's why there's so little black anime characters and so much European representation instead. Whether it's good or bad is up to you to decide. It is ultimately their choice to put what they want in their own entertainment.
